Jerrylynn Duncan
OGALLALA -- Jerrylynn Duncan, 55, of Ogallala, formerly of Shelton, died Saturday, April 3, 1999, at her home.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Ogallala. The Rev. Mary Loup Reynolds will officiate. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Minden Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Draucker Funeral Home or at the church.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
Mrs. Duncan was born on May 6, 1943, in Scottsbluff to Lynn and Geraldine (Thurston) Murer. Her early education was in Grant County, and she graduated from Hyannis High School in 1961. She attended business college in Denver until 1963 and then moved to Axtell.
She was a nurse's aide at Kearney County Hospital in Minden.
She married
Douglas Duncan on March 28, 1964, in Hyannis. The couple lived in Shelton, where they owned the Shelton Clipper and Gibbon Reporter until 1989.
She moved to Papillion and worked as a paraprofessional at Ralston High School until 1994. She moved to Kearney and worked in the Gibbon public schools. She moved to Ogallala in 1997 and was a paraprofessional at Ogallala Middle School.
She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Ogallala and a past member of the Nebraska Press Association.
Survivors include two daughters, Tonya Duncan of Lincoln and Tara Duncan of Omaha; one son, Tory of Omaha; her parents, Dennis and Geraldine Bryant of Paxton; and one sister, Jeroin (Mrs. Jim) Bestol of Ogallala.
Her husband died in 1994. She also was preceded in death by her father.
Steven Petersen
THEDFORD -- Steven Petersen, 46, of Thedford died Saturday, April 3, 1999, at a Lincoln hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Thedford High School east gymnasium with Pastors Rick Johnson and Terry Skov officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest cemetery at Thedford.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Thedford.
Memorials are suggested to the Steven Petersen Scholarship Fund.
Russell Nietfeld
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Graveside services for Russell Nietfeld, 42, of Springfield, Mo., formerly of Grand Island, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Mr. Nietfeld died March 3, 1999, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
A gathering will be after the service at the Commercial Federal Bank building.
He was the son of Robert and Margaret Nietfeld of Springfield, Mo.
Clarence Dennhardt
Clarence Dennhardt, 93, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Center in Wood River.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. Jocelyn Tupper will officiate.
Mr. Dennhardt was cremated.
Memorials are suggested to the Central Nebraska Humane Society.
Mr. Dennhardt was born on Aug. 1, 1904, at Jefferson, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Dennhardt. He grew up and was educated in Winston, Minn., and later moved back to Jefferson.
He married
Bertha Dennhardt in the 1920s. She died in 1936. He farmed on the family farm and later began working as a carpenter.
He married
Letha Stogsdill in 1938 at Jefferson. The couple lived in the Jefferson area. He later began working for the government in Des Moines, Iowa, and helped build the power plant in Mead.
They moved in 1944 to Grand Island, where he worked for Geer Melkus Construction for 14 years. He then worked for Geer Trailer Factory and then John Claussen and Sons for 16 years. He retired in 1980. Mrs. Dennhardt died in 1964.
Mr. Dennhardt was a member of the Carpenters Union of Grand Island.
He liked to fish, travel, garden and care for his pets.
Survivors include four sons, Don Dennhardt, Loren Dennhardt and Lee Dennhardt, all of Grand Island, and Gary Dennhardt, address unknown; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Besides his wives, he was preceded in death by one son, Francis; four sisters and one brother.
Mike Garza
Mike J. Garza, 19, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Frances Figeroa will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.

Charles Harden
TAYLOR -- Lyle Charles Harden, 69, of Taylor died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rhoad Funeral Chapel in Sargent. The Rev. Roger Gillming will officiate. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Parkinson's research or the Taylor Methodist Church.
Mr. Harden was born on Feb. 6, 1928, on a ranch near Almeria to William T. and Elsie Ella (Abbott) Harden. He attended rural Loup County schools and graduated from Taylor High School in May 1946.
He entered the U.S. Army and served 18 months in the 182nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. After his discharge, he returned home and worked with his parents on the family ranch.
He married
Jean Garner on June 1, 1952. They lived on the ranch with his parents until his health failed him.
He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Taylor and the Loup County Historical Society. He had been a 40-year member of the Loup County Rural Fire District and helped organize the district.
He enjoyed trapshooting, hunting, tractor pulls and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cynthia (Mrs. John) Haddix of Denver and Jennifer Harden of Kearney; a son, Randall Harden of Taylor; and two sisters, Thelma Carrington of San Diego and Doris Barthelmess of Simi Valley, Calif.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild and one sister, Mary.
'V.C.' Howard
BROKEN BOW -- Victor "V.C." Howard, 66, of Broken Bow died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, as the result of a traffic accident east of Berwyn on Highway 2.
Services are pending at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
Leroy Nelson
CENTRAL CITY -- Leroy Harry Nelson, 98, of Central City, formerly of Hordville, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Solt Funeral Home in Central City. The Rev. Darryl Keeney officiated. Burial will be in the Lindale cemetery near Hordville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the cemetery or to the family's choice.
Mr. Nelson was born on the home farm at Stark to J.W. and Mathilda K. (Rydson) Nelson. He attended District 65 School in Hamilton County. He farmed the home place and lived there for 89 years.
He married
Ella Husmann on Oct. 10, 1970. They moved into Hordville in the fall of 1988. They moved to Community Care of America in Central City in August 1992. Mrs. Nelson died in 1996.
Mr. Nelson was a member of Modern Woodmen of America for 75 years, served as the Santa Claus in Hordville for 50 years, was a member of Masonic Lodge 311 in Polk for more than 60 years and was affiliated with the Baptist Church in Hordville.
Survivors include one nephew, Harry Nelson of Grand Island; and one niece, Margaret Lampshire of Stanton, Calif.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
