Don Woitaszewski
RENO, Nev. -- Donald F. Woitaszewski, 48, of Reno, Nev., died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Woitaszewski was cremated.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Grand Island. The Rev. Tom Ryan will officiate.
A private burial with the immediate family will be at Westlawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the burial.
A rosary and wake service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral. Memorials are suggested to the family.

Mr. Woitaszewski was born July 12, 1948, to Ben and Delphine (Krolikowski) Woitaszewski in Grand Island. He lived with his family near Cairo and Dannebrog before moving with his family to Grand Island in 1957. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1967.
He attended Kearney State College and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1973 with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture. He worked for the U.S. Bureau of Land Management from 1974 to 1987 in Worland, Cody and Rawlings, Wyo. Later he worked for various ranchers in Wyoming and California.
He married
Nola Tanner in 1978. In 1994, he moved to Ogden, Utah. He received a master gardener certificate and did groundskeeping in the area. He moved to Reno in 1996 and was head gardener at the Sands Regency.
He was an avid horseman, hunter, fisherman and gardener.
Survivors include his mother; four brothers, his twin brother, Ron of Ogden, Lavern of Wood River, Ira of Ogden and Jim of Casper, Wyo.; and two sisters, Leona Gladfelter of Wichita, Kan., and Mary Harb of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Maxine Chelewski
LOUP CITY -- Maxine Chelewski, 84, died Saturday, Nov. 28 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Josaphat's Catholic Church with Father Reginald A. Urban officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City, and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church. There will be a wake at 7:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in Loup City.

Robert McGuire
LEXINGTON -- Robert J. McGuire, 71, of Lexington, died Friday, Nov. 27 at the Tri-County Hospital in Lexington
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ann's Parish Center in Lexington with Rev. Ray Kosmicki officiating. A wake service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. Burial will be in the Greenwood cemetery in Lexington.

Harold Schomaker
OSCEOLA -- Harold M. Schomaker, 69, of Osceola died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at Osceola.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Stromsburg United Methodist Church in Stromsburg. The Rev. Jeff Thurman will officiate. Burial will be in the Osceola cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post No. 91.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Kepner-Roberts Funeral Home in Osceola.
Mr. Schomaker was born on Sept. 23, 1929, to Edward and Sadie (Doty) Schomaker at Murray. He was a farmer.
He married
Betty J. Musil on Sept. 23, 1961, at Plattsmouth.
He was a member of the Plattsmouth VFW and a Korean War Vet.
Survivors include one stepson, Dennis Covert of Columbus; five daughters, Jackie (Mrs. Jim) Gansemer of Plattsmouth, Connie Seydlitz of Stromsburg, Patti (Mrs. Roger) Ballinger of Omaha, Terri (Mrs. Scott) Larson of Stromsburg and Brenda (Mrs. Craig) Lindquist of Stromsburg; one brother, Lester Schomaker of Lincoln and one sister, Eloise Schomaker of Arkansas; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 6, 1996; five brothers and four sisters.
Tina Hanson
MESA, Ariz. -- Tina Hanson, 33, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Grand Island, died Friday, Nov. 20, 1998.
Services were Nov. 24 at the Central Christian Church in Mesa. The Rev. Jack Begley officiated. Burial was at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Mesa.

Mrs. Hanson was born May 25, 1965, in Lincoln. She married
Brad Hanson in Grand Island.
Survivors include a daughter, Sierra, and three sons, Travis, Philip and Nathan, all of Mesa; her parents, Barbara and Charlie Myers of Mesa, and George Salleng; four brothers, Leslie, Dudley, Dan, and Tim Myers; and a grandmother, Evelyn Salleng of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brad.
John Vampola
SCOTIA -- John J. Vampola, 69, of Scotia died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at the St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Rev. Jim Warner will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord Catholic cemetery with military rites by the Ord VFW and American Legion.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Ord Memorial Chapel with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.

Mr. Vampola was born on Jan. 5, 1929, to John and Anna (Stock) Vampola at Omaha. He was raised at Omaha and attended school there. He served in the U.S. Navy and Army.
While living in Omaha, he operated a body shop and a gas station and also worked for the Omaha Fire Department. He then was a truck driver, stationed out of Denver, Scottsbluff and Ord. He also owned and operated a tavern in Ord. For the last four years, he lived in the Davis Creek area of Howard County.
He was a pilot and enjoyed flying, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille of Scotia; one son, John J. Vampola of Plattsmouth; three daughters, Marcia A. Thie of Iowa, Linda M. Klimiuk of Omaha and Patricia Stethem of Ord; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six brothers and two sisters.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
'Sally' Petersen
Marcella "Sally" A. Petersen, 75, of Grand Island died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, at Lakeview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church's Gollaher Chapel in Grand Island. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the church or American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Petersen was born Aug. 15, 1922, to Soren and Bertha (Brandt) Olsen near Wolbach. She moved to Grand Island with her parents at age 3. She grew up there and attended school, graduating from Grand Island Senior High School in 1941.
After graduation, she worked for Berney's Supermarket. She started working at the Grand Island Army Air Base as grocery store manager in 1944. From 1947 to 1960, she worked for Cook Paint and Varnish Co. as bookkeeper.
She married
Verner "Pete" C. Petersen on Nov. 26, 1960, in Grand Island. The couple lived in Grand Island, where she worked part-time at Cook Paint and Varnish Co. until 1971. She also served as records secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church from 1961 to 1963. She later worked at Fonner Park for several years.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing and needlepoint.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and an infant brother.
