Skyler Kosmicki
SAFFORD, Ariz. -- Skyler Kosmicki, 12, of Safford, Ariz., formerly of Grand Island, died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at his home.
Services will be on Tuesday in Safford.
Skyler was born on Sept. 12, 1986, in Grand Island to Ken and Patricia (Guerrero) Kosmicki. He attended Barr Junior High School for one year.
He loved basketball and collected sports cards. He also enjoyed reading.
Survivors include his father, Ken Kosmicki of Utah; his mother, Patricia Wren of Safford, Ariz.; two brothers, Bryson and Jack, both of Safford; grandparents, Marion and Charlotte Guerrero of Grand Island; and a grandmother, Mary Kosmicki of Grand Island.
Rosemarie Buck
Rosemarie Buck of Grand Island died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at her home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home with the Rev. C. Roger Nelson officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Abie National cemetery in Abie.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Christmas Cheer.
Mrs. Buck was born at Abie to Edward and Emma (Vavrina) Mashek. She graduated from Brownell-Hall private school in Omaha. She then attended Omaha University.
She married
C.J. Buck. The couple lived in Omaha; Sioux City, Iowa; and Schuyler before they moved to Grand Island in 1962. Mr. Buck died on April 1, 1968.
Mrs. Buck worked at Kmart for eight years and then at Wendy's for eight years.
Survivors include two sons, Scott Buck of Grand Island and Steven E. Buck of Findlay, Ohio; a daughter, Sue Ann Geis of Lincoln; and four grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Johanson.
Kenny Bader
ALBION -- Kenneth "Kenny" V. Bader Sr., 69, of Albion died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at the Boone County Health Center in Albion.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Church of Christ in Albion. The Rev. Mary Avidano will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Levander Funeral Home in Albion is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bader was born on Dec. 15, 1928, at Albion to Albert Ray Sr. and Cora Mae (Dawkins) Bader. He attended Albion Public Schools.
He married
Dolores M. Cox in January 1949.
He married
Winnifred C. Loughman on May 16, 1966, at the courthouse in Yankton, S.D. They lived in Albion, and he worked for the city from 1978 to 1986.
Mr. Bader was a member of the United Church of Christ of Albion. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and gardening. In his spare time, he liked to repair things.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Ricky and Albert, both of Albion, Patrick of Spalding and Kenneth Jr., Daniel and David, all of Omaha; four daughters, Cora of Albion, Marlene (Mrs. Ray) Barnes and Starlene (Mrs. Stanley) Jamison, both of Columbus, and Deloris (Mrs. Ken) Pickenpaugh of Omaha; 27 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Zabka of Tennet, Iowa, and Dorthy Rieck of Primrose; one brother, Jonny Bader of Albion; and many half brothers and half sisters and stepbrothers and stepsisters.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery L. Bader; two grandchildren; a brother; and a stepbrother.
Vera Carmin
ST. EDWARD -- Vera I. Carmin, 81, of St. Edward died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at the Boone County Health Center in Albion.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist-Presbyterian Church in St. Edward. The Rev. Wendell Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in St. Edward.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward.
Mrs. Carmin was born on Oct. 11, 1917, at St. Edward to Martin and Jensine (Nielsen) Olesen. She attended elementary school in St. Edward and graduated from St. Edward High School in 1934.
She married
Lem Carmin in July 1942 at Douglas, Wyo. The couple lived in Douglas, then moved to San Antonio. They later moved to St. Edward. She worked as a waitress at various restaurants in the towns where they lived.
Mr. Carmin died in 1972.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Carmin was preceded in death by two brothers and seven sisters.
Deborah Jensen
AURORA -- Deborah Jensen, 82, of Aurora, formerly of Hordville, died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, in the St. Francis Medical Center Skilled Care Unit in Grand Island.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kronborg. The Revs. Anna Terman-White and Bill Knievel will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Church cemetery at Kronborg.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Mrs. Jensen was born on Nov. 27, 1916, at Hordville to Otto and Ingborg (Johnson) Chader. She was educated at District 94 School near Hordville.
She married
Arnold Jensen on March, 25, 1951, at Marquette. They farmed near Hordville throughout their marriage. She entered Hamilton Manor in Aurora in December 1997.
She was a member of Marquette United Methodist Church and attended the Mamre Evangelical Free Church near Marquette.
Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Opal (Mrs. Roger) Christensen of Lincoln, Colene Andersen of Kearney, Pauline (Mrs. Gordon) Quiring of Hampton and Adell (Mrs. Rick) Woodson of Bena, Va.; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two brothers, Evvard Chader of Central City and Carl Chader of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Vivian Chader; and a brother, Delane Chader.
Rose Klemm
North Platte -- Rose Klemm, 64, of North Platte died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, at her home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in North Platte. The Rev. Art Faesser will officiate. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to McDaid Project 2000.
Mrs. Klemm was born on Nov. 16, 1934, in Carrolville, Wis. She grew up in south Milwaukee, attended St. Mary's Academy and graduated from high school in 1952. She taught at Minnetonka, Minn., and was a reading specialist. She also taught at Whitewater State Teachers College in Wisconsin and McCook Junior College.
She married
Robert Klemm on Aug. 12, 1961. The couple lived in Minnesota and McCook before moving to North Platte in 1972. They operated Arrowhead Distributing Co.
Her activities included the food pantry; Salvation Army; Adams Middle School Parents Advisory Board; North Platte High School Booster Club; Great Plains Regional Medical Center board, foundation and auxiliary; University of Nebraska Medical Center board; and Public Radio Nebraska Foundation board.
She started the Coat Closet project in North Platte, taught religious classes at Holy Spirit Church, received the North Platte Education Association Friend of Education Award in 1987, was a former North Platte Chamber of Commerce chairwoman and was instrumental in bringing the Miss Nebraska Scholarship Pageant to North Platte.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Barrett of North Platte; two daughters, Sarah (Mrs. Dan) Spencer and Betsy (Mrs. Steve) Burns, both of Denver; her mother, Josie Plevak of North Platte; a sister, Delores Farley of Springfield, Ill.; and a brother, Joseph Plevak of Aurora, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Vivian Ford
LINCOLN -- Vivian J. Ford, 75, of Lincoln, formerly of Grand Island, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at BryanLGH Medical Center East.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Maurice Pierce will officiate, and American Legion Post 3 of Lincoln will provide a flag presentation. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. until services Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ford was born on Oct. 11, 1923, in Owen, Wis., to Roy and Irene (Hurley) Anderson. She lived in Grand Island from 1964 to 1970.
She was a member of Northwest Church of Christ and TOPS/KOPS.
Survivors include her husband, Lemuel C. Ford of Lincoln; two sons, Tom Ford of Lincoln and Dan Ford of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three daughters, Connie (Mrs. Rod) Swanson of Foster City, Calif., Evelyn (Mrs. Mark) Johnson of Lincoln and Helen (Mrs. Murray) Carstens of Grand Island; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel (Mrs. Jerry) Ruggles of Columbus, Miss., and Doris (Mrs. Aurel) Baxter of Curtis, Wis.; and six brothers, Roy Anderson of Tennessee, Robert Anderson of Sturgis, S.D., Laurie Anderson of Woodbury, Minn., Leonard Anderson of Minneapolis, Delmer Anderson and Darrel Anderson, both of Oregon.
She was preceded in death by a grandson and two brothers.
