Violet S. Myers
SARGENT -- Violet S. Myers, 88, of Sargent died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at the Sargent Health and Rehab Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rhoad Funeral Home Chapel in Sargent. The Rev. Murry Johnston will officiate. Burial will be in Somerford cemetery southwest of Sargent.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Sargent Rescue Unit.
Mrs. Myers was born on Nov. 22, 1910, in Burwell to Herman and Nellie (Stump) Ronzzo. She went to school in Burwell, graduating from Burwell High School.
She married
Glen Adams on Nov. 2, 1930, at Burwell. She moved to Sargent immediately after the marriage and was a sales clerk at Beranek's Drug Store in Sargent.
Mr. Adams was a rural mail carrier. Mr. Adams died on March 26, 1959, and Mrs. Adams then took over his mail route. She carried mail and clerked at the Sargent Sale Barn.
The couple raised a boy, Norman Andrews.
She married
Glenn H. Myers on Dec. 1, 1971. She continued her mail route until the mid 1970s. The couple spent their winters in Scottsdale, Ariz., and lived in Sargent until 1985. Mr. Myers preceded her in death.
She was an avid bridge player.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Darlene (Mrs. John) Glenn of Washtucna, Wash.; 10 step grandchildren; 20 step great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Wanda Cantrell; three brothers, Virgil, Berness and an infant; and two sisters, Juanita Lamb and Wilma Brandt.
Samuel Roy
WOOD RIVER -- Samuel J. Roy, 15, of Wood River died in an auto accident Saturday, May 1, 1999, near Wood River.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Abundant Life Christian Center in Grand Island. The Rev. Steve Warriner will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Samuel was born on Oct. 9, 1983, at Grand Island to Michael and Lisa (Pascoe) Roy. He grew up and was educated in Wood River. He was a freshman at Wood River Rural High School.
He was a member of Abundant Life Christian Center. He enjoyed math and art classes in school, skateboarding, being with family and friends at Timber Lake Ranch Family Camps and helping his father work on the house.
Survivors include his parents, of Wood River; one brother, Adam of Wood River; two sisters, Katie Roy and Erin Roy, at home; his grandfather, Ernest Roy Sr. and grandmother, Marilyn Roy.
He was preceded in death by a grandfather and a grandmother.
Charles Schamp
AURORA -- Charles W. "Chuck" Schamp, 47, of Aurora died Friday, April 30, 1999, at BryanLGH Medical Center East in Lincoln.
Mr. Schamp was cremated. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cottonwood cemetery in Burwell. The Rev. Murry Johnston will officiate.
Eberle-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell is in charge of arrangements.

MaryAnne Swann
ALBION -- MaryAnne J. Swann, 70, of Albion died unexpectedly Friday, April 30, 1999, at her home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Albion with the Rev. Terry Otto officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Albion.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion.
Mrs. Swann was born on Sept. 2, 1928, at Albion to Harold and Olive (Stromp) Sherburne. She attended Boone County District 30 School northwest of Akron and graduated from Albion High School in 1946.
She attended a technical college for two years in Omaha, where she worked for Mutual of Omaha and a phone company.
She married
Tom Cronland in 1949 in Omaha, and they moved to Los Angeles.
She married
Gerald Swann in 1961 in Los Angeles. In 1971, she and her son moved to Grand Island, where she worked as a secretary for Swift Packing Co. She returned to Albion in 1975 and worked for the Federal Housing Administration for the next 23 years until her retirement in 1995.
She was a member of Akron Presbyterian Church and had been a member of the First United Methodist Church since returning to Albion. She had been a member of the Albion Country Club, where she served on the entertainment committee. She was a member of the Albion Board of Adjustments. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and served as a junior vice president. She was one of the Comin' Uptown Players and served as treasurer for it and the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Steve Swann of Kingsland, Ga.; three grandchildren; and one brother, Marion Sherburne of Albion.
She was preceded in death by one infant sister, Lorraine.
Claire Widman
CENTRAL CITY -- Iva Claire Widman, 94, of Central City died Monday, May 3, 1999, at Integrated Health Services in Central City.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Solt Funeral Home in Central City. The Rev. Nelson Newman will officiate. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Widman was born on June 28, 1904, in Merrick County to William and Joseph (Farrel) Harris. She grew up in the Merrick County area, attending District 39 and Central City schools.
She married
Samuel Embree Widman on Oct. 6, 1926, in Central City. The couple moved to Lincoln for Mr. Widman's job and then to North Platte in the early 1950s. They spent a few years in Colorado and then moved to Central City in the late 1960s.
Mr. Widman died on Aug. 15, 1973. Mrs. Widman entered Integrated Health Services in 1989.
Mrs. Widman was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She enjoyed flowers, fishing and doing housework.
Survivors include one brother, Mike Harris of Central City; and two sisters, Belle Atwood and Helen Harris of California.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
Tami Brundage
GOTHENBURG -- Tami Dee Brundage, 29, of Gothenburg died Sunday, March 2, 1999, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Gothenburg with the Rev. David Fowler officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Mount Pleasant cemetery in Cairo.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo. Apfel Funeral Home of Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to Holt International Children's Services or the family's choice.
Mrs. Brundage was born on March 1, 1970, in Seoul, Korea. She was adopted at the age of 8 months by Dick and Darlene (Toland) Harders from Holt International Children's Services.
She grew up in the Cairo area and graduated from Centura High School in 1988. She graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1992 with degrees in social work, sociology and anthropology.
She married
Devin Brundage on June 20, 1992, at the Cairo United Methodist Church. The couple moved to Gothenburg, where she worked as a Child Protective Service worker for the Nebraska Department of Social Services. In 1996, she left to start a family.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gothenburg and the United Methodist Women. She was director of vacation Bible school, a youth group leader and coached softball.
She enjoyed swimming, tennis, cooking and doing crafts.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Braeden of Gothenburg; her parents, of Cairo; and two brothers, Shawn Harders and Todd Harders of Cairo.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Tonya; two brothers, Steve Harders and Shayne Harders; and her grandparents.
