Harold Kinzer
ST. EDWARD -- Harold Edward Kinzer, 76, of St. Edward died Monday, March 29, 1999, at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in St. Edward. The Rev. Terry Otto will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery at St. Edward with military rites by Crosier American Legion Post 226 of St. Edward.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward.
Mr. Kinzer was born on April 17, 1922, in St. Edward to Thomas and Minnie (Meyer) Kinzer. He was educated in the St. Edward public schools.
He served in the U.S. Army from Oct. 6, 1942, to Oct. 15, 1945. He served in the European theater at Utah Beach on D-Day.
He married
Berdine Heller on April 10, 1948, in Fremont. They lived in the Seattle area for 17 years, and he worked for the B'ing Aircraft Co. They moved to St. Edward in 1967, and he had several jobs before retiring in 1988.
He was a member of Crosier American Legion Post 226 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of St. Edward.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Fred Kinzer of Columbus; two daughters, Carol (Mrs. Daryl) Reynoldson of York and Joyce (Mrs. Jim) Nelson of West Point; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Keith; three brothers, Sam, Marion and Ivan; and three sisters, Lucille Schumacher, Leoma Zelazny and Lillian Swanson.
Barbara Beck
CENTRAL CITY -- Barbara Beck, 33, of Central City died from a brain aneurysm Sunday, March 28, 1999, in Grand Island.
Services are pending with Solt Funeral Home.
William Gordon
ST. PAUL -- William T. "Bill" Gordon, 78, of St. Paul died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at his daughter's home in Albuquerque, N.M.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael McDermott. Burial will be in the Elmwood cemetery in St. Paul with graveside military honors by Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 of St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church with a 7 p.m. vigil service.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice, Howard County Historical Society, St. Paul Library Foundation or the Howard County Community Hospital. Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Ralph Harder
BOELUS -- Ralph Harder, 82, of Boelus died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services are pending at the Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Tamela Hobbs-Tickle
CAIRO -- Tamela M. Hobbs-Tickle, 39, of Cairo died Saturday, March 27, 1999, as the result of an auto accident. Her husband was also killed.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Grand Island with the Rev. Vernon W. Werner officiating. Burial will be Thursday in the Cozad cemetery in Cozad following an 11 a.m. Thursday service for her husband, Trevor Tickle.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kleine Funeral Home in Grand Island and Wednesday before services at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Tamela M. Hobbs-Tickle Memorial Fund.
Trevor Tickle
CAIRO -- Trevor L. Tickle, 30, of Cairo died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center from injuries suffered in an auto accident. His wife also died as a result of the crash.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Cozad. Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery.
Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
Devin Couch
Devin I. Couch, 4 months, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Grand Island. Rev. Curtis Holzworth will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
He was born Oct. 23, 1998, in Grand Island.
Survivors include his parents, Tyson Couch and Kelly Sweet of Grand Island; half-brothers, Michael Smith and Ryan Grobe of Grand Island; grandparents, Curt and Chris Smith of Grand Island, Sue Doty of Lakeville, Minn., Karl and Jenifer Sweet of Grand Island; seven great-grandparents and one great-great-grandmother.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Freedom Michael; and a grandfather, Steve Couch.
Henry Drudik
Henry F. Drudik, 83, of Grand Island died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at Tiffany Square Nursing Center.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Revs. Don Larmore, Marty Egging, and Stanley Gorak will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the church or St. Francis Hospice.
Kleine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Drudik was born May 25, 1915, at Ord to Hynek and Mary (Vanek) Drudik. He grew up and received his education at Wood Park, north of Comstock. He later earned a degree in carpentry/construction. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from July 1941 to December 1945. He was stationed in Nevada, California, and the Philippines. After his discharge, he worked for several years as a construction foreman for Roberts Construction Co. in Lincoln. He was a construction foreman at Diamond Engineering Co. in Grand Island for 32 years. He retired in 1983.
He married
Victoria Micex in 1943. She died in 1947. He married
Madalaine Jablonski on Aug. 29, 1950.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, United Commercial Travelers, Knights of Columbus, VFW, and the ZCBJ Lodge. He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Platte Duetsch Society, and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kathy Cole of Grand Island, Sue (Mrs. Jeff) Engel of Fremont and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; a son, Florian; a daughter, Carolyn Rayno; and a brother, Frank.
Tom Kraft
Thomas J. Kraft, 75, of Grand Island died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. Jack Rademacher will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Francis Cardiac Unit or the family.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles Kraft of Fredericksburg, Va.; six daughters, Kathleen (Mrs. Kim) Fandry, Michelle (Mrs. John) Anderson and Mary (Mrs. Mike) Fitzgerald, all of Grand Island, Patricia Kraft of Doniphan, Elizabeth (Mrs. Stephen) Euler of Leavenworth, Kan., and Jeannette (Mrs. Randy) Herrold of Phillips; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Jayne Letsche of Alexandria, Va.
