Thelma B. Peterson
STROMSBURG -- Thelma B. Peterson, 86, of Stromsburg died Saturday, Oct. 3 at the York General Hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Stromsburg Baptist Church. Pastor Dwayne Tweeten will officiate. Burial will be at the Stromsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Palmer Funeral Home in Stromsburg.

Julia Spotanski
ELKHORN -- Julia F. Spotanski, 86, of Elkhorn Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Grand Island, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, at the manor.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Grand Island. The Rev. Tom Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, all at the cathedral.
Memorials are suggested to the Children's Hospital in Omaha or the Elkhorn Manor Nursing Home Craft Center.
Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Spotanski was born June 9, 1912, to Adolph and Josephine (Klos) Chaloud at Farwell. She attended country school near Ashton.
She married
Stephen T. Spotanski in 1928 at Ashton. They farmed in Sherman County near Ashton then later in Hall County near Cairo. She did house cleaning for more than 35 years. When they retired, they moved to Grand Island.
She was a member of St. Mary's parish and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis (Mrs. Mark) Schuele of Lutz, Fla., Betty (Mrs. John) Hegarty of Fremont and Candy (Mrs. Bob) Spady of North Platte; two sons, Larry Spotanski of Omaha and Steve Spotanski of Pinehurst, Idaho; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one brother, Raymond Turek of Centerpoint, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen in 1983; one granddaughter; one sister, Gertrude Webb and one brother, Gene Turek.
Dolores Allen
LINCOLN -- Dolores M. Allen, 71, of Lincoln, formerly of Grand Island, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998, at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Jose' Chavez will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday with a Catholic Daughters Rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish rosary at 7 p.m. all at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Allen was born Oct. 29, 1926, in Broken Bow to D. Dale and Alyce Bridgett (Sweeney) Skinner. She attended school in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1945. She then attended the University of Nebraska and graduated in 1949.
She married
John Allen on Aug. 13, 1949, in Lincoln. She taught school in Lincoln for two years, in Franklin for two years, in Orleans for two years and taught for more than 27 years in the Grand Island Public School system. She taught at Howard, Dodge, Knickrehm, Stolley Park, Gates and Starr schools.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, the Catholic Daughters of America, the Nebraska State Education Association, the University of Nebraska Alumni Association and the Touchdown Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Julia Allen of Omaha, Elizabeth Allen and Laura Allen, both of Lincoln; one son, Michael of Lincoln; one granddaughter; and one sister, Carole Yeager of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by her husband and an infant son, Patrick.
Perl Vohland
GIBBON -- H. Perl Vohland, 94, of Gibbon died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services are pending with Godberson Mortuary of Gibbon/Shelton.
Hazel Bourland
LITCHFIELD -- Hazel M. Bourland, 72, of Litchfield died Friday, July 17, 1998, at her home.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Litchfield United Methodist Church with the Rev. Heidi Revelo officiating. Burial will be in Litchfield Cemetery.
Visitation is prior to service time Tuesday at the church.
Rasmussen Mortuary in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
Mrs. Bourland was born on Aug. 27, 1925, in Kearney to Oscar and Bessie Mae (Pucket) Smith. She was educated in Kearney.
She married
Henry Bourland on Aug. 9, 1943, in Lexington. They lived in Cozad and Kearney before moving to Litchfield in 1956. She worked with him in his propane business.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, John Bourland and Richard Bourland, both of Litchfield; two daughters, Barbara Kement of Grand Island and Beverly Bourland of Lexington; two sisters, Grace Wiley of Kearney and Ina Mae Best of Litchfield; 14 grandchildren and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Ralphy Kay Smith, and one sister, Esta Pearl Mason.
Alphonse Sock
SILVER CREEK -- Alphonse A. Sock, 58, of Silver Creek died Friday, July 17, 1998, at Annie Jeffrey Memorial Hospital in Osceola.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Lawrence Church in Silver Creek with the Rev. David Korth officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Catholic cemetery in Silver Creek.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. Monday at the church with a 7:30 p.m. vigil and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
McKown Funeral Home of Silver Creek is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to St. Lawrence cemetery Endowment.
Mr. Sock was born on May 26, 1940, at Silver Creek to Adam and Mary (Koziol) Sock. He lived in Silver Creek his entire life. He enjoyed gardening and music.
Survivors include three sisters, Rosemary (Mrs. John) O'Hearn of Kansas City, Mo., Agnes (Mrs. Tony) Rosenthal of Columbus and Esther (Mrs. Don) Dworak of Omaha; and two brothers, Frank Sock and Louis Sock, both of Silver Creek.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mark Adams
Mark D. Adams, 43, of Grand Island died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, of injuries received in an automobile accident.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kleine Funeral Home. The Rev. David Vaughn will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City cemetery with military rites by the veterans service officer.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Adams was born on Feb. 26, 1956, at Omaha to Dorsey and Frances (Wardyn) Adams. He grew up and was educated in Grand Island. He worked for Skagway during high school.
He joined the U.S. navy on Sept. 27, 1973, and served on the USS Kiska, stationed at Concord, Calif.
He married
Bernice Lubash on Oct. 28, 1978, at Grand Island. After his discharge, he returned to Grand Island, where he worked for the city of Grand Island as a power plant operator from 1979 to 1987. He also owned and operated Adams Precision Lock and Key for several years.
Mr. Adams liked to travel and enjoyed playing his guitar. He shared his music and skills as a volunteer at the Grand Island Veterans Home.
Survivors include one son, Matthew of Grand Island; one daughter, Tara of Grand Island; his father, of Grand Island; and one brother, Larry Adams of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
