Clifford Steinke
DANNEBROG -- Clifford E. Steinke, 81, of Dannebrog died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at St. Francis Memorial Health Center Skilled Care Unit in Grand Island.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakridge cemetery in Dannebrog. The Rev. Robert Carlson Jr. will officiate.
There will be no visitation. Mr. Steinke was cremated.
Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Hospice.
Jacobsen Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Steinke was born on Oct. 19, 1917, at Cairo to Albert and Ida (Kaiser) Steinke. As a child, he moved with his family to a farm west of Dannebrog. He attended District 9 School in Howard County and attended high school at Dannebrog and St. Paul. He began farming near Dannebrog.
He married
Virginia Jefferson on March 28, 1941, at Trumbull. The couple lived and farmed east of Dannebrog in the Cleveland area. They then farmed west of Dannebrog and near Nysted.
He enjoyed fishing and duck hunting.
He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Dannebrog.
Survivors include one daughter, Elaine (Mrs. Albert) Ummel of Grand Island; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred (Mrs. George) Lauritsen Jr. and Rachel (Mrs. Ray) Lauritsen, both of Dannebrog, and Eleanor (Mrs. Robert) Schmidt of Kearney; and special friends that provided care, Keith and Mary Ardeth Barribo at Dannebrog.
His wife died on April 4, 1974. He also was preceded in death by one son, Ronald.
Georgia Stoffel
WOLBACH -- Georgia M. Stoffel, 70, of Wolbach died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at the Howard County Hospital in St. Paul.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach. The Rev. Ken West will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery in Wolbach.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.

Mrs. Stoffel was born on June 2, 1928, in Greeley to V.J. "Bo" and Flossie (Perry) Baldwin. She grew up in Greeley and attended Greeley public schools. She graduated from Greeley High School. She worked at Jack and Jill Grocery Store in Greeley and then worked as a Linotype operator at the Greeley Citizen newspaper.
She married
Howard Stoffel on Sept. 29, 1956, at Wolbach. The couple lived on a farm near Wolbach before moving into town. She lived there with her husband before entering the Greeley Care Home in March 1991.
She enjoyed reading and watching country music programs on television. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Greeley.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Tommy of Columbus and Dennis of Grand Island; two daughters, Brenda (Mrs. Gordon) Zulkoski of Columbus and Deanna (Mrs. Steve) Lindsley of Wolbach; six grandchildren; one brother, Ed Baldwin of Greeley; and one sister, Helen Atwater of Greeley.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Gene, Don and Marion Baldwin.
Esther Wozniak
ORD -- Esther Wozniak, 88, of Ord died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at the Valley County Nursing Home in Ord.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ord Christian Church. The Rev. Michael Chase will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ord Memorial Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
Mrs. Wozniak was born on July 17, 1910, at Ord to John and Marie (Patterson) Jensen. She was educated in Ord.
She married
Clarence Manchester in 1926 at Grand Island. The couple lived in North Loup. Mr. Manchester preceded her in death.
She married
Cash Wozniak on May 1, 1954, at Ord. They lived in Ord. Mr. Wozniak died on Dec. 22, 1998. Mrs. Wozniak lived at the Valley County Nursing Home until her death.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Ord, the Happy Circle Extension Club, Rebekah Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Survivors include one daughter, Norma (Mrs. Joe) Miska of Ord; two sons, Dale Manchester of Ord and Richard Manchester of Lewellen; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Lyle Manchester; four brothers, Cortney, Alvin, Julius and George; and two sisters, Hannah Jensen and Mary Jensen.
Roy Stewart
McCOOK -- Roy L. Stewart, 81, of McCook died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson. The Rev. Don Morton will officiate. Burial will be in the Culbertson Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook. The casket will not be open at the church.
Memorials are suggested in his name.
Mr. Stewart was born on June 21, 1917, at Culbertson to Roy and Hazel (Bymer) Stewart. He grew up at Culbertson, where he graduated from rural school.
He farmed and also worked for Missouri Valley Construction, Dale Lyons Construction and the Frenchman Valley Irrigation District. He retired in 1982.
He married
Grace Arline Porter in 1943. She died on May 22, 1973.
He married
Berdeane Jussel on July 5, 1975. They lived at Culbertson.
Survivors include his wife, Berdeane; one son, Larry of Lincoln; one daughter, Darlene (Mrs. Ronn) Sorensen of Lincoln; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Bill Jussel of Grand Island and Dick Jussel of Kearney; one stepdaughter, Bonnie (Mrs. Pat) Mortimore of Apache Junction, Ariz.; eight step grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; two brothers, Orville Stewart of Indianola and Wayne Stewart of McCook; and six sisters, Beulah (Mrs. Jim) Miles of Riverside, Calif., Martha Berns of Red Cloud and Lorna Trupp, Edna VanVleet, Dottie (Mrs. Al) White and Joan (Mrs. Clarence) Gillen, all of McCook.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Connie Tweton and Roxie Ann Fries; and three brothers, Cecil, Virgil and Don Stewart.
Fern Cook
AMERICAN FALLS, Idaho -- Fern Margaret Cook, 71, of American Falls, Idaho, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at Harms Memorial Hospital in American Falls.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Palmer Funeral Home in Stromsburg. The Rev. Jeffery Thurman will officiate. Burial will be in Hoffer Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Avis Green
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- Avis Gillham Green, 96, of Grand Junction, Colo., died Dec. 26, 1998, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction.
Services were at Martin Mortuary in Grand Junction. Burial was in Memorial Garden at Grand Junction.
Mrs. Green was born on March 11, 1902, at Greenwood to Orean and Nancy Gillham.
She married
Bernie Green on April 4, 1934, in North Platte. She moved to Grand Junction, Colo., in 1949.
Mrs. Green loved to hunt and fish.
Survivors include one sister, Evelyn Magnuson of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and six sisters.
