ORD -- Roberta Wilson, 76, of Ord died Monday, May 17, 1999, at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell.
Services are pending at Ord Memorial Chapel.
E. Vincent Martinson
OMAHA -- E. Vincent Martinson, 79, of Omaha died Friday, May 14, 1999.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Covenant Church in Omaha. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Crosby Kunold Burket Swanson Golden Mortuary in Omaha is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested for the church or Methodist Hospice in Omaha.
Mr. Martinson worked for Enron Corp. as a petroleum engineer for 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; one daughter, Dr. Karen (Mrs. John) Higgins of Grand Island; three sons, Keith Martinson of Austin, Texas, Craig Martinson of Billings, Mont., and Clark Martinson of Houston; seven grandchildren; one brother, Dwight Martinson of Wahoo; and two sisters, Marian Martinson of Wahoo and Audrey Rousek of Lincoln.
Gary Onnen
NORFOLK -- Gary L. Onnen, 43, of Norfolk died Saturday, May 15, 1999, of a medical condition at BryanLGH Medical Center East in Lincoln.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Home for Funerals in Norfolk with the Rev. Lee Weander officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.
There will be no visitation.
Mr. Onnen was born on Oct. 31, 1955, at Akron, Iowa, to Donald Sr. and Lorraine (Huls) Onnen. He attended grade school in Akron and high school in Plainview. He worked for Norfolk Transmission, Riverside Ballroom and Classen Manufacturing in Norfolk. He was a member of the Eagles Club.
Survivors include one son, Christopher of Osmond; one daughter, Sheri Onnen of Grand Island; his mother, of Grand Island; three brothers, Donald Onnen Jr. of Lincoln, Dennis Onnen of Grand Island and Greg Onnen of Lincoln; and two sisters, Joyce Onnen of Kingman, Ariz., and Jan Robinson of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Alma Price
OGALLALA -- Alma H. Price, 82, of Ogallala died Saturday, May 15, 1999, at the Ogallala Community Hospital.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. MDT Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Ogallala. The Rev. Ray Norris will officiate.
Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. CDT Thursday at the Ansley Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Draucker Funeral Home in Ogallala.
Mrs. Price was born on Nov. 2, 1916, in Shelton to Josiah and Emma Oglevie Shultz. She attended school in Ansley and graduated from Ansley High School in 1935.
She married
Glen Price on Sept. 4, 1935, in Taylor. They lived in Ansley. They moved to Broken Bow in 1940. In 1945, the couple moved to Ogallala, where Mr. Price worked for the state. He went to work for Nebraska Public Power District later that year.
The Prices opened Price Grocery Store in 1950 and sold it in 1952. Mrs. Price worked at Goodalls and also did seamstress work for Ditto Cleaners in her home.
She was a member of Silver Crescent Rebekah Lodge 232 of Ogallala and was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1945.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Price of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Robert Price of Omaha; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ila Leach of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Donna Rae Parkison of Ansley; and one brother, Pat Shultz of Arcadia.
Her husband died in 1995.
Ray Spencer
SYRACUSE -- Ray Spencer, 78, of Elmwood, formerly of Brewster, died Sunday, May 16, 1999, at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with the Rev. Steve Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Brewster Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
Mr. Spencer was born on April 21, 1921, at Brewster to Harry B. and Edith (Waters) Spencer. He attended grade school at Brewster and was a 1939 graduate of Brewster High School.
He married
Mabel Loy on July 18, 1942, at Ansley. They lived on the family ranch three miles east of Brewster. They purchased the general merchandise store at Brewster in the spring of 1968. They owned and operated it until 1980.
They moved to Elmwood in 1990. He had lived in the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse for the past four years.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Brewster, where he had served as a deacon and Sunday school superintendent. He was also a member of the Brewster school board for many years. The Spencer family received the 100-Year Pioneer Family award.
Survivors include his wife, of Elmwood; one son, Larry Spencer of Stromsburg; two daughters, Eileen (Mrs. Dale) Engelking of South Bend and Beverley (Mrs. Dick) Schaaf of Plattsmouth; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one great-grandson; two brothers, Fred and Ralph Spencer; and three sisters, Etta Miller, Ruth Campbell and Hazel Smith.
Dallas McDonald
GREEN RIVER, Wyo. -- Dallas McDonald, 77, of Green River, Wyo., formerly of Central Nebraska, died Saturday, May 15, 1999, at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Vase Flaming Gorge Chapel in Green River. The Rev. Charles Crim will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery with military graveside services.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. McDonald was born on May 13, 1922, at Horace to Samuel and Pearl C. (Madison) McDonald. He attended schools in Nebraska and graduated from Scotia High School in 1940.
He married
Evelyn Pawleska on May 19, 1944, in Ord. Mr. McDonald served during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a silo operator for FMC for 33 years until his retirement in 1985.
Mr. McDonald was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and USWA No. 13214. He enjoyed baseball and doing yard work.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Earl D. McDonald and Danny J. McDonald, both of Green River; five daughters, Anita (Mrs. Jim) Shoemaker, Debby (Mrs. Charles) Sample, Lisa A. McDonald and Becky A. McDonald, all of Green River, and Peggy (Mrs. Leonard) Mitchell of Sunbury, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his mother, of Lincoln; two brothers, Lyle McDonald of Central City and Gerald McDonald of Cherokee, Iowa; and one sister, Violet Morrow of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Louella Kearns.
Charles Stout
LITTLETON, Colo. -- Charles A. Stout, 85, of Littleton, Colo., died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, in Englewood, Colo.
Services were on Monday at Drinkwine Family Chapel in Littleton. Mr. Stout was cremated.
Mr. Stout was born on Dec. 15, 1913, at Clarksburg, W.Va.
He married
Ann C. Paulsen on Dec. 6, 1945, at Denver. He was an accountant for a railroad.
He was a member of the Denver Astronomical Society; was violinist for BRICO Symphony and Golden Symphony; a music composer; oil painter; and member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Denver.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Charles T. Stout of Denver; one daughter, Marilyn Stout Zarlengo of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; and two sisters, Mary McCarthy of California and Winifred Dozier of Aurora.
Marjorie Goosic
Marjorie A. Goosic, 68, of Grand Island died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. James Schmidt will officiate. Mrs. Goosic's body will be cremated.
