Betty Koch
WHITTIER, Calif. -- Betty L. Koch, 63, of Whittier, Calif., formerly of Hastings, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 1998, at Whittier.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island. The Rev. Jerry Quandt will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the donor's choice.
Mrs. Koch was born on Jan. 22, 1935, at Holyoke, Colo., to Leo and Margaret (Kottwitz) Krueger. She grew up and attended school in Hastings and graduated from Hastings High School in 1952.
She married
Robert L. Koch on June 8, 1952, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hastings. They moved to Montebello, Calif., in 1954. She worked as a customer service representative at GTE. They had lived in Whittier since 1969. She retired on Dec. 31, 1991.
She was a member of the Lutheran faith. She enjoyed quilting and other crafts.
Survivors include four sons, Terry Koch of Glenpool, Okla., John Koch and Eric Koch, both of Whittier, Calif., and Jeffery Koch of Escondido, Calif.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Roma Hicks of Downey, Calif.; and five brothers, Ray Krueger of Centerville, Utah, Len Krueger and Vince Krueger, both of Hastings, Arlon Krueger of Doniphan and Darrell Krueger of North Platte.
Her husband died on Jan. 21, 1998. She also was preceded in death by one sister, Luella Wright.
Marie Landgraf
LAKE VIEW, Iowa -- Marie Ebelena Landgraf, 87, of Lake View, Iowa, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church in Juniata. The Rev. Steve Heinsen will officiate. Burial will be in Concordia cemetery at Juniata.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday at Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View, Iowa. A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. H.W. Kramer will officiate. Further visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Landgraf was born on March 7, 1911, at Franklin to Ebel and Ehme Wolzen.
She and the Rev. Walter H. Landgraf of Oakes, N.D., were married
by his father, the Rev. William Landgraf Sr., on May 9, 1934, at McCook.
They lived at Oakes and then moved to Ord, Wymore and Utica. After her husband died in 1971, she moved to Lake View, where she was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeannette (Mrs. Donald) Gerdes and Faye Kruse; one son, Donald Landgraf; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Linda Malone
CHICAGO -- Linda Lorraine Malone, 74, of Chicago died Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998, at Ravenswood Medical Center in Chicago.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley. The Rev. Gerald Carlsen will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery in Greeley.
Visitation will be prior to service time Friday.
Memorials are suggested to cancer research.

Mrs. Malone was born on Nov. 7, 1923, at Greeley to Brainard and Elizabeth (Donovan) Hughes. When she was a child, her family moved to Washington state and lived there for four years before returning to Greeley. She then moved to Nebraska City to live with her grandparents. She later joined her sisters in New Mexico, where she graduated from high school.
She moved to Chicago and married
Hugh Malone in 1958. She remained in Chicago until her death.
Survivors include her husband, of Louisiana; one son, Dereck Malone of Los Angeles; and one sister, LaMonte Fox of West Los Angeles, Calif.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Magee.
Myrtis Hartman
Myrtis L. Hartman, 77, of Grand Island died Monday, June 22, 1998, at Grand Island.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Messiah Lutheran Church. The Rev. Douglas Stensby will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the Central Nebraska Humane Society.
Mrs. Hartman was a member of the Spencer Methodist Church in Spencer. She enjoyed doing crafts, needlepoint, giving to others and sending cards and letters to family and friends. She enjoyed feeding birds and caring for her pets.
Bertha Kuszak
Bertha B. Kuszak, 78, of Grand Island died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at the emergency room of St. Francis Medical Center.
Private family services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the All Faiths Chapel of the Grand Island Veterans Home. The Rev. Marty Egging will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. scriptural rosary service, Thursday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The casket will be closed.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Kuszak was born on March 27, 1920, at Farwell to Frank and Vernie (Lubash) Koperski. She grew up in the Farwell area and attended public and parochial schools there.
She married
Leo Kuszak on Nov. 22, 1938, at Ashton. They lived in Grand Island. Mr. Kuszak died in 1992.
Mrs. Kuszak worked in the food service department of the Grand Island Veterans Home for 32 years, retiring in 1987.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and flower gardening. She also enjoyed time spent with her family.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, James Kuszak of Dannebrog, Daniel Kuszak of St. Paul and Gerald Kuszak of Grand Island; four daughters, Marjorie Creason, Bernadine Niemann and Betty Rhoads, all of Grand Island, and Darlene McAhren of Wood River; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters; and six brothers.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Leon; and one sister, Cecelia.
Janet Sims
FULLERTON - Janet Lee Sims, 48, of Fullerton died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Fullerton. The Revs. Ray Weinerman and Mary McQueen will officiate. Burial will be in the Fullerton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Palmer's Funeral Home in Fullerton.
