Donald Thompson
ST. PAUL -- Donald Deryl Thompson, 73, of St. Paul died Monday, March 22, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Grand Island.
Military services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kleine Funeral Home in Grand Island. Burial will be in Burkett cemetery at the Grand Island Veterans Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Thompson was born on Aug. 4, 1925, in Lincoln. He was adopted by Halbert and Ruth (Minter) Thompson when he was 2 years old. He was raised on a ranch near Koshopa and attended Cottonwood School in Blaine County.
He entered the U.S. Army in 1943 and served in the 9th Infantry. He served in the battle for the Rhineland in central Europe and also at the Battle of the Bulge. He received many medals for heroism and conduct and was discharged from the service on Feb. 2, 1946. He returned to the ranch.
He married
Mahala Glause on July 31, 1946. He lived in Oklahoma, Wyoming and Missouri before settling in St. Paul. He enjoyed oil painting, carving, restoring and building furniture, restoring cars and hunting and fishing.
Survivors include one son, James R. Thompson of Hastings; three daughters, Genevieve J. Rehnelt of North Platte, Kathy Crawford of Kearney and Judy Colfack of Page; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and an adopted sister, Carol Ann Spencer of Broken Bow.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents and a foster brother, Jim Holmes.
Wilma Williams
ALBION -- Wilma Lucile Williams, 90, died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Albion. The Rev. Timothy Stahls will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Levander Funeral Home in Albion is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Williams was born on Nov. 30, 1908, at Albion to Carl and Edith (Poor) Spaulding. She attended Boone County District 13 School west of Albion and graduated from Albion High School in 1927.
She married
John David Williams on June 16, 1927. They farmed in the Newman Grove area and later moved to Albion. In addition to being a housewife and homemaker, Mrs. Williams worked at Lee's Variety Store, Modern Fashions and the Boone County welfare office.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Albion, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent. She was a member of Baptist Ladies Judson Society, Beaver Valley Club and Loretto Home Improvement Club.
Mr. Williams died in 1993, and Mrs. Williams entered the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion in 1994.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley (Mrs. Earvin) Noble of Albion; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Edwin John "Jack"; two sisters, Rose and Grace; and five brothers, Sumner, Ernest, Bion, Kenneth and Henry.
Paul Wimer
BROKEN BOW -- Paul T. Wimer, 85, of Broken Bow died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at Jennie Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of God in Broken Bow. The Revs. Stephen Kerr and Bill Jay will officiate. Burial will be in Lone Tree cemetery at Weissert.
Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wimer was born on Nov. 17, 1913, at Scottsbluff to George and Hattie (Funkhouser) Wimer. He attended school in Scottsbluff and Gordon.
He married
Sylvia Iggulden on Dec. 2, 1932, in Scottsbluff. The couple moved in 1942 to Oregon, where he worked as a welder during World War II. Later they moved to California, where Mr. Wimer worked as a welder at the Marie Island Naval Base.
In 1959, they moved to Alliance, where he served as a pastor. He also worked at Bates Landa Funeral Home and as a carpenter. They moved to Broken Bow in 1962, and he assumed pastoral duties at the Church of God at Weissert. He retired from the ministry in 1995.
He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Paula Dentino (Mrs. David) of Sacramento, Calif.; one son, Kenneth Wimer of Sacramento, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Thompson of Fairfield, Calif., Velma Yoder of Canby, Ore., and Bessie Pullin of California; and one brother, Dean Wimer of Oregon.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Vernaren White
ROSEVILLE, Calif. -- Vernaren M. White, 78, of Roseville, Calif., died March 10, 1999, at the Roseville Hospital.
Mrs. White was born to S.A. and Ruth Hayman of Grand Island.
She married
James White.
Survivors include five brothers, Norman and Raymond Hayman, both of Grand Island, Rodney Hayman of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Lowell and Arnold Hayman of Odgen, Utah.; and a sister, Donna Guyette of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Rolland and Wendell Hayman.
Aleen Moore
Aleen N. Moore, 82, 612 Linden Ave., died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Stan Murdoch will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon at Kleine Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Moore was born Sept. 24, 1916, at the family farm south of Brady to Clyde E. and Myna A. (Earll) Northey. She received her education at Gothenburg.
She married
Charles A. Moore on May 5, 1938, at North Platte. The couple lived at Roundup and Great Falls, Mont. Mrs. Moore was a homemaker who enjoyed hand-quilting and collecting chickens. Mr. Moore died in April 1971.
Mrs. Moore was a member of First Baptist Church at Gothenburg and attended the First Baptist Church at Kearney.
She is survived by three sons, David and Allen, both of Farnam, and Leonard of North Platte; three daughters, Connie (Mrs. Cecil) Morton of Vista, Cal., Charlene Sawyer of Gothenburg and Jolita Moore of Grand Island; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Other than her husband, she was preceded is death by a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter, two sisters and four brothers.
Bishop John Paschang
The Most Reverend John L. Paschang, 103, retired bishop of the Grand Island Diocese, died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point.
Services are pending with Livingston-Sondermann Funeral.
Patricia Konwinski
FULLERTON -- Patricia A. Konwinski, 60, of Fullerton died Sunday, March 21, 1999, at Litzenberg Memorial Hospital in Central City.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peters Catholic Church in Fullerton. Burial will be in the Fullerton Catholic Cemetery. The Rev. Don Cleary will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a vigil service at 7 p.m. followed by a rosary at the Palmer Funeral in Fullerton.

Rev. Paul Wimer
BROKEN BOW -- The Rev. Paul T. Wimer, 85, of Broken Bow died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at the Jennie M. Melham Memorial Center in Broken Bow.

Wimer is survived by his wife, Sylvia Wimer of Broken Bow; a son, Kenneth of Sacramento, Cal.; a daughter, Paula Dentino of Broken Bow; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Thompson of California; Velma Yoder of Oregon; Bessie Pullin of California, and a brother, Dean of Oregon.
