James Morrison
TUCSON, Ariz. -- James Morrison, 85, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Grand Island, died March 5, 1999, in Tucson.
Services were in Tucson with Brings Chapel in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Morrison was born on April 9, 1913, in Greeley County near Wolbach to Hans and Mary Morrison. He farmed with his father there. As a young man, he moved with his family to Grand Island. He worked for Perry Used Cars.
He married
Lucille Zlomke in 1941. They moved to Los Angeles, where he worked in the shipyards until he entered World War II. He served in Europe. After the war, he returned to California and managed a plywood company. He moved to Tucson after retiring.
His wife died in March 1982.
Mr. Morrison married
Jean Dille in 1983.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; one daughter, Donna Waid; six stepsons; two granddaughters; and three sisters, Hanna Reynolds of Denver and Florence Christensen and Pearl Bader of Grand Island.
Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Julius.
Arnold Bosselman
Arnold C. Bosselman, 91, of Chrysalis Lutheran Homes died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at St. Francis Skilled Care.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Messiah Lutheran Church. The Revs. Gretchen Diers and Martin G. Schr'der will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. Mr. Bosselman was cremated. Kleine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Guy Deal
Guy E. Deal, 77, of 804 N. Boggs was found dead Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at his home.
Services are pending with Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Cora Johnson
Cora B. Johnson, 93, of Grand Island died Tuesday, February 23, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services are pending with Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
'Jack' Burch
FULLERTON -- Alvin "Jack" Burch, 82, of Fullerton died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church in Fullerton with the Rev. Jim Howland officiating. Burial will be in the Fullerton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Masonic and Eastern Star service, Wednesday at Palmer's Funeral Home in Fullerton.
Kenneth Hopper
GIBBON -- Kenneth Eugene Hopper, 42, of rural Gibbon died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Godberson Mortuary in Gibbon. The Rev. Larry Booze will officiate. Burial will be on Friday in Memorial cemetery in Fremont.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Hopper was born on Aug. 29, 1956, in Fremont to Gary and Edith (Banghart) Hopper. He grew up in Fremont and moved to Kearney in 1970. He graduated from Kearney High School in 1974.
He married
Lori Ann Warta on Dec. 18, 1977, in Kearney. He was self-employed in the drywall trade. They moved to their home south of Gibbon in 1996.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Nickolas at home; one daughter, Amanda at home; his father and stepmother, Gary and Nancy Hopper of Fremont; his stepfather and mother, J.D. and Edith Palmer of Fremont; a stepbrother, Jay Palmer of Shelby; a sister, Connie Hicks of Alliance; and three stepsisters, Marsha Brown of Valley, Marlyce Scott of Apple Blossom Lane, N.C., and Kim Blumm of Mountain View, N.C.
Agnes Krick
SPALDING -- Agnes M. Krick, 77, of Spalding died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at Friendship Villa in Spalding.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spalding. The Rev. Frank H'lck will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m., with rosaries at 4:30 and 8 p.m., Wednesday at Dolce Scheef Mortuary.
Mrs. Krick was born on Jan. 5, 1922, on a farm northwest of Spalding in Wheeler County to Herman and Viola (Chaudoin) Seaman. She attended grade schools in Wheeler County, Greeley County and Litchfield. She moved with her family to California and returned to the Spalding area with her family.
She married
Joseph Krick on Oct. 5, 1943, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spalding. They farmed west of Spalding until his death on Nov. 27, 1990. She remained on the farm with her sons until entering Friendship Villa in July 1996.
She was a member of St. Ann's Altar Society.
Survivors include one daughter, Lucille Schneider of Cody; five sons, Louis of Spalding, Edward of Neligh, Raymond of Grand Island, David of Cody and Lawrence of Primrose; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Bernard Seaman of Zillah, Wash., C.F. Seaman of Spalding and Andrew Seaman of Omaha.
Hans Lauritsen
DANNEBROG -- Hans Lauritsen, 91, of Dannebrog died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at the Howard County Community Hospital.
Services are pending at Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Helen Olsen
BROKEN BOW -- Helen Elizabeth Olsen, 83, of Broken Bow died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow. Gene Goben will officiate. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
A memorial has been established to the Church of Christ in Broken Bow.
Mrs. Olsen was born on May 21, 1915, on a ranch 12 miles northeast of Seneca to James Arthur and Agnes Lenora (Knudsen) Claybaugh. She attended school at Thedford and Seneca and graduated from Seneca High School.
She married
James G. Olsen on Oct. 22, 1949, at Taylor. They farmed and ranched in the Sargent area. They later lived in Broken Bow. Mr. Olsen died on Nov. 16, 1990.
Mrs. Olsen was a member of the Church of Christ in Broken Bow.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty (Mrs. Don) Rejda of Burwell; one son, James of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Clayton and Loren; one daughter, Stella; and one sister.
Pauline Scott
BROKEN BOW -- Pauline Scott, 83, of Broken Bow, formerly of Anselmo, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow. The Rev. Doug Jones will officiate. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Fort McPherson National cemetery at Maxwell.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Winters Library in Anselmo.
