Mildred Miller
AURORA - Mildred Mae Miller, 68, of Aurora died unexpectedly Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, in Springfield, Mo., where they were vacationing.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Aurora Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Jim Garfield will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Mrs. Miller was born on Aug. 10, 1930, at Farwell to Christ and Petra (Petersen) Miller. She grew up and attended school at Farwell and then cared for her ailing mother at St. Paul until her mother's death in 1955. Later she worked as a telephone operator in Grand Island.
She married
Raymond Miller on Feb. 17, 1963, at Osceola. They lived in Osceola, where she worked as a nurse's aide at the hospital. They moved to Aurora in 1969, and she worked as a cook at the Aurora Public Schools. She was head cook at the Leadership Center in Aurora for the past 15 years.
She was a member of the Aurora Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard of Central City and Nathanael of Aurora; one daughter, Susan Miller of Elkhorn; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Reta Seery
CAIRO - Reta M. Seery, 96, of Cairo died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998, at the Mother Hull Home in Kearney.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Cairo United Methodist Church. The Rev. Alan Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant cemetery at Cairo.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Apfel Funeral Home in Cairo.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the Cairo Quick Response Team.
Mrs. Seery was born on Aug. 10, 1902, at Green Castle, Mo., to Royal and Onda (Snyder) Bishop. When she was a young child, the family moved near Boelus, where she was educated.
She married
Eddie Seery on March 18, 1924, at Council Bluffs, Iowa. The couple moved to a farm near St. Michael. They retired in 1980 and moved into Cairo. Mr. Seery died in November 1988.
Mrs. Seery was a member of the Cairo United Methodist Church, Ladies Aid and St. Michael's Thimble Club.
Survivors include one brother, John Bishop of Salem, Ore.; and one sister, Onda Scott of Prosser.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one infant daughter and another daughter, Sharon Burton, in 1983.
Willie Sorensen
BOELUS - Willie Sorensen, 89, of Boelus died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998, at the Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.
Jacobsen Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Clara Garrison
FREMONT - Clara C. Garrison, 94, of Fremont died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at the Fremont Care Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. The Rev. Leland Foreman will officiate.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Grand Island.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Fremont and to the Nebraska Kidney Foundation.
Mrs. Garrison was born on Sept. 30, 1904, in Grand Island to Ernest and Augusta (Kr'ger) Dibbern. As a small child, she moved with her family to a farm near Wood River.
When she was ready for school at the age of 5, she moved in with her maternal grandparents in Grand Island. She moved to a farm near Wood River in 1930 and to Kearney in 1952. There she worked at the state hospital. She moved to Fremont in 1973.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fremont and a former member of the First Baptist Church in Grand Island.
Survivors include one daughter, Dolores (Mrs. Elmer) Johnson of Phrump, Nev.; three sons, Kenneth of Tampa, Fla., Roderick of Las Vegas and Jerome of Fremont; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Caroline Sass and Eleanor (Mrs. Clarence) Petzoldt of Grand Island; and three brothers, Harold of Central City, Lawrence of Richland, Wash., and Leonard of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene; a granddaughter; and five brothers.
Edwinna Krous
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Edwinna Bell Krous, 70, of Grand Junction, Colo., formerly of Loup City and Ord, died Oct. 5, 1998, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction.
Mrs. Krous was born on Feb. 11, 1928, at Ord to Earl and Eliza (Finlay) Burson. She attended school in Nebraska and obtained a culinary certificate from Mesa State College.
She married
Calvin Krous on April 8, 1956, at Loup City. The couple vacationed in Grand Junction about 42 years ago and liked it so well they stayed there. She was a cook and baker for St. Mary's Hospital and worked there for 30 years before retiring.
She attended Central Orchard Mesa Community Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 4663. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and helping other people.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Ed of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Ella (Mrs. Dewayne) VanHoozer of Houston and Carol (Mrs. Mike) LaBrenz of Grand Junction; five grandchildren; two brothers, Ivan Burson of Central City and Wayne Burson of Grand Island; and two sisters, Evelyn Sinkler of Burwell and Ima Jean Krous of Harvard.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter and two brothers, Ernest and Leroy.
George Radenbaugh
MESA, Ariz. - George Radenbaugh, 78, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Grand Island, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998, at Valley Lutheran Hospital in Mesa.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Elizabeth Bauer
Elizabeth K. Bauer, 92, of Grand Island died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1998, at Park Place Health Care and Rehab Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra, Mo. The Rev. David Johnson will officiate.
Forrest Jaeger
Forrest A. Jaeger, 88, of Grand Island died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1998, at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Jose Chavez will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., Friday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the cathedral or Central Catholic Foundation.
Mr. Jaeger was born on Aug. 16, 1910, at Dyersville, Iowa, to Anton and Blanche (Nichols) Jaeger. He grew up and was educated in Dyersville. He later attended McCarie School in Chicago.
He married
Clara Elizabeth Michele on Sept. 11, 1932, at Arnold. They lived in Grand Island. Mr. Jaeger owned the Jaeger Dental Lab Co. He sold the company in 1970 but continued to work there until his death. Mrs. Jaeger died on May 26, 1982.
Mr. Jaeger was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and a 50-year member of Knights of Columbus Council 1159.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat A. Kehm of Grand Island and Betty M. Miller of Omaha; three sons, James R. of Willard, Mo., and Michael F. and Dan G., both of Grand Island; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Doris Ostwinkle of Worthington, Iowa.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Norma Jean Jaeger; two grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Jaeger.
