Hugo Windolph
SUN LAKES, Ariz. -- Hugo Edgar Windolph, 76, of Sun Lakes, Ariz., formerly of Grand Island, died Dec. 17, 1997, following a lengthy illness.
Services were on Dec. 20 at the Sun Lakes Lutheran Church. The Rev. Harold Teuscher officiated.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the donor's choice.
Valley of the Sun Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Windolph was born on March 14, 1921, in Grand Island to Hugo and Anna (Wetzel) Windolph.
Survivors include his wife.
Tamela Hobbs-Tickle
CAIRO -- Tamela Hobbs-Tickle, 39, of Cairo died Saturday, March 27, 1999, as a result of a car accident in rural Grand Island.
Services are pending at Kleine Funeral Home.
William Gordon
ST. PAUL -- William T. Gordon, 78, of St. Paul died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at his daughter's home in Albuquerque, N.M.
Services are pending with Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul.
Olga Hellbusch
BELGRADE -- Olga F. Hellbusch, 85, of Belgrade died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Peace Lutheran Church near Belgrade. The Rev. Timothy Wagner will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday with a 3:30 p.m. prayer service at Palmer's Funeral Home in Fullerton.
Mrs. Hellbusch was born Aug. 28, 1913, to George and Anna (Hilmer) Siebler at Platte Center. She moved at an early age with her family to Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in 1932.
She married
Walter R. Hellbusch on June 12, 1933, at St. Louis, Mo. They returned to the Belgrade/Cedar Rapids area. In 1943, they bought a farm west of Belgrade and farmed until 1972 when they moved into Belgrade.
She enjoyed sewing, making quilts and crossword puzzles.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Arnold of Stromsburg; two daughters, Marilyn (Mrs. Paul) Schuele of Cedar Rapids and Kathryn (Mrs. Chuck) Ziemba of Fullerton; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Arno Siebler of Columbus, Alvin "Zeke" Siebler of Fremont and Melvin "Pete" Siebler of Omaha; three sisters, Della Hellbusch of Oregon, Edna (Mrs. Richard) Shotoski of Boone and Ethel Johannson of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Walter; one sister, Dorothy Erickson and one granddaughter.
Primo Gutierrez, Jr.
LEXINGTON -- Primo Gutierrez, Jr., 76, of Lexington died Friday, March 26, 1999, at BryanLGH in Lincoln.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ann's Parish Center in Lexington. Rev. Don Buhrman will officiate. Burial will be at St. Ann's Catholic cemetery in Lexington. Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. A wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Ann's Renovation Project, Lexington School Foundation Gutierrez Scholarship Fund or donor's choice.
Mr. Gutierrez was born March 21, 1923, at Josselyn to Primo and Margaret (Duran) Gutierrez, Sr. He attended school at Lexington.
He married
Jennie Silas on Jan. 15, 1942, at Kearney. He was drafted into the Army during World War II on Feb. 9, 1943. He served with the 344th Combat Engineer Battalion, the Fifth and Seventh Army front lines. He served in North Africa and Central Europe, returning to the United State on Oct. 3, 1945. He was involved in five major battles and was decorated with the European-African Middle Eastern Ribbon, five bronze battle stars and a Victory Medal of Honor. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 41 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed Golden Gloves, wrestling, running, game hunting, baseball and softball. He coached girls softball and soccer.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Robert P. of Kansas City, Mo., William H. of Lexington, Jack A. of Columbus; two daughters, Kathleen Gutierrez of Everett, Wash., Judy M. Smith of South Sioux City; two brothers, Santos of Lexington, Martial of Greeley, Colo.; two sisters, Rose (Mrs. Gilbert) Martinez of Cozad, Ann Van Alst of Kansas City, Mo.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ben.
Kathleen Hendrickson Kathleen E. Hendrickson, 77, of Lakeview Rehab/Nursing Center died Friday, May 8, 1998, at the center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kleine Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., with a Scripture wake service at 7 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mary Placke
Mary A. Placke, 87, of Riverside Lodge died Friday, May 8, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center, as the result of a car accident near St. Libory.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Don Larmore will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., with a Scripture rosary and Court Queen of Peace Catholic Daughters rosary at 7 p.m., Sunday at the church. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Mrs. Placke was born on March 10, 1911, at Central City to Patrick E. and Mary Ann (Heaton) Powell. She grew up in the Central City area and graduated from Chapman High School. She attended Nebraska Central College in Central City and later graduated from Kearney State College with a teaching certificate.
Survivors include one son, Robert of Kearney; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathleen Whetstone and Patty Vejvoda; and two brothers, John Powell and Henry Powell.
Teresa Romero De Cardoza
Teresa Romero De Cardoza, 49, of Grand Island died Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at her home.
Services will be at a later date at the Funeraria El Sabino in Durango, Durango, Mexico. Burial will be in Rodeo, Durango, Mexico.
Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
She was born on July 31, 1948, at Animas, Rodeo, Durango, Mexico, to Pedro and Guadalupe (Soto) Romero. She grew up and was educated at Rodeo, Durango, Mexico.
She married
Eliseo Cardoza on Feb. 14, 1971, at Rodeo, Durango, Mexico. The couple lived in Mexico. They lived in Los Angeles from 1972 to 1993. They moved to Grand Island in July 1993, and she was a production worker at Monfort.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Rosa A. Bustamante and Lizette Cardoza, both of Grand Island; one son, Eliseo Cardoza of Grand Island; two grandchildren; her father, of Rodeo, Durango, Mexico; four brothers, Maurilio Romero and Ignacio Romero, both of Los Angeles, Manuel Romero of Grand Island and Ramon Romero of Fort Worth, Texas; and four sisters, Victoria Romero and Rosario Alvarado, both of Los Angeles, Guadalupe Romero of Durango, Mexico, and Maria de la Luz Romero of Rodeo, Durango, Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her mother and an infant sister.
