Pearl Anderson
CENTRAL CITY -- Pearl B. Anderson, 89, of Central City, formerly of Grand Island, died Thursday, May 7, 1998, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City.
Private family services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island with the Rev. Jim Keyser officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Litzenberg Memorial Long-Term Care.
Mrs. Anderson was born on Aug. 22, 1908, at Scotia to Joseph and Maggie (West) Bilyeu. She grew up and attended school in Scotia.
She married
Albert "Bus" Anderson on June 10, 1931. They lived in Overland, Kan., North Platte and Grand Island.
She enjoyed playing cards. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one daughter, Jan Frauen of Grand Island; four granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Her husband died in 1983. She also was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Arnold Miller
DANNEBROG -- Arnold Miller, 83, of Dannebrog died Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at the Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Dannebrog. The Rev. Robert Carlson will officiate. Burial will be in Oakridge cemetery at Dannebrog with military rites by Mickelsen-Larkowski American Legion Post 241 of Dannebrog.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Mr. Miller was born on Feb. 9, 1915, at Dannebrog to Andrew and Marie (Nielsen) Miller. He was raised on the family farm near Dannebrog. He attended Dannebrog schools and graduated from Dannebrog High School in 1933.
He farmed with his father before entering the U.S. Army and serving in a tank destroyer battalion in Europe during World War II. Upon his return, he worked at an alfalfa mill in Minden. He returned to Dannebrog, where he farmed with his father and brother, Earl.
After retiring, he moved to Dannebrog.
He was an avid golfer. He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, the American Legion and the former Lions Club of Dannebrog.
Survivors include two sisters, Marguerite Eby of Dannebrog and Val (Mrs. Howard) Casey of Lubbock, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Earl.
Dale Philbrick
ORD -- Dale Philbrick, 81, of Ord died Thursday, May 7, 1998, at the Valley County Hospital in Ord.
Mr. Philbrick was cremated.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Ord Christian Church. The Rev. Michael Chase will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars at the church. A private inurnment will be at the Ord City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Dennis Pohl
KEARNEY -- Dennis Pohl, 49, of Kearney, formerly of Aurora, died Thursday, May 7, 1998, in a Kearney hospital after a short bout with cancer.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Aurora cemetery with the Rev. North Sherill officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Mr. Pohl was born on July 9, 1948, at Grand Island to Carl and Bernice (Dadey) Pohl. His family lived in Phillips, where he attended school until they moved to Aurora. He graduated from Aurora High School in 1968.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972 during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he returned to Aurora. He worked at Baehr's Red and White, later Super Foods, and also worked on farms for Bob Jensen and Bob Asher.
He married
Cindy Glinsmann on Nov. 18, 1989, at Aurora. They moved to Grand Island, where he worked for several grocery stores. Two years ago, they moved to Kearney, where he worked at Grand Central IGA.
He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aurora and attended Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney. He was a member of the Aurora Veterans of Foreign Wars and Legion Club.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Collin and Nicholas, both at home; two brothers, Donald Pohl of North Glen, Colo., and Gerald Pohl of Aurora; and three sisters, Delores Pohl of Aurora, Carol Kaiser of Grand Island and Connie Larkin of Doniphan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Daryl.
Zella Mae Weldon
ST. EDWARD -- Zella Mae Weldon, 79, of St. Edward died Thursday, May 7, 1998, at Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist-Presbyterian Church in St. Edward with the Rev. Mike McInnis officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward.
Adeline Kaczor
SPENCER -- Adeline Kaczor, 71, of Spencer died Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at Marion Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spencer. The Rev. Jerome Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran cemetery in Spencer.
Brockhaus-Thenhaus Funeral Home in Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Kaczor was born on Oct. 22, 1926, at Dallas, S.D., to Emanual and Margaret (Janssen) Ring. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Gregory, S.D., and Naper. Her family moved to rural Spencer in 1943.
She married
Alfred Kaczor on Oct. 9, 1945, in Spencer.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spencer, the Dorcas Society, Lutheran Women's Mission league and Thrifty Homemakers Club.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Audrey Eddy of Spencer, Lois Lamb of Grand Island and Lori Kaczor of Kimball; one son, Jerry Kaczor of Kimball; four grandchildren; three brothers, Clayton Ring of Lake Havasu, Ariz., Leroy Ring of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Richard Ring of Underwood, Iowa; and a sister, Evelyn Favre of San Angelo, Texas.
She was preceded in death by two sons, John and Duane; two grandchildren; and one brother, Donald.
Richard Barnhart
LEHI, Utah -- Richard Oscar Barnhart, 77, of Lehi, Utah, died of cancer Wednesday, May 6, 1998, in Orem, Utah.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Palmer's Funeral Home in Fullerton. Military honors will follow at the Fullerton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Barnhart was born on Oct. 28, 1920, in North Loup to Alvah Bland and Neva (Collins) Barnhart. He served in the infantry during World War II.
He married
Ivonne Ruth Helms on Aug. 18, 1946, in Fullerton. He lived in Sargent before moving to Lehi. He was a security supervisor at the Utah State Prison.
He was a member of Mount Vista United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard L. Barnhart of Fort Collins, Colo., and Philip Barnhart of Shawnee, Okla.; one daughter, Jean I. (Mrs. Ted) Hellstrom of Highland, Utah; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Merlyn Barnhart of Worland, Wyo., and Ben Barnhart of Sargent.
