Ellen Sheldon
STROMSBURG -- Ellen P. Sheldon, 97, of Stromsburg died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, at her home.

Elsie Stromer
HASTINGS -- Elsie M. Stromer, 80, of Hastings died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at Haven Home of Kenesaw.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings. The Rev. Kathleen Kasper will officiate. Burial will be in Parkview cemetery at Hastings.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mrs. Stromer was born on June 23, 1917, in Hastings to August and Lizzie (Brinkman) Juedeman. She graduated from Trumbull High School and attended Kearney State College and Hastings College. She taught in rural schools for six years.
She married
Delbert L. Stromer on Aug. 15, 1939, and lived south of Hastings. They later lived north of Hastings for 27 years and in Hastings for more than 20 years.
She was a homemaker and a past member of the State Legislative Wives/Mothers Auxiliary, assistant 4-H leader and Sunday school teacher at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Lutheran Church Women, UCT Auxiliary and Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Jerry Stromer of Arlington, Va.; one daughter, Judy Lautenschlager of Doniphan; four grandchildren; and one brother, Clarence Juedeman of Hastings.
Marion Trojan
COMSTOCK -- Marion Trojan, 73, of Comstock died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at Goli Medical Center in Sargent.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent. The Rev. Don Schauda will officiate. Burial will be in Douglass Grove cemetery at Comstock.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Comstock Fire and Rescue Unit.
'Bill' Evers
FORTSOME, Ga. -- William "Bill" L. Evers, 65, of Fortsome, Ga., died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at Fortsome.
Services will be on Wednesday at Columbus, Ga.
Mr. Evers was born on Aug. 23, 1932, at Grand Island to Bill and Maxine Evers.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie; two sons, Bill Jr. and Ralph Evers, two stepchildren, Charlie and Jacqueline, all of Georgia; one sister, Dorothy Wiese of Grand Island; and one brother, Bob Evers of Arizona.
Clara Scheuneman
Clara F. Scheuneman, 101, of Grand Island died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at Park Place Health Care and Rehab Center.
Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery at Franklin.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.

Miss Scheuneman was born on Dec. 27, 1896, in Franklin County to John and Julia (Delhaute) Scheuneman. She grew up and was educated in the Franklin County area and at Minden Public Schools. She moved to Grand Island in 1937 and began working for J.M. McDonald's as a sales clerk and buyer. She retired in 1965 after 28 years of service.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a sister, Matilda Albertson of Hayward, Wis.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Ruth Barrick
BROKEN BOW -- Ruth C. Barrick, 88, of Broken Bow died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at the Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Broken Bow. The Rev. Robert Strawn will officiate. Burial will be in the Litchfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the donor's choice.
Mrs. Barrick was born on Aug. 18, 1910, at Litchfield to Louis and Emma (Zeller) Kohls. She attended Clear Creek School and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1929. She taught school in the Litchfield area and at Brewster.
She married
Clarence D. Barrick on Feb. 28, 1934, at Hazard. They farmed near Litchfield and moved to a farm east of Anselmo in 1940. She moved to Broken Bow in 1992.
Survivors include two daughters, Althea Barrick of Broken Bow and Louise Capps of Cape Coral, Fla.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eunice (Mrs. Donald) Evans of Grand Island; and a brother, Paul Kohls of Fort Collins, Colo.
Her husband died in 1976. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Helen McFadden; and two brothers, Lyle and Elmer Kohls.
H. Perl Vohland
GIBBON -- H. Perl Vohland, 94, of Gibbon died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Godberson Mortuary in Gibbon. The Rev. Barbara Spangler will officiate. Burial will be in the Gibbon Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be before the services Wednesday at the mortuary.
Mr. Vohland was born on July 18, 1904, on a farm south of Gibbon to Jacob and Bessie (Donalson) Vohland. He grew up in the Gibbon area, graduating from Gibbon High School in 1925. He was active in high school basketball and football and was selected as an All-State end in football.
He farmed and did commercial hay bailing and corn shelling for many years and was also a janitor for the Gibbon Public School for 14 years.
Mr. Vohland was a Gibbon volunteer firefighter for more than 31 years. He was also a member of Faith United Church of Gibbon.
Survivors include a half sister, Bonnie Shanahan of Omaha.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gage and Lee Vohland.
'Peggy' Zocholl
ST. PAUL -- Margaret H. "Peggy" Zocholl, 77, of St. Paul died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at St. Paul. The Rev. Michael McDermott will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery at St. Paul with graveside honors by American Legion Auxiliary Unit 119 of St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. vigil service, Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the donor's choice.

Mrs. Zocholl was born on June 19, 1921, at Broken Bow to Merle M. and Grace (Duke) Runyan. She attended Broken Bow Public School and graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1939. She graduated from the St. Francis School of Nursing in Grand Island in 1945. She worked as a nurse in California and Washington, D.C., for the next five years.
She married
Eugene J. Zocholl on Nov. 22, 1950, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Grand Island. The couple lived at St. Paul throughout their marriage. She worked at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island for a number of years. Mr. Zocholl died on Feb. 17, 1996.
Mrs. Zocholl enjoyed golf and playing bridge.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and its altar society. She was a charter member of Catholic Daughters Sacred Heart Court 2015 of St. Paul. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 119 and had served as its president. She was a former member of the St. Paul Country Club and a member of the Howard County Historical Society.
Survivors include one brother, Howard Runyan of Broken Bow.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Naomi Rios; and one brother, Byron Runyan.
