Lucile Korth
HASTINGS -- Lucile J. Korth, 84, of Hastings, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, April 22, 1999, at Good Samaritan Village in Hastings.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids with the Rev. Ralph Steffensmeier officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Levander Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids with a 3 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. wake service. Visitation will resume from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Frank Piskorski
HANSEN -- Frank J. Piskorski, 62, of Hansen died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, in Adams County.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Butler-Volland Chapel in Hastings with the Rev. Walter Bye officiating. Interment of cremains will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ord Catholic cemetery with the Rev. Jim Warner officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the Frank Piskorski Central Community College Scholarship Fund.
Mr. Piskorski was born on March 26, 1937, in Ord to Frank and Gertrude (Bialy) Piskorski. He graduated from Ord High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Navy from May 31, 1955, to May 22, 1959, and from Dec. 21, 1959, to Oct. 3, 1962.
He married
Bonita F. Osborn on April 27, 1967, in Ord. He worked at Central Community College for 31 years.
He was a member of the American Legion in Doniphan and lived in the Hansen area for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Patricia (Mrs. Richard) Keen of Burkesville, Ky.; two sisters, Catherine Turek and Dorothy Butts, both of Ord; and six brothers, Martin of North Platte, Ernest of Lenoir, N.C., Edward of New London, Wis., Tom of Hugo, Colo., George of Ord and John of Omaha.
He was preceded in death by one son, Frank J. Piskorski, and one brother, Richard Piskorski.
Pauline Rohan
SPALDING -- Pauline J. Rohan, 90, of Spalding died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Friendship Villa in Spalding.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spalding. The Rev. Frank Hoelck will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 9 p.m., with rosaries at 4:30 and 8 p.m., Friday at Dolce-Scheef Mortuary.
Mrs. Rohan was born on March 28, 1909, in Spalding to Louis and Louisa (Neis) Krick. She attended District 10 School and Spalding Academy through the 11th grade. She worked on the family farm until 1935.
She married
George Rohan on March 4, 1935, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spalding. They farmed north of Spalding and moved into Spalding in 1973. She continued to be involved in the farm until 1978, when Mr. Rohan died.
Mrs. Rohan was a member of St. Ann's Altar Society.
She is survived by one daughter, Margaret Ann (Mrs. Jack) Glassmaker of Novato, Calif.; three sons, Dennis of Williamsville, N.Y., Louis of Ord and James of Superior; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary (Mrs. Vince) Bauer of Spalding.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, three brothers and two sisters.
Lester Rohde
HAMPTON -- Lester G. Rohde, 86, of Hampton died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church north of Hampton. The Rev. Loren Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Mr. Rohde was born on Sept. 2, 1912, in Hamilton County to Carl and Henrietta (Dose) Rohde.
He married
Norma Smith on March 19, 1937, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Polk. He was a longtime Hamilton County farmer. After retiring from farming in 1976, they moved to Hampton.
He enjoyed crafts and woodworking.
He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church near Hampton.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kathy (Mrs. Bob) Buller of York and Lavera (Mrs. Ron) Martin of Panama; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren; two brothers, Richard and Raymond; and two sisters, Ella Wandersee and Edna Peetske.
Elsie Neth
SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- Elsie M. Neth, 84, of Santa Maria, Calif., formerly of Grand Island, died April 3, 1999.
Services were on April 6 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Santa Maria, Calif. Graveside services were on April 7 at Riverside National cemetery in Riverside, Calif.
Mrs. Neth was born on June 1, 1914, at Grand Island to Alex and Christina (Pauley) Scheibel. She attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from Senior High in 1931. She had worked at Walgreens, Rexall and other businesses in Grand Island.
She married
Alfred "Hap" Neth on Nov. 15, 1941, at Trinity Lutheran Church. They moved to Hawthorne, Calif., where she was a baby sitter and homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Neth of Santa Maria, Calif., and Tonja Badstubner of Ventura, Calif.; one son, Alan Neth of Arroyo-Grande, Calif.; four grandchildren; and one brother, Ruben Scheibel of Santa Marco, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Lydia Chase and Esther Heil; and one brother, Edward Scheibel.
Mark Adams
Mark D. Adams, 43, of Grand Island died on Tuesday, April 13, 1999, in a car accident west of Lexington.
Services are pending with Kleine Funeral Home.
Joyce Pichler
Joyce E. Pichler, 59, of Grand Island died Monday, April 12, 1999, at BryanLGH Medical Center East in Lincoln.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. Alicia Ring will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Pichler was born on Jan. 17, 1940, at Greeley to Heber and Mae (McVay) Bengel. She grew up in the Greeley, Scotia and Grand Island areas. She attended Grand Island Senior High.
She married
Larry L. Pichler on Oct. 18, 1956, at Grand Island. The couple lived in Grand Island throughout their marriage. She was a mother and homemaker.
Mrs. Pichler enjoyed needlework, her card club and working in her flower garden.
Survivors include two sons, Ronnie of Phillips and Rickie of Grand Island; two daughters, Robin Pichler of Grand Island and Roxann (Mrs. Larry) Emde of Phillips; seven grandchildren; one brother, Dean Bengel of Tulsa, Okla.; and two sisters, Bonnie Blacklock of Las Vegas and Judy (Mrs. Bob) Halm of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
