Dianne Larsen
Dianne M. Larsen, 44, of Grand Island died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daniel Bremer will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mrs. Larsen was born on March 19, 1953, at Grand Island to Clyde and Leona (Wiese) Larsen. She grew up and was educated in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1971.
She attended dental college in Hastings. She worked for dentists in North Platte; Council Bluffs, Iowa; and Grand Island.
She married
Jamie D. Larsen on July 1, 1978, in Grand Island. The couple lived in Grand Island. She worked for Head Start for eight years and as a paraeducator for the Doniphan Public Schools.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and past president of the Ladies Aid.
Survivors include one son, Curtis Larsen of Grand Island; her mother, Leona Bullis of Grand Island; and two sisters, Valeria Warnes and Patricia Robison, both of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
Vernon Halouska
ANSLEY -- Vernon James Halouska, 68, of Ansley, formerly of Arnold, died Monday, Jan. 12, 1998, at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Ansley. The Rev. Jim Ferguson will officiate. Burial will be in the Arnold Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
Mr. Halouska was born on March 19, 1929, at Milldale to Mr. and Mrs. Isaac J. Halouska. He attended school at Arnold.
He married
Illene Kelly in 1949. They lived in Washington state and returned to the Arnold area in 1950. Mr. Halouska served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 and was stationed in France, where he was a construction engineer. Mrs. Halouska died in 1960.
Mr. Halouska worked as a truck driver for 40 years for "Out" Larreau and Pete Hagler in Arnold. He retired in 1990 and moved to Ansley in 1995.
Survivors include two sons, Ricky Halouska of Ansley and Alan Lee Halouska of Arnold; one daughter, Patty Ann Everitt of Sargent; three grandchildren; one brother, Rich Halouska of Chula Vista, Calif.; and three sisters, Doris Catterson of Rapid City, S.D., Sharon Armstrong of Gothenburg and Alda Metheny of North Wichita, Kan.
He was preceded in death by two infant children; one granddaughter; one sister, Ruth Catterson; and another sibling.
Esther Hanson
STROMSBURG -- Esther P. Hanson, 93, of Stromsburg, formerly of Ceresco, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1998, at Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Stromsburg Evangelical Covenant Church. The Rev. Bob Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the Swedeburg cemetery at rural Ceresco.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Anderson-Dodds-Palmer Funeral Home in Stromsburg.

Clara Huebner
ALDA -- Clara Huebner, 86, of Alda died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1998, at Park Place Health Care and Rehab Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Keyser will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Huebner was born on June 10, 1911, in Merrick County to Mads and Hansine (Smidth) Sorgenfrei. She grew up and was educated in Dannebrog and Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior high in 1928.
She married
Donald Huebner on Oct. 10, 1931, at Columbus. They lived in Alda. Mr. Huebner died on Nov. 15, 1995.
Survivors include two sons, Rod Huebner of Grand Island and Jimmie Huebner of Forsyth, Mo.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one sister, Marie Wiese of Grand Island.
Victor Jones Sr.
CENTRAL CITY -- Victor John Jones Sr., 63, of Central City, formerly of Aurora, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, at his home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Aurora First Christian Church. The Rev. Jay Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Mr. Jones was born on Jan. 25, 1934, at Columbus to Kenneth and Sophia (Seberger) Jones. His mother was killed in a train accident when he was 3 years old. He grew up and attended country school south of York and attended Hampton High School.
He married
Carol Sims on Aug. 15, 1954, at Aurora. They lived in Aurora. He worked for the Farmers Union Creamery for 11 years and owned Jones Construction for 17 years. He worked at Monfort in Grand Island for 14 1/2 years. He and his wife moved to Twin Lakes near Central City.
He was a member of the Aurora First Christian Church and the Grand Island Eagles Club.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Owen of Grand Island and Victor Jr. of Aurora; two daughters, Melody Austin of Grand Island and Theresa Hart of McCook; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his stepmother, Oddetta Jones of Aurora; one brother, Wayne of Moorpark, Calif.; and three sisters, Verleen Ellis of York, Rozella Sackschewsky of Eustis and Judy Fye of Aurora.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Helmer Peterson
STROMSBURG -- Helmer Alvin "Lengthy" Peterson, 96, of Stromsburg died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1998, at Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Health Center in Osceola.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Stromsburg Baptist Church. The Rev. Duane Tweeten will officiate. Burial will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Anderson-Dodds-Palmer Funeral Home in Stromsburg. Burial will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.
Mr. Peterson was born on June 6, 1901, south of Stromsburg to Telander and Johanna Frida (Anderson) Peterson. He attended country school through the eighth grade and then farmed with his father until he began farming on his won. He earned the name "Lengthy" while playing horseshoes.
He married
Hilda Eleanor Roos of Waco on Jan. 23, 1938. He farmed north of Stromsburg until he was 77. Mrs. Peterson died on Nov. 13, 1992.
Mr. Peterson was a lifetime member of the Stromsburg Baptist Church, Scottish Rite of Columbus, Sesostris Shrine, Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star. Following his retirement, he enjoyed horse racing and watching baseball.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Espinosa of Stromsburg; one son, Donald Peterson of Stromsburg; four grandchildren, whom he helped raise, Jackie (Mrs. Don) Lambert of Palmer, David (Mrs. Lori) Birdzell of Lincoln, Jocey Branting of Osceola and Brenda Peterson of Benkelman; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Severt Peterson and Elton Peterson, both of Stromsburg, and Rex Peterson of Shelby; and six sisters, Elin Peterson, Verna McKeag and Maurine Peterson, all of Stromsburg, Thelma Turner of Chehalis, Wash., Harriett Fraley of Lincoln and Lillian Mitchell of Florida.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter and two brothers, Carroll and Milford.
Jon Schlondorf
CLARKS -- Jon Lyndon Schlondorf, 37, of Clarks died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Solt Funeral Home in Central City. The Rev. LaQuita McKibbin will officiate. Burial will be in the Clarks Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Mr. Schlondorf was born on Jan. 14, 1961, at Central City to Robert E. and Vernette L. (Kingsley) Schlondorf. He graduated from Clarks High School in 1979. He farmed in the Clarks area.
Mr. Schlondorf enjoyed gardening; all sports, especially the Huskers and baseball; and hunting. He had been active in baseball from Little League through the American Legion juniors program.
Survivors include his father, of Clarks; two brothers, Mike and Jerry, both of Clarks; two sisters, Jean (Mrs. Gary) Nelson of Newman Grove and Sue (Mrs. David) Ahmann of Omaha; and his grandmothers, Lillie Kingsley and Margaret Schlondorf, both of Central City.
He was preceded in death by his mother and two grandfathers, Henry Schlondorf and William Kingsley.
