Deborah Galindo
Deborah S. Galindo, 45, of 223 N. Grace died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997, at St. Francis Skilled Care.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Leo's Catholic Church. The Rev. Jack Rademacher will officiate.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m., with a Scripture wake service at 6 p.m., Friday at Kleine Funeral Home. Mrs. Galindo will be cremated.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Galindo was born on Aug. 22, 1952, at Grand Island to Raymond and Muriel (Guy) Thomas. She grew up and was educated in Grand Island. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1971. She worked at various businesses in Grand Island.
She married
Ramon J. Galindo Sr. in June 1986 at Grand Island. They lived in Grand Island, where she was a homemaker.
She loved shopping, swimming and the outdoors.
She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband; children Katie and Ramon Galindo Jr., both at home; a son, Jerry Christensen of Grand Island; four daughters, Tera, Cynthia, Jaime and Susanne Christensen, all of Grand Island; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Gerald and Robert Thomas, both of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Raymond.
Doris Kyncl
ALBION -- Doris Arlene Kyncl, 69, of Albion died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997, at Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion. The Rev. Brian Bergum and intern Annette Minderman will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery at Albion.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion.
Mrs. Kyncl was born on April 13, 1928, on a Madison County farm north of Newman Grove. She attended District 29 Bell School northeast of Newman Grove and graduated from Newman Grove High School in 1947.
She married
Alvin Kyncl on Dec. 13, 1950, at South Emerick Lutheran Church. They lived north of Newman Grove until the fall of 1956, when they moved to Washington state. They returned to Nebraska in late 1959 and farmed in the Boone County area.
They retired from farming in the early 1980s and moved into Albion in the early 1990s. She was a housewife and homemaker and also did custodial work at the old South Branch Church, for Farm Credit and FHA. She also worked at Pizza Hut, the Shopper and Azonic.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid.
Survivors include three sons, Ardell Kyncl of Newman Grove and David Kyncl and Paul Kyncl, both of Albion; two daughters, Linda (Mrs. Edwin) Fusselman and Nancy (Mrs. Michael) Jeratowski, both of Albion; 12 grandchildren; her mother, of Newman Grove; one sister, Rosalena Pospisil of Newman Grove; and two brothers, Fred Miller of Omaha and Lawrence Miller of Newman Grove.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, her father and one sister, Alvina Kezlan.
Rosella Pierce
AURORA -- Rosella A. Pierce, 88, of Hamilton Manor in Aurora died Monday, Dec. 29, 1997, at Aurora.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Grand Island. The Rev. Tom Ryan will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in St. Leonard's Catholic cemetery in Madison. The Rev. William Weidner will officiate.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., Thursday at Kleine Funeral Home in Grand Island.
Memorials are suggested to the cathedral.
Mrs. Pierce was born on April 27, 1909, at Madison to Anton and Mary (Smitt) Weiland. She attended St. Leonard's Parochial School in Madison and Madison High School.
She married
Robert Pierce on June 3, 1929, at Madison. They lived in Norfolk. Mr. Pierce died on Feb. 6, 1954. Mrs. Pierce moved to Grand Island in 1961.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters and the Legion of Mary.
Survivors include one nephew, Ronald Moschel of Albuquerque, N.M.; and a niece, Karen Davis of Dayton, Ohio.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
'Pink' Skinner
AURORA -- Edward "Pink" Skinner, 81, of Aurora, longtime manager of the Aurora Farmers Union, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997, at Aurora of an apparent heart attack.
Services are pending with Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Margaret Williams
SCOTIA -- Margaret G. Williams, 84, of Scotia died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997, at the Greeley Care Home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Scotia United Methodist Church. The Rev. Melanie Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery at Scotia.
Visitation will be prior to service time Friday at the church. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the Greeley Care Home.
Mrs. Williams was born on June 12, 1913, at Elkhorn to George and Anna (Hoff) Urich. She graduated from Scotia High School in 1930.
She married
M.G. "Boo" Williams on Dec. 22, 1934, in Lincoln. The couple owned, published and edited the Scotia Register until 1975, when they sold it to her brother, George Urich. She also worked for the U.S. Census Bureau for several years. Mr. Williams died on Nov. 29, 1992.
Mrs. Williams was organist for Zion Lutheran Church in Scotia and the Scotia United Methodist Church. She provided piano accompaniment for high school music students. She served as president of the Nebraska Press Women. She received the Ak-Sar-Ben Good Neighbor Award.
Survivors include one son, Thomas of Scotia; one daughter, Linda (Mrs. Jerry) Woods of Lake Oswego, Ore.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, George Urich of Scotia and Leonard Urich of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Jamie McWilliams
NORTH PLATTE -- Jamie Lynn McWilliams, 40, of North Platte, formerly of Kearney and Ravenna, died Monday, Dec. 29, 1997, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at O'Brien-Straatmann Funeral Home in Kearney. The Rev. C.J. Willis will officiate. Burial will be in the Overton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. McWilliams was born on Dec. 22, 1957, in Patagonia, Ariz. She lived in Kearney and attended Kearney elementary schools before moving to Hastings, where she attended high school.
She married
Geoffrey Marlow in 1973 in Phillipsburg, Kan.
She married
Tom McWilliams on Feb. 6, 1981, in Ravenna. She worked as a waitress. She lived in the Ravenna area, where she worked at a care home. She recently moved to North Platte.
Her favorite pastime was sewing.
Survivors include two daughters, April McWilliams and Christiann McWilliams, both of Ravenna; one granddaughter; and her parents, Glenn and Bonnie Hess of Mankato, Kan.
Dennis Baker
MESA, Ariz. -- H. Dennis Baker, 42, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Grand Island, died Monday, Dec. 29, 1997, in Mesa.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Mesa.
Mr. Baker was born on Nov. 21, 1955, in Hastings to Gale and Mabel Baker. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1974 and attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie. He played football at Grand Island Senior High and at the University of Wyoming.
He worked at BHP Copper Mine at Miami, Ariz.
He was active in the boiler maker union and served as president for four years.
Survivors include two daughters, Amber and Keely; one son, Kyle; one grandson; his mother; and a brother, Michael.
He was preceded in death by his father.
