Kading Jacobson
ALBION -- Kading Le Forest Jacobson, 91, of Albion died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, at the Boone County Health Center in Albion.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion. The Rev. Brian Bergum and intern Annette Minderman will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Lutheran cemetery at rural St. Edward.
Levander Funeral Home in Albion is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jacobson was born on Nov. 10, 1906, on a farm west of Newman Grove to John and Matilda (Nelson) Jacobson. He attended Leader School, Boone County District 20, rural Newman Grove.
He married
Ione Sanderson on May 21, 1938, at the Baptist Church in Albion. They farmed west of Newman Grove for two years. They moved to California in 1940, and Mr. Jacobson worked as a carpentry foreman. They lived in Los Angeles, Inglewood and Culver City, Calif., before returning to Nebraska to farm south of Albion.
He had been a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Albion since 1984. He had served as treasurer and usher at Trinity Lutheran Church in Newman Grove.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Keith of Albion; three sisters, Tulia Billingsly of Long Beach, Calif., Elvira Bergman of Blair and Alda Lund of Chula Vista, Calif.; and one brother, Gale Jacobson of Culver City, Calif.
He was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
Norma Jeppesen
ST. PAUL -- Norma Jeppesen, 92, of St. Paul died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at Park Place Health Care and Rehab Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Rev. Lavern Larkowski will officiate. Burial will be in the Nysted Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Jeppesen was born on Oct. 11, 1905, to Louis and Lydia (Hansen) Petersen. She grew up in the Dannebrog area and attended District 17 School at Nysted.
She married
Knud Jeppesen on March 21, 1924, at Loup City. The couple lived in Dannebrog and then near Nysted, where they farmed. Mr. Jeppesen died on July 20, 1943. Mrs. Jeppesen then worked at Grandview College in Des Moines, Iowa. She retired in 1962 and moved to Parkside Plaza in St. Paul.
She was a past member of the Nysted Evangelical Church.
Survivors include one son, Ken of Grand Island; one daughter, Jean (Mrs. Archie) Cornelius of Grand island; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Herluf Petersen and an infant brother, Norton.
Victor Jones Sr.
CENTRAL CITY -- Victor John Jones Sr., 63, of Central City, formerly of Aurora, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, at his home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Aurora First Christian Church. The Rev. Jay Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Higby Mortuary in Aurora is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jones was born on Jan. 25, 1934, at Columbus to Kenneth and Sophia (Seberger) Jones. His mother was killed in a train accident when he was 3 years old. He grew up and attended country school south of York and attended Hampton High School.
He married
Carol Sims on Aug. 15, 1954, at Aurora. They lived in Aurora. He worked for the Farmers Union Creamery for 11 years and owned Jones Construction for 17 years. He worked at Monfort in Grand Island for 14 1/2 years. He and his wife moved to Twin Lakes near Central City.
He was a member of the Aurora First Christian Church and the Grand Island Eagles Club.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Owen of Grand Island and Victor Jr. of Aurora; two daughters, Melody Austin of Grand Island and Theresa Hart of McCook; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his stepmother, Oddetta Jones of Aurora; one brother, Wayne of Moorpark, Calif.; one sister, Verleen Ellis of York; and two half sisters, Rozella Sackschewsky of Eustis and Judy Fye of Aurora.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Maxine Main
BROKEN BOW -- Maxine F. Main, 76, of Broken Bow died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, at Jennie Melham Hospital in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow. The Rev. Jim Stark will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park cemetery in Chewelah, Wash.
Mrs. Main was born on Sept. 30, 1921, in Custer County to Frank and Pearl (Gier) Jones. She attended school at Valentine.
She married
Everett O. Main on Nov. 6, 1940, at Valentine. They moved to California in 1945. She worked at Lockhead Aircraft.
They moved to Washington state in 1969. Mr. Main died on Jan. 20, 1973. Mrs. Main returned to Broken Bow in 1974 to be near her family.
She had been a member of the Moose Lodge at Pacifica, Calif.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy (Mrs. Lyle) Coleman of Berwyn and Patricia (Mrs. Kenny) Catron of Belle River, Ill.; two sons, Buddy Lee Main of Henderson, Nev., and Frank Main of Dunning; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Babcock of Greeley.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, James and an infant son, Junior; three brothers, Lawrence, Jesse and John; and two sisters, Geraldine and Violet.
Alberta McKillip
MILBURN -- Alberta F. McKillip, 75, of rural Milburn died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, at Jennie Melham Hospital in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Church of Christ in Brewster. The Rev. David Hansen and Bob Woodward will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. MST in the Whitman Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Mrs. McKillip was born on April 23, 1922, at Arthur to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Musil. She attended country schools at Arthur and graduated from Scottsbluff High School.
She married
George McKillip on Oct. 10, 1941, at Ogallala. They lived on a ranch at Tryon and later lived at Burwell. In recent years, they lived on a ranch south of Brewster in the Milburn area.
Mrs. McKillip worked as a ranch hand as well as a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband and two sisters, Marie McKillip of Gering and Ruth Dennis of Portland, Ore.
Myrtle Williamsen
AURORA -- Myrtle M. Williamsen, 90, of Aurora, formerly of Marquette, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora. The Rev. Kelly Smith will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Church cemetery at Kronborg.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
Miss Williamsen was born on July 21, 1907, at Hampton to Peter and Dorothea (Miller) Williamsen. She moved with her family to a farm near Kronborg in 1908 and later to the home place near Marquette. She attended school in Marquette and graduated from Marquette High School in 1925. She taught country school for several years.
She lived on the home place and cared for her parents. They raised Doris Bankson, who was like a sister to Miss Williamsen.
She moved to Hamilton Manor in 1991.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Kronborg.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Cecilia Jorgensen; a half brother, Aller; and a half sister, Cecilia.
