Jennifer Webster
GIBBON -- Jennifer Marie Webster, 18, of Gibbon died Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998, at her home following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Godberson Mortuary in Gibbon. The Rev. Larry Booze of Gibbon will officiate. Burial will be in the Gibbon Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
Miss Webster was born on March 13, 1980, in Kearney to David A. and Susan E. (Dallmann) Webster. She lived in Gibbon with her parents all her life.
Survivors include her parents; two brothers, Charles and John, at home in Gibbon; paternal grandparents, Junior and Dorothy Webster of Kearney; and maternal step grandfather and grandmother, John and Jean Smith of Elberton, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather.
Anna Wilson
ST. EDWARD -- Anna W. Wilson, 86, of St. Edward died Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998, at Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Fullerton. The Rev. Jim Howland will officiate. Burial will be in the Fullerton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton is in charge of arrangements.
LaOma Cassidy
VANCOUVER, Wash. -- LaOma Cassidy, 86, of Vancouver, Wash., formerly of Grand Island, died Monday, Nov. 9, 1998, in Vancouver.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Vancouver. Burial will be in Queen of Heaven cemetery in Rowland Heights, Calif.
Caldwell's Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's research.
Mrs. Cassidy was born on June 27, 1912, in Spalding. She attended school in Grand Island and graduated from St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in 1933. She then worked as head surgical nurse at St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland for more than 10 years.
She married
Joseph Cassidy in 1937. After World War II, she and her husband moved to Los Angeles. She worked at Los Angeles County Hospital and later for Montebello School District, where she remained until retiring in 1977.
After her retirement, she traveled around the world several times, spent many Christmases in Rome and highlighted her trips by meeting the pope. She volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels for Presbyterian Hospital in Whittier, Calif., from 1977 to 1990
She moved to Vancouver, Wash., in March 1994 and lived at Fort Vancouver Alzheimer's Care.
Survivors include her brother, Joseph Berberick of Vancouver.
Mildred Ferguson
PLAINVIEW, Texas -- Mildred Ferguson, 80, of Plainview, Texas, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998, at her home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview. The Rev. Dean McNamara will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the Family Hospice of Plainview.
Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ferguson was born on Nov. 7, 1918, in Washington County, Iowa.
She married
Vernon Ferguson on July 7, 1945, in Phoenix. Mr. Ferguson died on May 23, 1986. Mrs. Ferguson moved to Plainview in 1945 and worked for Lusters Laundry for 20 years. She worked as a cook for the Senior Citizens for six years.
She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Donna Ennis of Chapman, Charlene Costiloe of Dumas, Texas, Glenda Calino of Treino, Wash., and Carolyn Ellis of Kent, Wash.; two sons, Bob Fines and David Ferguson, both of Plainview, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sharlot Duke of Abendon, Wash.
Beverly Hayman
OGDEN, Utah -- Beverly M. Hayman, 62, of Ogden, Utah, formerly of Grand Island, died Nov. 4, 1998, at McKay-Dee Hospital following a battle with breast cancer.
Services were on Monday at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary. Bishop Wayne Crosby officiated. Burial was in Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch.
Memorials are suggested to the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah.
Mrs. Hayman was born on Dec. 4, 1935, in Grand Island to Robert G. and Wanda B. (Fisher) Meyer.
She married
Arnold D. Hayman on June 7, 1953, in Grand Island. She lived in Grand Island until moving to Utah in 1957. She was a tax examiner for the Internal Revenue Service and retired after 27 years of service.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Her hobbies included fishing, camping, boating, traveling, cross-stitching and cooking.
Survivors include her father, Robert G. Meyer of Grand Island; her mother, Wanda Borgaard of Minden; one brother, Robert T. Meyer of Nebraska; and one sister, Cindy Hartzell of Nebraska.
Ida Mae Flessner
Ida Mae Flessner, 99, of Grand Island died Friday, June 5, 1998, at the Tiffany Square Care Center of Grand Island.
Mrs. Flessner was cremated. There will be no visitation. Private family graveside services will be at a later date in the Cedar View cemetery in Doniphan.
Memorials are suggested to the Doniphan Methodist Church.

Mrs. Flessner was born on Sept. 24, 1898, to George and Elizabeth (Elishire) Elliott and St. Joseph, Mo. Her family moved to Hastings in 1914 and she graduated from Hastings High School in 1916. She attended Hastings College and Kearney State Teachers College.
She married
Henry Flessner of Doniphan on Aug. 21, 1923. Afterwhich, the couple lived in Doniphan. They moved to Hastings in 1963. Mr. Flessner died in 1980.
She taught in the public schools of Missouri and Nebraska for more than 26 years. In the 1950s, she taught fifth and sixth grades in Doniphan Public Schools. She also taught in several rural Hall County schools.
Survivors include two sisters, Elizabeth Fawcett of Cuero, Texas, and Dorothy O'Dell of Hiawatha, Kan.
Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Jack Elliott.
George Switzer
George Switzer, 66, of 146 Pletcher Terrace died Saturday, June 6, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Mike Lemons will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Fort McPherson National cemetery in Maxwell.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Switzer was born Oct. 17, 1931, to Christ and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Switzer. They moved to Medina, N.D., where he attended school. They moved to Milburn when he was 14 and finished eighth grade there.
He entered the U.S. Army on July 10, 1953. He served during the Korean War, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, as well as occupational and sharp shooter medals. He was a cook for the Army where he completed school at the Quartermaster Food Service in Fort Chaffee, Ark. He was discharged on June 4, 1955.
He returned to Milburn in 1955 where he was a ranch hand for nine years at Upstream Ranch. He then moved to Grand Island, where he farmed for Casey Cates.
He married
Lloydene Wagner Timmerman on Dec. 27, 1969. He worked for the Nebraska Department of Roads from 1977 to 1990, when he retired.
He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, driving stock cars and spending time with his family.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association and VFW.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rick Timmerman of Oceanside, Calif. and Michael Timmerman of Alda; four daughters, Bunny Wampole of Maxwell, Patsy Soto of Garden City, Kan., Susan Timmerman of Austin, Texas and Dawn Willey of Grand Island; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one brother, Albert Switzer of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Mikelyn and JoAnn and one brother, Harold.
