Alice Dunlap
LOUP CITY -- Alice Dunlap, 90, of Loup City, formerly of Ord, died Friday, May 22, 1998, at the Rose Lane Home in Loup City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. The Revs. Jim Warner and Stanley Gorak will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m., with a rosary at 7:30 p.m., Monday at Ord Memorial Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the Rose Lane Home Chapel Fund or to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
'Harold' Hameloth
ST. PAUL -- John "Harold" Hameloth, 70, of St. Paul died Wednesday, May 20, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Baptist Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Donald Lovell will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery at St. Paul with military honors at the gravesite.
Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the church, Howard County Hospital or St. Paul Library Foundation.
Mr. Hameloth was born on Aug. 18, 1927, at Grand Island to John and Emma (Harold) Hameloth. He was educated in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy from June 1945 to July 1946. He returned to Grand Island and started working as a lineman for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co.
He married
Jean Winters on Sept. 7, 1947, at Grand Island. In 1952, the couple moved to St. Paul, where he was a telephone installer for Northwestern Bell. He became an equipment man for the company in 1956 and was promoted to manager of the St. Paul office in 1970. He was transferred to Grand Island in 1977, and the couple moved there. He was supervisor for the Northwestern Bell central office until retiring in 1986. The couple returned to St. Paul in 1988.
He was a member, deacon and trustee of Grace Baptist Church of St. Paul. He was a member of Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 of St. Paul and had been a Scout Master for more than 10 years. He served on the St. Paul school board for 10 years and was the first president of the St. Paul PTA. He served on the St. Paul Volunteer Fire Department for seven years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He served on the St. Paul City Council and was serving on the planning commission in St. Paul.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Wayne of Fallon, Nev., Steven of Grand Island and Gary of Fullerton; one daughter Debbie (Mrs. Clare) Kurz of Palmer; eight grandchildren; one sister, Jean (Mrs. Dick) Odbert of North Platte; and one brother, Gordon of York, Pa.
Betty Manchester
LEMOYNE -- Betty Ann Manchester, 64, of Lemoyne died Thursday, May 21, 1998, at the Ogallala Community Hospital.
Private family services are scheduled prior to cremation.
A memorial has been established. Gubser Funeral Home of Ogallala is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Manchester was born on Oct. 28, 1933, in Ord to Frank and Francis (Lancova) Polok. She grew up and attended school in Ord.
She married
Richard Manchester on Oct. 27, 1950, in St. Paul. The couple lived in North Platte and Council Bluffs before moving to Denver. She worked for Addressograph-Multigraph Co. in Denver for more than 25 years. The couple moved to Grand Island in 1979, and she worked at the Five Points Stop and Go. They later moved to Central City before moving to Lemoyne three years ago.
She and her husband were active in the 4-Wheel Drive Club and enjoyed camping while living in Denver. She was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Linda Manchester of Aurora, Colo., Sharan Greene of Mesa, Ariz., and Cindy Braaksma of Kiowa, Colo.; five grandchildren; four brothers, Joe of Ord, Hank of Grand Island, Jerry of Council Bluffs and Frank of Waterloo; and one sister, Mildred Vasicek of Madison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard; and one daughter, Rebecca.
H. Robert Meyer
H. Robert Meyer, 72, of Grand Island died Monday, Oct. 12, 1998, at his home.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church in Worms. The Rev. Karl Ziegler will officiate. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery.
There will be no visitation. Mr. Meyer was cremated.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the donor's choice.

Mr. Meyer was born on Nov. 7, 1925, on a farm northeast of St. Libory to Henry J. and Meta (Wiegert) Meyer. He attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School in Worms and then farmed with his family.
He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Naval Reserve from January 1945 to July 1950. Upon his discharge, he returned to St. Libory and farmed.
He married
Jane (Johnson) Preston on April 24, 1954, at Worms. The couple lived on a farm northwest of Worms. He served as the St. Libory postmaster from 1964 to 1989. The couple moved to Grand Island in May 1988. Mrs. Meyer died on Sept. 5, 1997.
Mr. Meyer enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, reading and wine making.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Worms, American Legion Post 120 of Palmer and the Platt-Duetsche. He served on the St. Libory Volunteer Fire Department from 1967 to 1988.
Survivors include one son, Timothy Meyer of Grand Island; three daughters, Becky (Mrs. Alan) Wissing of St. Libory, Mary Beth Meyer of Grand Island and Alice (Mrs. Dan) Hodges of Thedford; six grandchildren; two sisters, Norma (Mrs. Max) Lorenzen and Helen (Mrs. Herb) Koch, both of Grand Island; and one brother, Elmer Meyer of Salt Lake City.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Marvin Meyer; and one sister, Edna Quandt.
Dorothy Schuster
Dorothy Schuster, 67, of rural Grand Island died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998, at her home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Douglas Russell will officiate. Burial will be in the Phillips Cemetery.

Stella Augustin
HASTINGS -- Stella Augustin, 96, of Hastings died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998, at her home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Brand-Wilson Chapel in Hastings. The Rev. Sam Rathod will officiate. Burial will be in Cedarview cemetery at Doniphan.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Augustin was born on Feb. 15, 1902, at Hill City, Kan., to Orlando and Ella (Thornton) Pearson.
She married
E.G. Stoop on April 3, 1921. They lived most of their lives in or near Doniphan, where they farmed. He died in November 1984.
She was a member of the Doniphan Methodist Church and the Eagles Auxiliary in Grand Island.
Survivors include one sister, Violet Hill of Hastings.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister.
Rolland Gissler
OSCEOLA -- Rolland A. Gissler, 73, of Osceola died Monday, Oct. 12, 1998, at Osceola.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Osceola. The Rev. Clifford Hoper will officiate. Burial will be in the Osceola cemetery with military honors by William Wolfe Post 91.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kepner-Roberts Funeral Home in Osceola.
Mr. Gissler was born on Jan. 11, 1925, at Osceola to Rudolf and Hannah (Karlsson) Gissler. He graduated from Osceola High School in 1942 and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
He married
Sarah Jane Kistler on June 2, 1949, in Lincoln. He was a junior high school teacher in Osceola and Central City.
He was a member of the Osceola Lions Club and St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dean of Denver and Craig of Lincoln; three grandchildren; two brothers, Bert of Osceola and Leonard of Billings, Mont.; and two sisters, Amy Clark of Schuyler and Elsie (Mrs. Maurice) Van Houtan of Clearmont, Mo.
He was preceded in death by one son, Douglas; one brother, Bernie; and one sister, Dorothy.
