After the death of her father, she and her mother moved to Hinsdale, Ill., to live with her sister and her husband, Jim Cuff.

During their married life, they lived in Elwood City, Pa., Warren, Ohio, Hinsdale and Sun City West. Helen moved to The Meadows in Norfolk in June 2003, six years after the death of her husband.
Knitting Christmas stockings for all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren and weaving baby blankets for all the new babies in the family was her way of caring for those she loved, even after they were out of her nest. She expanded the family circle through the years to include all she met. She managed to stay in touch with many. She was the nurturer, the family glue and rememberer of every special day.
Wife of Art, mom of Bev and Rich, homemaker, knitter, weaver and lifelong learner, Helen had the gift of hospitality. She was a quiet woman with a deep abiding faith in her Lord, Jesus Christ.
Helen was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mom and friend. She loved the Lord and knew that He loved her and would provide all her needs. She rested in the promises of the 23rd Psalm, and her favorite hymn was “Children of the Heavenly Father.”
In October 2005, during a time of illness, Helen told her family, “I do not need to live another day - I have had a wonderful life.” We do not choose the time or day of our death, but God chose Jan. 19, early in the morning, when Helen was in her home at The Meadows. Peace to her memory.
