James Kozel
RAVENNA -- James Kozel, 77, of Ravenna died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at the Good Samaritan Center in Ravenna.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Rasmussen Mortuary in Ravenna. The Rev. Mark Cadenbach will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery in Ravenna.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the Good Samaritan Center.
Mr. Kozel was born on Sept. 28, 1921, in Sherman County to Charles and Mary (Vacha) Kozel. He was educated in Sherman County.
He married
Ellen Maixner on Nov. 25, 1947, at Ravenna. The couple lived on a farm north of Ravenna. They moved to Cairo in 1971.
Survivors include one son, James Jr. of Maryland Heights, Mo.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife; one grandson; and one sister, Helen.
Edna Lindeburg
HASTINGS -- Edna C. Lindeburg, 92, of Hastings died Friday, April 9, 1999, at Perkins Nursing Home at Good Samaritan Village.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church in Juniata. The Rev. Steven Heinsen will officiate. Burial will be in Concordia cemetery in Juniata.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home in Kenesaw. The family will be present from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will continue one hour before services Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to "The Lutheran Hour."
Mrs. Lindeburg was born on Oct. 27, 1906, at Adams County to William H. and Elizabeth (Nagel) Finnigsmier. She attended District 16 School in Adams County through the sixth grade and attended Christ Lutheran Parochial School in Juniata for two years.
She married
Wolbert F. Lindeburg on Jan. 16, 1929, at the Christ Lutheran Parsonage. He died on June 10, 1982. She moved to Kensington Retirement Home in Hastings four years ago.
Her hobbies included painting, needlepoint, cards and crocheting. She and her husband went to Arizona for the winters for 20 years.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church for 92 years and a member of Ladies Aid, Ladies Aid Kitchen Band and LWML.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Uden of Hastings; and a brother, Carl H. Finnigsmier of Hastings.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Paul, and the Rev. Earl Finnigsmier.
Glenn Condreay
COLUMBUS -- Glenn L. Condreay, 83, of Columbus died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at St. Francis Memorial Health Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Columbus. The Rev. Joseph A. Miksch will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure's cemetery in Columbus. Military rites will be provided by the Hartman Post 84 American Legion Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. vigil, Sunday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation will resume from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Mr. Condreay was born on March 6, 1916, at St. Edward to Sidney and Mabel (Carter) Condreay. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1945.
He married
Ann M. Kleffner on May 6, 1946, at Cedar Rapids. The couple lived in Columbus, where he worked for Cornhusker Public Power District for more than 30 years until he retired.
He was a member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church, Hartman Post 84 American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and Eagles Club. He was a past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3704.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading.
Survivors include his wife; one son, William of Columbus; two daughters, Deb of Monroe and Sharon (Mrs. Gerald) Franzen of Grand Island; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Don of Shertz, Texas; and two sisters, Betty (Mrs. Thomas) Cadwallder of Boat Keys, Fla., and Nadeen (Mrs. Robert) Willis of Albuquerque, N.M.
Randy Lange
ALLIANCE -- Randy Lee Lange, 48, of Alliance died Friday, April 9, 1999, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Alliance. The Rev. Tim Stoner will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery at Alliance.
A wake service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the church. Bates-Gould Funeral Home of Alliance is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Lange was born on Dec. 20, 1950, at Arnold to Dale L. and Maxine L. Lange. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1969.
He married
Rosemarie C. McBride on April 24, 1971, in Grand Island. He moved in 1975 from Grand Island to Alliance, where he was an engineer for the Burlington-Northern Railroad.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Eagles and BLE Union.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Eric of Lincoln and Jeff and Joe of Alliance; one daughter, Amy (Mrs. Ryan) Stone of Alliance; his mother, Maxine VanCleave of Grand Island; one brother, Dennis Lange of Grand Island; and two sisters, Carolyn Lange of Grand Island and Cheryl (Mrs. Richard) Iwanski of Brigham City, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Marjorie Goosic
Marjorie A. Goosic, 68, of Grand Island died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. James Schmidt will officiate. Mrs. Goosic's body was cremated, and there will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Goosic was born on Nov. 6, 1930, at Grand Island to Charles and Marie Johnson. She grew up and attended school in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1949.
She married
Verlon Goosic on March 27, 1949, at Glenwood, Iowa. They lived in Grand Island.
She worked at Jerome's Tee Pee curio shop. She later worked as a clerk for Ace Hardware and J.C. Penney Co. She also worked in the Sears catalog department. She then worked for the Kirby Co. in sales and also did the bookkeeping. She retired from Kirby in 1984.
She was associated with the Presbyterian church and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary.
She enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening and golf.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, David and Steven Goosic, both of Grand Island; one daughter, Kimberlee Vega of Colorado Springs; six grandchildren; two sisters, Tilda Payne of Denver and Janie Smith of Grand Island; and three brothers, Herman, Richard and Marvin Johnson, all of Grand Island.
'Bud' Hendrickson
Harlan E. "Bud" Hendrickson, 77, of Grand Island died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at Grand Island.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daniel Bremer will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran cemetery near Fairbury.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Hendrickson was born on Feb. 27, 1922, at Kensington, Minn., to George and Hilma (Anderson) Hendrickson. He grew up and was educated in Kensington, where he graduated from high school in 1940. He attended Fairbury Junior College.
Mr. Hendrickson served in the U.S. Army from Oct. 14, 1942, to Nov. 8, 1945, and received a Purple Heart.
He married
Lorna Johnson in 1946. She died in 1969.
He married
Leona (Pokorski) Siegel in 1971.
Mr. Hendrickson had been a captain with the Fairbury Police Department and chief of police at Kearney State College. He later moved to Columbus, where he worked for the Becton-Dickinson Co. He retired in 1982. They moved to Grand Island following his retirement. Mrs. Hendrickson died in 1989.
Mr. Hendrickson was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include one son, Dennis Hendrickson of Omaha; four stepsons, James Siegel of Los Angeles, Jerry Siegel of Santa Rosa, Calif., Thomas Siegel of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Robert Siegel of Grand Island; four stepdaughters, Cecila Bales of Glenvil, Virginia Miller of Cheyenne, Wyo., Marge Wallingford of Phoenix and Helen Welch of Fairbury; three grandchildren; 19 step grandchildren; and one sister, Connie Koenig of Buffalo Lake, Minn.
He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Alice Milowski; a grandson; and a brother, Warren Hendrickson.
