Rudolph Wegner
FULLERTON -- Rudolph William Wegner, 97, of Fullerton, formerly of Denver, died Friday, Oct. 9, 1998, at Central Nebraska Rehab Center in Fullerton.
Servcies will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Olingers-Chapel Hill Mortuary in Littleton, Colo. Burial will be in Chapel Hill cemetery in Littleton.
Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton and Olingers-Chapel Hill Mortuary in Littleton, Colo. are in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wegner was born Dec. 14, 1900, to August and Martha (Fullner) Wegner in Stanton County. He attended Lutheran school in Stanton. He later farmed in Madison County.
He married
Minnie Kamrath on June 30, 1926, in Madison. They lived in Madison until 1927 when they moved to Lincoln, where he worked at Iowa-Nebraska Light and Power Co. until 1949. He retired then and moved to Denver, where he was involved in real estate for several years. Minnie Wegner died in 1994. He moved to Central Nebraska Rehab Center in Fullerton in 1996.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Denver.
He enjoyed fishing and traveling.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Gordon) Scheer of Littleton, Colo. and Joan (Mrs. Vic) Wassermann of Fullerton; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Richard; an infant daughter; four brothers and one sister.
Roger Hale Jr.
OMAHA -- Roger A.E. Hale Jr., 24, of Omaha died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998, as the result of a one-vehicle accident near Kearney.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton. The Rev. Paul Banitt will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenwood cemetery in Creighton. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton.
Brockhaus Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hale was born on Feb. 4, 1974, to Roger Sr. and Barbara (Lally) Hale in Portland, Ore. He was educated in West Linn, Ore., and attended Greenville High School in Michigan from 1991 to 1993. He graduated from West Linn High School.
He moved to Creighton in June 1994 and attended Wayne State College from 1994 to 1997. He moved to Omaha and was an honor student at the University of Nebraska at Omaha majoring in business and education. He volunteered as an instructor for the American Red Cross.
Survivors include his parents; a sister, Kimberly "K.Lee" Hale of Phoenix, Ariz.; and his grandmother, Alvena Hale of Vermillion, S.D.
Raymond Zarek
COLUMBUS -- Raymond Zarek, 31, of Columbus died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus.
Services are pending with Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton.
'Bill' Sorensen
BOELUS -- Willie "Bill" Sorensen, 89, of Boelus died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998, at the Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Methodist Church in Boelus. The Rev. Alan Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Ebenezer cemetery near Boelus.
There will be no visitation. Jacobsen Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the family's choice.
Mr. Sorensen was born on Dec. 14, 1908, on the family farm near Nysted to Soren and Emma (Sorensen) Sorensen. As a very young man, he moved with his family to Rockville. He was educated and grew up on the family farm in the Rockville area. He farmed with his father.
He married
Gertrude Bernhagen on Feb. 1, 1933, near Boelus. The couple first farmed near Rockville. Later they moved to Boelus, where he worked in a mechanic garage with his brother-in-law. Later he and his brother-in-law operated a trucking business. He later sold seed corn in the Boelus area until his retirement.
He was a past mayor of Boelus, served on the Boelus State Bank board of directors and also served on the Grace Methodist Church board.
He was a member of Grace Methodist Church of Boelus.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Jeannae Eriksen of St. Paul; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one infant daughter and one brother, Arthur.
Jack Krantz
Lake Havasu City, Ariz. -- Jack Krantz, 67, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at Lake Havasu City.
No services will be held. Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Krantz was born on Dec. 13, 1930, at Torrinton, Wyo. He was an insurance agent in Moreno Valley, Calif., for 13 years before moving to Lake Havasu City. He was a 27-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge and Eagles and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; two sons, Michael of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Kelly of Etiwanda, Calif.; one grandchild; one brother, Gary Krantz of Texas; one sister, Penny Potter of Aurora.
'Alex' Alexander
"Alex" Grover Alexander, 79, of Grand Island died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at the Greater Nebraska Health Center, Grand Island Chapter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Harms will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
A memorial fund will be established to the Greater Nebraska Health Center, Grand Island Chapter.
Mr. Alexander was born on Sept. 12, 1919, at St. Paul to Alva and Jessie (Gaast) Alexander. He grew up and was educated in St. Paul and graduated from St. Paul High School.
He entered the U.S. Army on Jan. 5, 1943, served in the Pacific theater during World War II and was discharged on Jan. 29, 1946.
He married
Matilda "Tillie" Pauly on Dec. 17, 1949, in Grand Island. Mr. Alexander worked for McElroy Heating and Air Conditioning, Jerry's Sheet Metal and the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant, where he retired in 1981.
He was a member of the Platt-Duetsche, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Eagles. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading. He was an avid baseball fan.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Cheryl Linden of Holdrege; one stepdaughter, Charlotte Harders of Wood River; one stepson, Gary McAllister of Grand Island; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruby Alexander of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Angeline Leth, Berniece Alexander and Esther Alexander.
Roy Davis Jr.
Roy O. Davis Jr., 74, of Grand Island died Friday, Oct. 9, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Don Larmore will officiate.

Mr. Davis was born on Dec. 11, 1923, at Cheyenne, Wyo., to Roy Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth (Null) Davis.
He entered the U.S. Navy on March 5, 1942, served during World War II and was discharged on Nov. 11, 1945.
He married
Mary Marsh on July 7, 1945, at Grand Island. The couple lived in Grand Island, where he worked for Gamble-Robinson. He later worked for Ulry-Talbert as a driver.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife and one sister, Alice Godwin of Lincoln.
