MASON CITY -- Reta Lichtenberger, 60, of Mason City died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at her home.
Services are pending with Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
William Plock
COMSTOCK -- William B. Plock, 83, of Comstock died Friday, April 30, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Mr. Plock was cremated. Private memorial services will be held with the burial in the Douglas Grove cemetery in Comstock.
Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Hazel Reiman
CENTERVILLE, Iowa -- Memorial services for Hazel Jensen Reiman, 87, of Centerville, Iowa, formerly of Arcadia, will be at 2 p.m. May 8 at the Gathering Place in Arcadia.
She died on Nov. 15, 1998, at Centerville. Mrs. Reiman was cremated.
Ann Cortner
LOUP CITY -- Frances Ann Cortner, 64, of Loup City died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, at her home.
Services are pending with Peters Funeral Home of Loup City.
Lucille Marsh
BROKEN BOW -- Lucille Marsh, 82, of Broken Bow, formerly of Ansley, died Friday, July 24, 1998, at Heritage Hall in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Ansley. The Rev. Jim Ferguson will officiate. Burial will be in Douglas Grove cemetery at Comstock.
Visitation will be from noon to service time Thursday at the church. Rhoad Funeral Home of Sargent is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
Mrs. Marsh was born on April 9, 1916, in the Walworth area west of Sargent to George and Lillie (Marsh) Wells. She attended country school west of Sargent, then attended school in Sargent and later in Comstock.
She married
Clarence Marsh on Sept. 16, 1936, in Kearney. They lived west of Arcadia and later moved into Arcadia. They moved to Ansley in 1975. Mrs. Marsh assisted her husband in the oil business. She delivered commodities from Loup City to Ansley from 1975 to 1993.
She attended the Baptist Church of Ansley. The couple moved to Heritage Hall in Broken Bow in August 1997.
Mrs. Marsh is survived by her husband and a brother, Curtis Wells of Milwaukie, Ore.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Clarence Oxford
BROKEN BOW -- Clarence Herbert Oxford, 82, of Broken Bow died Monday, July 27, 1998, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow. The Rev. Walt Collins will officiate Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Oxford was born on Nov. 29, 1915, on a farm near Broken Bow in Custer County to Herbert and Rosa Jane (Deal) Oxford. He attended school in Custer County through the eighth grade.
He married
Katharine Gibson on Aug. 3, 1938, at Taylor. He farmed in the Oconto area for nearly 30 years and worked at Becton Dickinson for 11 of those years before moving to Broken Bow. He also worked at the sale barn as a young man. After moving to Broken Bow, he worked at the landfill.
His hobbies included playing cards and pool. He took great pride in his yard work.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Gene Oxford of Broken Bow, Jerry Oxford of Oconto and and David Oxford of Enders; one daughter, Sheridan Griffith of Broken Bow; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Orville Oxford of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and three sisters, Marie Eggleston of Pine Bluffs, Wyo., and Ruby Glendy and Charlotte Esch, both of Broken Bow.
He was preceded in death by one grandson; one brother, Lawrence Oxford; and one sister Melva Dunkle.
'Cap' James
WAHOO -- Orlando R. 'Cap' James, 90, of Haven House in Wahoo died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, at Haven House.
Services are pending with Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home in Grand Island.
Fay Wall
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Fay M. Wall, 83, of Colorado Springs, Colo., died Sunday, July 26, 1998, at Senior Citizens Acacia Center in Colorado Springs.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Rev. Rob Pearson will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery at St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Comforter in Colorado Springs.
Mrs. Wall was born on Aug. 22, 1914, at Boelus to George and Gertie (Klausen) Clausen. She received her early education and grew up in Howard County. She later taught school there and attended courses at Kearney State Teachers College.
She married
George R. Wall on Nov. 9, 1935, at St. Paul. The couple first farmed with his parents. But due to the Dust Bowl years, they moved to Davenport, Iowa, in 1941. While her husband served overseas in the Marine Corps during World War II, she worked at the Rock Island Arsenal in the drafting department.
She later worked for Bendix Aviation and Quality Control until her retirement. Mr. Wall died in January 1972. Mrs. Wall remained in Davenport, where she cared for her mother. She moved to Colorado Springs in 1982 to live in a home adjoining that of her son Richard.
She enjoyed family gatherings. She liked dancing, playing pinochle, sewing, watching the Colorado Rockies and, above all, gardening.
Survivors include two sons, George Wall of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Dr. Richard Wall of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter Marjorie (Mrs. Thomas) Bingham of Minnetonka, Minn.; three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eight step great-grandcildren; a sister, Georgia Loutfallah of Santa Barbara, Calif.; one brother, Cecil Clausen of Boelus; and a special friend, Willis Kotwica of Colorado Spring, Colo.
Maxine Koenig
Maxine M. Koenig, 84, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at the Lakeview Rehab/Nursing Center in Grand Island.
Services are pending with Kleine Funeral Home.
Dominic Marshalek
Dominic M. Marshalek, 92, of Grand Island died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at the Park Place Nursing Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island. The Rev. Don Larmore will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with a vigil service at 7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Mr. Marshalek was born Dec. 25, 1906, at Elba to Michael and Valaria (Duster) Marshalek. He grew up and received his education in Elba.
He married
Victoria Shuda on Nov. 16, 1937, in Loup City. The couple made their home near Ashton, where he farmed. In 1963, they moved to Grand Island, where he worked for Twin River Egg Plant, Redman's Industries, Leonard McCarty Plumbing and Clarence Shuda Construction.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and enjoyed antique farm shows.
Survivors include his son, Lloyd Marshalek of Grand Island; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Clara Tesmer, Martha Mills, Anna Marshalek and Vernie (Mrs. Clarence) Shuda all of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1987, and four brothers, Martin, Frank, Alex and Stanley.
