Neil Walker

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A. Neil Walker, 96, formerly of Gibbon, died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, in Colorado Springs, where he had lived since 1987.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gibbon Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Flynn officiating. Burial will be in Gibbon Riverside Cemetery. No visitation is planned.

Godberson Mortuary of Gibbon/Shelton is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Walker was born on Dec. 10, 1901, at Gibbon to Samuel T. and Martha Z. Walker. He grew up in the area and attended Gibbon High School. He was a farmer and rancher.

He married Zella E. Bates in May 1924. They lived on the Walker farm north of Gibbon. She died in 1930. The family moved to Broadwater in 1933. There he met and married Myrtle Mitchell in 1934. They moved to Homedale, Idaho, in 1939, where they lived until 1966.

He was a member of the Idaho National Guard and Odd Fellows.

Survivors include one son, James of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Elsie Sprague and Mary Kirstine; two brothers, Roy and Ray; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Myrtle Nation.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; two sons, John "Jack" and Charles, who died in World War II.

Beulah Andersen

AURORA -- Beulah Andersen, 87, of Aurora died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at her home in Aurora.

Higby Mortuary in Aurora is in charge of arrangements.

Wilbert Anderson

BRADY -- Wilbert D. Anderson, 74, of Brady died Friday, March 12, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Svea Dal Covenant Church in Brady. The Rev. Ken Sawyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Svea Dal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Blase Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg.

Memorials are suggested to the Svea Dal Covenant Church or Gideons International.

Mr. Anderson was born March 31, 1924, in North Platte to Henning and Alice (Sreaves) Anderson. He attended Wickstrom School.

He married Norrene E. Bratten, Dec. 14, 1949, at Svea Dal Covenant Church. He farmed in Wild Horse Valley for most of his life. In addition, he worked for the State Department of Roads from 1971 to 1977. He operated a road maintainer for the Lincoln County Road Department from 1977 to 1989, when he retired.

He was a member of the VFW, Svea Dal Covenant Church for 60 years and Gideons International.

Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Linda (Mrs. Monty) Bowman, Carolyn (Mrs. Boyd) Hicken, Michelle (Mrs. Bryan) Hecox, all of Gothenburg, Jeanette (Mrs. Scott) Thomas of Fort Collins, Colo., and Joyce (Mrs. Jack) Miettinen of Grand Island; three brothers, Ray of Holdrege, Delmar of Brady and Wendel of Omaha; one sister, Jewel (Mrs. Forrest) Johnson of Farnam; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn, Verlin and Cecil.

Gordon Ruttman

NELSON -- Gordon M. Ruttman, 64, of Nelson died Saturday, March 13, 1999.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Christian Church in Clay Center. The Revs. John Green and Loren Daly will officiate. Burial will be in the Nelson Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Klawitter-Price Funeral Home in Nelson.

Memorials are suggested to the Clay Center Christian Church or to the family.

Mr. Ruttman was born March 16, 1934, near Nelson to Howard Ruttman and Margery (Newhouse) Ruttman. From the age of 8, he was raised by his grandparents, Frank and Calla Ruttman. He graduated from Nelson High School in 1952.

He married Clara Whithorn at the Angus Church of Christ on Aug. 16, 1953.

He was a lifetime farmer and mechanic, living most of his life just a few miles from his birthplace.

He was a long time member and leader of the Angus Church of Christ until its closing. As a member of the Clay Center Christian Church he served as deacon, board member and general repairman.

Survivors include his wife; one son Gerry of Grand Island; four daughters, Cindy (Mrs. Phil) Wicke of Greeley, Colo., Cheryl (Mrs. John) Green of Clay Center, Carol (Mrs. Lew) Stancer of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and Connie (Mrs. Jason) Mathews of Grand Island; one brother, Ron of Elgin, Ill.; three sisters, Jeryne Goodrich of Hebron, Linda (Mrs. Darrell) Hoins of Superior, Lorene (Mrs. Marvin) Drohman of Hebron; and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Larman and Billy.

Naida Watson

ALBION -- Naida Margret Watson, 68, of Albion died Thursday, March 11, 1999, at BryanLGH Medical Center in Lincoln.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Church of Christ in Albion. The Revs. Mary Avidano and Vernon Knight will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Prospect View cemetery in Pierce. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion.

Miss Watson was born Feb. 21, 1931, to Willard and Helen (V'cks) Watson at Pierce. She was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Pierce. She was educated at Pierce Public Schools and graduated as valedictorian of the Pierce High School, class of 1949. She attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she was a member of the UNL Marching Band. She graduated in 1953.

She taught music at Beemer Public Schools until 1961 when she began teaching junior high music classes at Lincoln. She later moved to Bemidji, Minn., where she taught until 1976 when she moved to Albion. She taught music at Spalding Public School and Spalding Academy.

She was church organist for the United Church of Christ in Albion and had also served as organist at St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Albion since November 1987.

Survivors include three sisters, Shirley Spitser of Pawnee City, Marilyn Watson of Gaithersburg, Md., and Alyce Watson of Lincoln; and one brother, Charles Watson of Pierce.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Eldon Watson and one sister, Lois Buehrer.

Adella Jankovitz

BRUNSWICK, GA. -- Adella Jankovitz, 92, formerly of Aurora, died Friday, March 12, 1999, in Brunswick, Ga.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Aurora Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Garfield will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Higby Mortuary in Aurora.

Mrs. Jankovitz was born May 11, 1906, in New York State to Harry and Jennie Deming. When she was 11 years old, she came to Nebraska on an orphan train and resided with Louie and Effie Luthy in Aurora.

She married Ross Coffey, who died in 1927.

She married George Jankovitz on Oct. 17, 1928, in St. Paul. They lived in Chapman and later moved to Aurora. He died in 1974. She later moved to Georgia to be near her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorlene Hopkins of Brunswick, Ga.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandson.

Mary Frahm

Mary K. Frahm, 97, of Park Place Health Care and Rehab Center died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at Park Place.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Kleine Funeral Home. The Rev. Douglas Stensby will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the family

Harold Harder

Harold J. Harder, 70, of Grand Island died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at Park Place Health Care and Rehab Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Russell will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kleine Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to the church.
