Richard Lukesh
BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Richard R. Lukesh, 76, of Beaverton, Ore., died Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at his home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Willamette National Cemetery. Mr. Lukesh was cremated.
Pegg, Paxson and Springer Chapel of Beaverton is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to St. Vincent's Hospice in Portland, Ore.
Mr. Lukesh served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He married
his wife, Lucille, in 1940 in Grand Island. They had lived in the Portland/Beaverton area since 1944. He worked as a machinist for Stark and Norris Manufacturing Co. in Portland, retiring in 1982.
He was a musician who had sang and played trumpet since childhood. He played at Elks and Eagles lodges in Oregon and Nebraska for many years.
Survivors include his wife, of Beaverton; one daughter, Sharron McMurdo of Beaverton; one brother, Bernard Lukesh of Hillsboro, Ore.; and one sister, Lillian Miller of Grand Island.
Amorfia Poulos
TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. -- Amorfia J. Poulos, 81, of Tarpon Springs, Fla., died Sunday, May 3, 1998, at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital in Tarpon Springs.
Trisagion services will be at 1:30 p.m. and funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Grand Island. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Poulos was born in Constantinople and grew up in Greece.
She married
John Poulos, who preceded her in death. She lived in Grand Island for 40 years and moved to Tarpon Springs in 1980 from Shrewsbury, N.J. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Nicholas' Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Tarpon Springs.
Survivors include one daughter, Antonia (Mrs. Bill) Giallourakis of Shrewsbury, N.J.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Christ Poulos, a 1957 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., and an Air Force pilot who died on active duty.
Mary Bock
RAVENNA -- Mary Bock, 100, of Ravenna died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at the Good Samaritan Center in Ravenna.
Rasmussen Mortuary of Ravenna is in charge of arrangements.
Donald Christensen
ST. PAUL -- Donald Lee Christensen, 69, of St. Paul died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at his home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Bob Paulson will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Grand Island City cemetery with graveside military honors by Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 of St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to the family's choice.

Alvin Eighmy
BROKEN BOW -- Alvin Leroy Eighmy, 85, of Broken Bow died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at Jennie Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow. The Rev. David Harder will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the North Platte Cemetery.
Memorials have been established to the Diabetes Foundation and the Heart Fund.
Mr. Eighmy was born on Sept. 6, 1913, in Custer County to Lee Vernon and Matilda (Swenson) Eighmy. He attended Round Hill School near Sumner.
He married
Irene McDermott in 1934, and they lived in Washington state. During the war, he trained mechanics for Boeing Aircraft in Washington. After the war, he was district manager for the Chrysler Corp. They lived in Washington for 15 years, then returned to Nebraska and lived in North Platte.
He started the Chrysler dealership in North Platte in 1950. He later sold the dealership and worked for the General Adjustment Bureau, traveling throughout the United States. Mrs. Eighmy died in May 1970. Mr. Eighmy moved to Broken Bow in 1976.
He had been a member of the Elks Lodge and Eagles Club in North Platte.
Survivors include one daughter, Marianne (Mrs. John) Baskin of Lincoln; two grandchildren; one brother, Marvin of Broken Bow; and one sister, Helen (Mrs. Vernon) Paulson of Lincoln.
Dorothy Kramer
CENTRAL CITY -- Dorothy Huxford Kramer, 91, of Central City died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Litzenberg Long-term Care in Central City.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Solt Funeral Home in Central City. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Paul Slagle
SARGENT -- Paul Slagle, 72, of Sargent died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rhoad Funeral Chapel in Sargent. The Rev. Walt Collins will officiate. Burial will be in the Gates cemetery with military graveside services.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Sargent High School Fellowship Fund.
Madolyn Gaffney
BEATRICE -- Madolyn Lilley Gaffney, 86, of Beatrice died April 14, 1999, in Beatrice.
Graveside memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen cemetery in Loup City.
There will be no visitation. Higgins Funeral Home of Loup City is in charge of arrangements.
Cecil Bernt
SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Cecil S. Bernt, 89, of Sacramento, Calif., died Tuesday, April 20, 1999.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Westminister Presbyterian Church in Sacto, Calif. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park in Sacto.
Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association, Cancer Society, or donor's choice.
Mr. Bernt was born March 26, 1910. He was a retired salesman for John Breuner Furniture in Sacramento for 34 years.
He married
Verna Mehring Browne on Aug. 31, 1931 at Plattsmouth.
Survivors include two children, Richard W. Bernt and Beverley M. Jumper.
He was preceded in death by son, David; one brother, two sisters.
