Floyd Trotter
BROKEN BOW -- Floyd Trotter, 77, of Broken Bow died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at the Mother Hull Home in Kearney.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow. The Rev. Bob Woodward will officiate. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery.
Visitation will be prior to services Saturday at the mortuary.
Survivors include one son, Teddie Trotter of Broken Bow; and one daughter, Lois (Mrs. Daniel) Carpenter of Kearney.
John Vampola
SCOTIA -- John J. Vampola, 69, of Scotia died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. The Rev. Jim Warner will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord Catholic cemetery with military rites by the Ord Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m., with a rosary at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at Ord Memorial Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Mary Rose
GIBBON -- Mary C. Rose, 74, of Gibbon died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Tucson, Ariz.
Services are pending with Godberson Mortuary of Gibbon-Shelton.
Marion Sorensen
BROKEN BOW -- Marion A. Sorensen, 88, of Broken Bow, formerly of Comstock, died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at the Heritage Hall nursing home in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Comstock. The Rev. Samm Johnston will officiate.
Burial will be in the Douglas Grove cemetery west of Comstock.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent. Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Comstock.
Lorraine Wessos
AURORA -- Lorraine Wessos, 81, of Aurora died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at her daughter's home in Aurora.
Services will be 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Aurora First Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Gary Cepek will officiate. Burial will be in Oceanside, California. There will be no visitation. Higby Mortuary in Aurora is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wessos was born to Herman and Mable (Dornquast) Beede at Owatonna, Minn., on April 3, 1916.
She grew up and was educated in Owatonna, where she lived until 1953. She married
Loren Bethke. The couple had one son. She was widowed and on March 18, 1942, she married
Arthur Wessos.
They moved to Carlsbad, Calif., in 1953, where they lived until they moved to Santa Maria, Calif., in 1981. Mr. Wessos died on July 26, 1997. Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Wessos moved to Aurora in August of 1997 to be near her daughter.
She was a member of Aurora First Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was an active church member all of her life.
She is survived by a son, Dennis Bethke of Santa Maria, Calif., a daughter, Suanne Cepek of Aurora; a sister, Lorinda Mason of Custer, Wash.; eight grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands and two brothers, Roland Beede and Herman Beede Jr.
Robert McGuire
LEXINGTON -- Robert J. McGuire, 71, of Lexington died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998, at the Tri-County Hospital in Lexington.
Services are pending at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Paul Kohls
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Paul Kohls, 86, of Fort Collins, Colo., formerly of Litchfield, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, at his home.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Christian Church in Litchfield. Burial will be in the Litchfield Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Paul J. Kohls Memorial Fund.
Reager Funeral Home in Fort Collins is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Elda; a son, John Kohls of Litchfield; a daughter, Jeanne (Mrs. Daryl) Lutes of Grand Island; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Eunice (Mrs. Don) Evans of Grand Island.
Levi Jackson
Levi Jackson, 89, of Grand Island died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at the St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Karohl will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Research Fund or the donor's choice.
Mr. Jackson was born on April 15, 1909, to Benjamin and Ida (Fears) Jackson at Wheeler County. He grew up at Central City and was educated there.
He married
Murldine Camper on Dec. 6, 1943, at Mankato, Kan. The couple lived in Grand Island where they lived all their married
life. He was employed at the Palace Shoe Shop, Stewart Shoe Shop and Marler Shoe Repair. He then worked at Goodwill Industries before retiring in 1983.
He was a member of the Solomon AME Church and also the Crystal Cathedral.
Survivors include his wife.
He was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.
Mildred Hesselgesser
BROKEN BOW -- Mildred Hesselgesser, 90, of Broken Bow died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at Sandhills Manor in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eberle-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell. Burial will be in Cottonwood cemetery in Burwell.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

GIBBON -- Joseph L. Kriha Sr., of Gibbon, died Saturday June 13, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Hazel Meridith
LENEXA, Kan. -- Hazel Meridith, 90, of Lenexa, Kan., died Friday, June 12, 1998, at Delmar Gardens Nursing Home in Lenexa.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward. The Rev. Ken McQueen will officiate. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
Arlene Smith
Arlene G. Smith, 75, of 3423 W. Kelly died Thursday, July 23, 1998, at her home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home.
Edwin Bangs
DONIPHAN -- Edwin C. Bangs, 79, of Doniphan died Friday, July 24, 1998, at his home after an illness.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Grand Island.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Kleine Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Bangs was born on June 7, 1919, at Grand Island to Laurits and Clara (Criss) Bangs. He grew up and was educated in Grand Island. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Depression and later moved to Burbank, Calif., where he worked for Lockheed Aircraft Co. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II from September 1942 to June 1945.
He married
Jane Whittington Emanuel on July 31, 1943, at San Gabriel, Calif. They lived in Burbank, Calif., where he worked for Lockheed. They moved back to Nebraska in 1948 and farmed in the Phillips area. He retired in 1981.
Survivors include two sons, Loren D. Bangs of Doniphan and Roy N. Emanuel of Aurora; one daughter, Joyce Cornelius of Soldatna, Alaska; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, William and Martin; and two sisters, Sophie and Florence.
Louis Lewandowski
ASHTON -- Louis L. Lewandowski, 85, of Ashton died Friday, July 24, 1998, at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.
