Helen Yetter
SAN ANTONIO -- Helen M. Yetter, 88, of San Antonio, formerly of Fullerton, died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at Morningside Manor in San Antonio.
Services are pending with Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton.
Fred Boltz
Fred E. Boltz, 67, of Grand Island, formerly of Longmont, Colo., died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Grand Island. The Rev. Michael W. Cole will officiate.
Other services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Longmont, with the Rev. Thomas Hovestal officiating.
Burial will be in the Foothills Garden of Memorial cemetery in Longmont.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home in Grand Island and 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ahlberg Funeral Home in Longmont.
Mr. Boltz was born Aug. 18, 1931, to Art and Gladys (Gardner) Boltz in Hall County. He grew up in Grand Island, Alda and Wood River, graduating from Wood River High School in 1950.
He entered the U.S. Army Tank Corps in March 1951 and was discharged in March 1953.
He married
Beverly McCartney on April 24, 1954, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The couple lived in Denver, San Jose, Calif., and Longmont.
He retired from Eastman Kodak in 1989 and they moved to Grand Island in 1995.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Longmont, First Baptist Church in Grand Island, Platt-Duetsche Society, Eagles, United Vets Club, Liederkranz, Liederkranz German Singers and National Rifle Association.
He also served on the Liederkranz board.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steve of Pahrump, Nev., and Jeff of Longmont; two daughters, Karen Cervantes of Greeley, Colo., and Debbie Rhoads of Longmont; seven grandchildren; five adopted grandchildren; five step grandchildren; one great-grandson; six step great-grandchildren; one brother, Norman of Palm Bay, Fla.; and two sisters, Janet Eckoldt of North Green, Colo., and Barbara Settle of Denver.
He was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter.
'Vi' Christensen
Viola "Vi" E. Christensen, 78, of Grand Island died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at Lakeview Nursing Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Rahwahdt officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
Mrs. Christensen was born on Feb. 18, 1920, at Seward to Robert and Emily (Hohn) Vogt. She grew up in Seward and Milford and graduated from Milford High School in 1937.
After graduation, she moved to Lincoln and worked for Gold's Department Store.
She married
Earl L. Christensen on Aug. 23, 1942, at Lincoln. They lived at various U.S. Army Air Corps cases until her husband's discharge from the military.
They moved to Grand Island in 1948 and opened Christensen Concrete Products. They sold the business in 1965 and opened Christensen Wholesale and Supply. They later started Christensen Inc., where she was a bookkeeper, and her husband was self-employed.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since 1954, Order of Eastern Star, 4-H, American Association of Retired People, Liederkranz, Platt-Duetsche, Saddle Club, Stuhr Museum and Fonner Park.
She enjoyed sewing, reading and spending summers at Sherman County Reservoir.
Survivors include one son, Roger Christensen of Grand Island; four daughters, Kathy (Mrs. Rod) Hansen of Hastings, Tina (Mrs. Roger) Miller of Omaha, Kaya (Mrs. Andres) Huertas of Woodland Hills, Calif., and Kim McGill of Los Alamos, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mildred Hentzen and Lillian Eberspacher, both of Seward.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and a sister.

Naomi M. Krug, 80, of Grand Island died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at her home.

Dorothy I. Majer, 85, of Grand Island, formerly of Ravenna, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998, at Tiffany Square Care Center in Grand Island.

PALMER -- Margaret Rubesh, 67, of Palmer died Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Elizabeth Lauby
LEXINGTON -- Elizabeth L. Lauby, 71, of Lexington died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lexington with the Rev. Don Buhrman officiating.
Burial will be in St. Ann's Catholic cemetery at Lexington.
A wake will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Ann's Catholic Church.
Reynolds-Love Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lauby was born on Aug. 17, 1927, at Grand Island to Vernon and Minerva (Stonebarger) ArbogaSt. She grew up in the Grand Island area and was a graduate of St. Mary's High School.
She married
Leo O'Brien on June 25, 1945, in Grand Island. They lived in Lexington and the Johnson Lake area all their lives. He died in 1986.
She married
Steve Lauby on Jan. 29, 1996, at Lexington.
She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, St. Ann's Altar Society, Penny Pinchers Extension Club and Rainbow Garden Club and participated in activities at the Grand Generation Center.
Survivors include her husband of Lexington; two sons, Michael O'Brien of St. Calhoun and Daniel O'Brien of Plattsmouth; two daughters, Mary (Mrs. Don) Stearley of Kearney and Jean (Mrs. Arlin) Edeal of Lexington; three stepdaughters, Jane O'Brien of Columbia, Mo., Mary Hielman of Bay City, Mich., and Ann Swindt of Ft.
Collins, Colo.; seven stepsons, Terry, Brian, Jamie and Ed Lauby, all of Lexington, Jason Lauby of Prescott, Ariz., Tony Lauby of Ft.
Collins, Colo., and Andy Lauby of Tyler, Texas; one brother, Vernon Arbogast of Spokane, Wash.; four sisters, Jean (Mrs. Paul) Fuss of Colorado Springs, Colo., Izetta (Mrs. Merrill) Seeley of Loveland, Colo., Barbara Benedict of San Diego, Calif., and Mary Elaine Garza of Torrance, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leo; and one son, Pat O'Brien.
Wanda Jacobsen
AURORA -- Wanda Jacobsen, 101, of Aurora and formerly of Marquette died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at Hamilton Manor in Aurora.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kronborg with the Revs. Anna White-Terman and Charles Pollard officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Grand Island.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the donor's choice.
Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Jacobsen was born on Feb. 28, 1897, in Oxford to Walter and Kate (Bonser) Drake. She grew up in Oxford, graduated from Oxford High School and received a degree from Kearney State College in 1929. She did postgraduate work at Kearney State College and Colorado State University in Greeley.
She married
Ole Jacobsen on June 6, 1930, at Holdrege.
The couple lived in Boelus until 1949, when they moved to Marquette. She taught for 53 years in Nebraska and South Dakota high schools, including Boelus and Marquette and also Armour and Winner, S.D. When her husband died in 1959, she moved back to Marquette. She later lived in Merrick Manor in Central City and at Hamilton Manor in Aurora.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Kronborg and the Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include a nephew, Lee Drake of Hebron; four nieces, Betty Williams of Virginia Beach, Va., Marjorie Moser of Houston Loisjean (Mrs. Gordon) Tush of Lincoln and Mary Louise (Mrs. Willis) Hastings of Ogallala
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Drake, Louise McClintock and Dorcas Mancill; two brothers, Walter and Ben Drake; and an infant brother and sister.
