Helen Crane
Helen M. Crane, 78, of Lakeview Nursing/Rehab Center died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at Lakeview.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daniel Bremer will officiate. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Green Hill cemetery in Laramie, Wyo.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Further visitation will be from 9 a.m. to burial time Saturday at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home in Laramie.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
Mrs. Crane was born on April 2, 1919, in Wentworth, S.D., to Frank and Ida (Eichman) Weerts. She grew up and was educated in Wentworth and graduated from Wentworth High School in 1937.
She worked in Aberdeen, S.D. She moved in 1938 to Utah, where she worked at a Navy depot. In 1948, she moved to Rawlins, Wyo., where she worked as an operator for Bell Telephone.
She married
Harold Crane on Sept. 22, 1951, in Rawlins, Wyo. The couple lived in Rawlins, Grand Island, Encampment, Wyo., and Laramie. Mr. Crane died in 1994.
Mrs. Crane moved back to Grand Island in January 1995. She lived at Riverside Lodge before moving to Lakeview in May 1996.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Grand Island. In Rawlins, Wyo., she taught the children's choir and the Sunday school nursery class and was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann (Mrs. Rick) Ressel of Grand Island; two sons, David Crane of Arlington, Texas, and Don Crane of Laramie, Wyo.; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Gerhart Weerts of Howard, S.D., Louis Weerts of Springfield, Minn., and Edward Weerts of Eau Claire, Wis.; and two sisters, Laura Amert of Madison, S.D., and Ella DeGroat of Bruce, S.D.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Elbert, Martin and Arnold; and one sister, Esther Lindholm.
Gerda Kottwitz
HASTINGS -- Gerda Elsie Kottwitz, 80, of Villa Grace in Hastings died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at Villa Grace.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings. The Rev. Harold D. Stromer will officiate. Burial will be in Parkview cemetery at Hastings.
Butler-Volland Funeral Home in Hastings is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
Mrs. Kottwitz was born on May 29, 1917, in Kublank, Germany, to Reinhold and Frieda (Spremberg) Stubbe. She moved with her family to the United States in 1921. She became a U.S. citizen on April 13, 1929.
She attended District 57 School through the eighth grade and attended Hastings High School for two years.
She married
Edwin Kottwitz on Oct. 24, 1936, in Portland, Ore. Mr. Kottwitz died in 1987.
Mrs. Kottwitz was a homemaker and worked for a time at Hastings Casket. She was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Gartner and Donna McCoy, both of Hastings; one son, Donald Kottwitz of St. Paul; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson; one great-grandson; and one brother, Gerhard Stubbe.
Elizabeth Kosch
DAVID CITY -- Elizabeth M. Kosch, 81, of David City died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, at the Butler County Health Care Center in David City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Presentation Catholic Church in Manetta. The Rev. Casey Porada will officiate. Burial will be in the Bellwood Catholic Cemetery.
Knott Funeral Home of David City is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kosch was born on April 18, 1916, in Butler County to Frank and Mary (Theewen) Aerts.
She married
Arthur Kosch on Jan. 5, 1948, at St. Francis Church in David City. She lived in the David City area all her life. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the church and DCCW.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Thomas, Gerald and Kenneth, all of David City; two daughters, Mary Beth Ekeler of Lincoln and Vicky Manion of Giltner; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Leo Aerts and Bill Aerts, both of David City, and Frank Aerts of Columbus; and three sisters, Darlene Darnel of Brownsdale, Minn., Cecilia Svoboda of Columbus and Helen Riha of David City.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, James, and another brother, Ted; and by two sisters, Dorothy Samek and Henrietta.
Dale Alloway
HASTINGS - Dale Edward Alloway, 83, of Hastings died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Hastings. The Rev. Richard A. Kothe will officiate. Burial will be in Parkview cemetery in Hastings.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the family.

Mr. Alloway was born on March 16, 1915, in Palisade to Walter and Maude (Ellsworth) Alloway.
He married
Marie C. Degner on April 8, 1933. He moved to Hastings in 1960 and managed the Dingsley Phillips 66 station and then Chris' Car Wash. After he retired, he worked for Martin Luther Homes. Mrs. Alloway died on May 23, 1986.
Mr. Alloway married
Carole Lentz on July 25, 1987.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a past member of the Zion Lutheran School Board of Education and Lutheran Laymen's League. He also served as an Alcoholics Anonymous counselor.
Survivors include his wife, Carole; three sons, Donald Alloway of Great Falls, Va., Harold Alloway of Hastings and Michael Lentz of Peyton, Colo.; four daughters, Joyce Halbmaier and Connie Gerhart, both of Hastings, Machelle Janssen of Grand Island and Carri Francis Frank of Chandler, Ariz.; 29 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Delphia White of Salem, Ore.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by four sons, two daughters, two great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.
Ruby Dailey
RAVENNA - Ruby M. Dailey, 86, of Ravenna, formerly of Beatrice, died Friday, Nov. 20, 1998, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. James' Catholic Church in Kearney. The Rev. Jim Golka will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in Beatrice.
A wake service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Rasmussen Mortuary in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dailey was born on March 18, 1912, on a farm near Greene, Iowa, to Archie L. and Mabel M. (Reams) Baker. She graduated from Greene High School and moved to Odell in 1930.
She married
Francis C. Dailey on June 27, 1931, at Odell. She lived in Odell until 1973. She then moved to Beatrice, where she lived until March 1998. She recently had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Ravenna.
Mrs. Dailey was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Altar Society in Odell and a former member of the Elks Lodge and Odd Fellows of Beatrice.
Survivors include one son, Robert L. Dailey of Brooksville, Fla.; three daughters, Jacqueline Ault of Kearney, Joanne Simmons of Chandler, Ariz., and Lucille Ruder of Kearney; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, two brothers and one sister.
Margaret Dolce
SPALDING -- Margaret P. Dolce, 82, of Spalding died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, at Friendship Villa in Spalding.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spalding. The Rev. Frank Hoelck will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m., with rosaries at 4:30 and 8 p.m., Tuesday at Dolce-Scheef Mortuary in Spalding.
Mrs. Dolce was born on June 1, 1916, in Minneapolis to Leo and Esther (Moore) Pike. Both her parents died by the time Mrs. Dolce was 12 years old, and she moved to Greeley to live with family.
She attended school in O'Connor and Greeley and graduated from Spalding Academy in 1936. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha.
She married
Michael D. Dolce on Jan. 7, 1939, in Spalding. She helped him manage Dolce Mortuary until his death on Aug. 15, 1995.
Mrs. Dolce was a member of St. Ann's Altar Society and Catholic Daughters.
Survivors include one son, John Dolce of Papillion; three daughters, Emily Brenn of Holdrege, Jill Gillham of St. Paul and Marlynn Scheef of Spalding; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
