Lawrence Frahm
LINCOLN -- Lawrence H. Frahm, 86, of Lincoln died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at Lincoln.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Roper and Sons Chapel in Lincoln. The Rev. Ed Millican will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the Lawrence Frahm Scholarship Fund.
He was born at Ithaca. He was a retired farmer and owner of Ashland Roller Rink.
He was a member of the Havelock United Methodist Church, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and Lincoln Senior Center Chorus.
Survivors include his wife, Leola M. Frahm; one daughter, Phyllis (Mrs. Ben) Swanson of Grand Island; one son, Larry Frahm of Lincoln; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Laura Chloupek of Wahoo and Dorothy Anderson of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter and three brothers, Edward, Harvey and Elmer.
Ruby Dority
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Ruby C. Dority, 87, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Albion, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion. The Rev. Frank Baumert will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Albion.
There will be no visitation.
Mrs. Dority was born on Sept. 1, 1911, at Albion to Jesse and Caroline (Grossneklaus) Curren. She attended Albion public schools, graduated from Albion High School and attended Wayne State Teachers College.
She married
Joseph Dority. They lived in Boise, Idaho. Mr. Dority died in Boise. Mrs. Dority lived with her sister, Catherine, in Oklahoma City for several years and recently entered St. Ann's Nursing Home.
She was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Catherine Di Piano of Norman, Okla., and Dorothy Hayhurst of Mesa, Ariz.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James and William.
'Jerry' Thuernagle
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho -- Gerald George "Jerry" Thuernagle, 51, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, formerly of Grand Island, died of Lou Gehrig's disease Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at his home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Idaho Falls Latter-day Saints Skyline Ward. Bishop Howard Stewart will officiate. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park in Idaho Falls with military rites by the Booneville County Veterans Team.
Visitation will start at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Wood Funeral Home in Idaho Falls is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thuernagle was born on Dec. 13, 1947, at Fort Morgan, Colo., to Clyde Clayton and Bernice Vesta (Burmood) Thuernagle. He lived in Sheridan, Wyo., in his early years before his family moved to Grand Island, where he attended school. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1966.
He entered the U.S. Navy's Nuclear Submarine Force and served as an E6 MM1 SS during the Vietnam War. He spent five years at the Hawaii sub base and was discharged in 1974. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in microbiology in 1976. He completed graduate work in biochemistry in 1978.
He married
Ruth Adele Stosich on March 17, 1970, at Idaho Falls. After he was discharged, they moved to Idaho Falls, where they lived most of their lives. They also lived in Pittsburgh for three years. He was a manager at the Naval Reactors Facility for Westinghouse at Idaho National Environmental Engineering Laboratory until he went on disability in August 1997.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as stake mission president, elders quorum president and counselor, stake Sunday school president, scoutmaster and ward mission leader.
He enjoyed writing and reading poetry, music and drama, as well as woodcarving, hunting, gardening, chess, the outdoors and athletics, especially his children's activities. He also was Skyline High School Booster Club president.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, J. Jonathan, Andrew and Oliver, all of Pocatello, Idaho, and Clayton of Idaho Falls; three daughters, Gretchen (Mrs. Erik) Peterson of Arcata, Calif., Emily and Kathryn, both of Idaho Falls; one grandchild; and his mother.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Lillie Middagh
Lillie N. Middagh, 71, of Grand Island died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Her body was cremated. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Grand Island.
Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Kyli Coffin
LOUP CITY -- Kyli Sue Coffin, 3-month-old daughter of Marty and Tami Coffin of Loup City, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998.
Services are pending at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City.
Louis Lesiak
FULLERTON -- Louis A. Lesiak, 85, of Fullerton died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fullerton. The Rev. Don Cleary will officiate. Burial will be in the Fullerton Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday with a 4:30 p.m. family rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton. Further visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Lesiak was born on May 7, 1913, at Fullerton to Thomas and Agnes (Shotkoski) Lesiak. He attended country school.
He married
Bernice Jazwick on Sept. 7, 1943, at Tarnov. They farmed east of Fullerton. They moved into Fullerton in 1987.
He enjoyed farming, cattle and woodworking.
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Robert of Las Vegas, N.M., Ronald of Smyrna, Ga., Tom of Clarks, Dale and Ken, both of Fullerton, and John of Central City; five daughters, Mary Liebig of Columbus, Rose (Mrs. Leland) Zlomke of Beatrice, Susan (Mrs. Bob) Malander of Belgrade, Karen (Mrs. Jerry) Niewohner of Albion and Jane (Mrs. Arlen) Francis of Holdrege; 39 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Alex, Leo, Ed and Joseph; and one sister, Domicella Rosenthal.
Darwin Poss
Elba -- Darwin D. Poss, 63, of Elba died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at the Saunders County Hospital in Wahoo.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Martha Voigt will officiate. Burial will be in the Elba Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Peter's Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the Elba Fire Department and Rescue Unit.
Mr. Poss was born on Sept. 16, 1935, northeast of Cotesfield to Fred and Grace (Gydesen) Poss. As a young child, he moved with his family to a farm in Greeley County. He attended Greeley County rural schools and then farmed with his family.
He married
Jean M. Dwinell on March 6, 1955, at the United Methodist Church in Bartlett. The couple first farmed southeast of Scotia and moved in 1963 to a farm east of Elba, where he lived the rest of his life.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Elba.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Karalyn (Mrs. Nick) Lewis of Ravenna; four sons, Marvin, Dennis and Galen, all of Elba, and Larry of St. Paul; 16 grandchildren; his father, of Scotia; three brothers, Melvin and Donald, both of Scotia, and Kenneth of Greeley; and one sister, Erma (Mrs. Bill) Neel of North Loup.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Poss; his mother; and an infant brother, Richard Poss.
