Leahdora Hunsberger
ROUND ROCK, Texas -- Leahdora Hunsberger, 91, of Round Rock, Texas, formerly of Ravenna, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998, in Round Rock.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Ravenna. The Rev. Mark Cadenbach will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Rasmussen Mortuary in Ravenna.
Memorials are suggested to Zion United Methodist Church at Sodtown.
Mrs. Hunsberger was born on Aug. 15, 1907, in Crete to Simon and Minnie (Applegate) Bovey. She graduated from Crete High School in 1925.
She received her teaching certificate from Kearney Teachers College. She taught in rural schools for nine years. She attended Peru State College during the summers and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to become a social worker. She was director of the Child Welfare Department in Lincoln, Hastings and Grand Island.
She married
Ira Hunsberger on Sept. 8, 1940, in Lincoln. She received her bachelor of science in education from Kearney State College in 1966. She taught in the Grand Island public schools for many years. The couple lived in Grand Island until 1969, when they moved to a farm southeast of Ravenna. They moved into Ravenna in 1980.
Mrs. Hunsberger was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, Eastern Star and the Retired Teachers Association. She was a Lioness and was very active in Zion United Methodist Church. She took her first airplane ride with Charles Lindberg at the State Fair.
Survivors include two sons, Theodore Hunsberger of Apple Valley, Minn., and Tim Hunsberger of Round Rock, Texas; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Doraleah Hyland of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, Stephen; two brothers; and three sisters.
Edna Wellsandt
MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho -- Edna M. Wellsandt, 78, of Mountain Home, Idaho, formerly of Grand Island, died Oct. 16, 1998, at the Elmore Memorial Long-term Care Unit in Mountain Home.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island. The Rev. Gretchen Diers will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Wellsandt was cremated, and there will be no visitation.
She was born on Dec. 11, 1919, in Ravenna to Carl and Bertha (Meinecke) Petzoldt. She attended school in the St. Paul area. Following her education, she worked on the family farm and did domestic work.
She married
Robert Wellsandt in 1939 in Grand Island. She worked with her husband in the bakery business, which took them to California in 1949. The couple moved back to Grand Island and then owned and operated the bakery in St. Paul until retiring in 1977. Mr. Wellsandt died on Nov. 17, 1978.
Mrs. Wellsandt was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and belonged to many card clubs.
Survivors include one brother, Alton Petzoldt of Mountain Home, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Elbert.
Marie Pedersen
Marie E. Pedersen, 64, of 630 E. Eilenstine Road, died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Dominic Pecoraro will officiate.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kleine Funeral Home. Mrs. Pedersen will be cremated after the services.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Pedersen was born Oct. 16, 1934, at rural Shelton to Richard and Alma (Cooper) Lowell. She graduated from Shelton High School in 1952.
She married
Orville "Dick" H. Pedersen Sept. 1, 1956, in Gibbon. The couple lived in the Shelton area, and moved to Grand Island in 1972.
Mrs. Pedersen was a homemaker and an Avon Representative for 35 years. She was also the Director of Child Evangelism.
She loved animals and working on her computer.
Survivors include her husband of Grand Island; two sons, Jay Pedersen of Houston and James Pedersen of Phillips; three daughters, Pam Boileau and Myra (Mrs. Duane) Versaw of Grand Island and Laurie (Mrs. Steve) Earnest of Phillips; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lourin Lowell of Green River, Wyo.; three sisters, Dolly Gearhart and Orpha Rockefeller of Gibbon and Edith Liesinger of Gillette, Wyo.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, Richard and Charles.
Janis Penny
SARGENT -- Janis Penny, 66, of Sargent died Friday, April 16, 1999, at the Jenny Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Sargent. The Rev. Marty Robbins will officiate. Mrs. Penny will be cremated.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Vernal Wisely
COLORADO SPRINGS -- Vernal P. Wisely, 49, of Colorado Springs, Colo. died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Denver, Colo.
Services are pending with Kleine Funeral Home.

Ronald Faubion
Ronald R. Faubion, 36, of Grand Island died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Larmore will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Faubion was born on Feb. 22, 1963, in Valentine to Bill and Edith (Kennedy) Faubion. He grew up and was educated in Valentine and then worked for construction companies in the Valentine area.
Mr. Faubion moved to Grand Island in 1981. He worked for Monfort, Food Service of America and in various construction jobs. He had been in ill health since November 1998.
His hobbies included collecting tigers.
Survivors include one son, Leslie Ray Faubion of Grand Junction, Colo.; his mother, Edith Naughton of Grand Island; one brother, Leslie Osterman of Wichita, Kan.; and two sisters, Skeeter Uden of Ashton and Debbie Daugherty of Crookston.
He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Jerry Osterman; and his maternal grandmother, Susie Kennedy.
Ellen Powl
Ellen Powl, 82, of 2221 W. John died Thursday, April 29, 1999, at BryanLGH Medical Center East in Lincoln.
Services are pending at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
'Lalo' Zamarripa
"Lalo" Librado Sanchez Zamarripa, 39, of Grand Island died Monday, April 26, 1999, at St. Francis Memorial Health Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cathedral. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a 3 p.m. rosary, Monday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Zamarripa was born on Feb. 29, 1960, at Col. Alvaro Obregon, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Enrique and Juana (Sanchez) Zamarripa. He grew up and was educated in Mexico.
He married
Monserat Villalba on March 4, 1984.
He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and a band member for the Fuego Music Group.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Elizabeth Zamarripa; one son, Joel Zamarripa; his mother, Juana Zamarripa Sanchez of Mexico; one brother, Jaime Zamarripa of Grand Island; and three sisters, Maria Zamarripa, Alicia Zamarripa and Yolanda Zamarripa, all of Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Hector Zamarripa.
