Fred Hervert
RAVENNA -- Fred Hervert, 76, of Ravenna died Tuesday, April 27, 1999, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Ravenna. The Rev. Rod Pruss will officiate. Burial will be in St. Wenceslaus' cemetery south of Ravenna.
Christian wake services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the church.
Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hervert was born on Aug. 22, 1922, in Buffalo County to Amiel J. and Elizabeth (Chop) Hervert. He was educated at Antelope Valley School and graduated from Ravenna High School in 1939.
He farmed until entering the U.S. Army on Feb. 17, 1945. He was discharged on Sept. 28, 1946.
He married
Sylvia Schuller on July 17, 1945. The couple lived on a farm south of Ravenna.
Mr. Hervert was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lon and Randy, both of Ravenna; one daughter, Christine Geisler of Pleasanton; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, James and Amiel, both of Ravenna; and two sisters, Elsie Guzinski of Ravenna and Mary Bullock of Laramie, Wyo.
Everett Johnson
GIBBON -- Everett Johnson, 73, of rural Gibbon died Monday, April 26, 1999, at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Godberson Mortuary of Gibbon. The Rev. Robert Flynn will officiate. Burial will be in the Gibbon Riverside cemetery with military graveside rites by Gibbon American Legion Bradly Buck Post 310.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Mr. Johnson was born on April 24, 1926, in Cairo to Earl J. and Marguriette M. (Fieldgrove) Johnson. He grew up and was educated in Gibbon.
He helped on the family farm until joining the U.S. Army in 1944. He served in the Asiatic Pacific campaign as well as the European theater. He was discharged in 1946 and returned to Gibbon, where he drove trucks for Rayburn Truck Line, John Van Vleet Farms and Nebraska Turkey Growers.
He married
Norma Benge on Jan. 21, 1951, in Gibbon. He worked for Gibbon Alfalfa Mills and was plant manager for 36 years until it closed. He worked for two years in Indiana at an alfalfa plant before returning to Gibbon, where he worked on a farm for two years.
He worked at Andersen Wrecking in Kearney for the last 11 years before ill health forced his retirement.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, David, Douglas "Sandi" and Robert, all of Gibbon; four daughters, Brenda (Mrs. Neil) Schade of Kearney, Carla (Mrs. Jim) Smallcomb and Judy (Mrs. Mark) Smallcomb, both of Gibbon, and Kristi (Mrs. David) Martensen of Leigh; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Delbert of Wood River; and one sister, Belva Jewett of Holbrook.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, two brothers and one sister.
John Bruner
BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. -- John A. Bruner, 68, of Bullhead City, Ariz., formerly of Grafton, died April 22, 1999, at Western Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City.
Mr. Bruner was cremated.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grafton. The Rev. Darren Green will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Kohler Mortuary in Sutton is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bruner was born on March 12, 1931, near Kola, Neb., to John and Alta (Rockford) Bruner. He attended rural school in Garfield County. He drove a truck for Fairacres Dairy until he entered the restaurant business at Ted's Cafe and Johnny's Cafe in Sutton and the Bar H in Grafton.
He married
Dorothy Wolsleben of Sargent on April 25, 1953, in Central City.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Devona (Mrs. Jerry) Burklund and Sara (Mrs. Larry) Nuss, both of Sutton, Quilla (Mrs. Bill) Ulmer of Aurora and Paige (Mrs. Fred) Reichert of Lincoln; one son, John J. Bruner of Grafton; 12 grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Barthel of Amelia and Donna Thompson of Grand Island.
Barbara Girch
WELDON, Calif. -- Barbara A. Girch, 65, of Weldon, Calif., formerly of Dannebrog, died April 13, 1999, at Weldon.
Services were in California with Valley Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Girch was born on Aug. 25, 1933, at Dannebrog to Niels and Flora Jensen. She had lived at Weldon for 12 years.
She was a member of the Kern Valley Hospital Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 7665 and the 500 Bowling Club.
Survivors include her husband, Don; two daughters, Cami McCluskey of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Shari Siebrecht of Kingman, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
Richard Heinzer
RUSH CITY, Minn. -- Richard Ellsworth Heinzer, 55, of Rush City, Minn., died Saturday, April 24, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Fort McPherson National cemetery at Maxwell with military honors. The Rev. Kevin Lund will officiate.

William Holloway
LANCASTER, Calif. -- William Maurice Holloway, 78, of Lancaster, Calif., formerly of Marquette, died Monday, April 26, 1999, in Lancaster.
Mr. Holloway was born on March 17, 1921, in Marquette to Orville and Emma Holloway.
He lived in Mojave, Calif., and worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad until his retirement.
He married
Marguerite Stafford in November 1976.
Survivors include his wife; two sisters, May Sawyer of Grand Island and Eunice Barber of Carpenteria, Calif.; and two brothers, Russell Holloway and Roy Holloway, both of Aurora.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother.
James Moseman
PORT ORCHARD, Wash. -- James L. Moseman, 52, of Port Orchard, Wash., formerly of Grand Island, died Monday, April 26, 1999, at Port Orchard.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Gollaher Chapel at Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island. The Rev. Jim Keyser will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the donor's choice.
Survivors include his father, Verne Moseman of Wood River; one brother, Gary D. Moseman of Great Falls, Mont.; and a sister, JoAnne Voelker of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Janet Hinman.
Cecil Semm
KINGMAN, Ariz. -- Cecil Wayne Semm, 69, of Kingman, Ariz., formerly of Grand Island, died Monday, April 26, 1999, at the Arizona Heart Hospital in Phoenix.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Kingman. The Rev. Meryl Quembly will officiate.
Mr. Semm was born on July 14, 1929, in Grand Island to Wilbur and Theresa (Stuhr) Semm. At the age of 10, he moved with his parents to Hastings. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1947 and joined the U.S. Air Force in 1949.
He married
Leta Mae Pettigrew on Aug. 9, 1961, in Texas.
Mr. Semm retired from the Air Force after 27 years, serving in England, Germany, Japan, Korea, Iran and several bases in the United States. After retiring, he moved to Kingman, Ariz., where he worked for Kingman Elementary School for 22 years.
He was a member of St. John's Methodist Church in Kingman.
Survivors include one son, Russell of Kingman, Ariz.; two grandchildren; and one brother, Wesley of Kingman.
He was preceded in death by his wife and one brother, Gordon.
