Florence Coonce
AURORA -- Florence Fanetta Coonce, 86, of Aurora died Friday, March 19, 1999, at Hamilton Manor in Aurora.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Burr Oak cemetery in Burr Oak, Kan. The Rev. Merle Rowe will officiate. Higby Mortuary in Aurora is in charge of arrangements.
There will be no visitation.
Mrs. Coonce was born on Aug. 31, 1912, at Burr Oak, Kan., to Lester and Gladys (McVey) Cook. She graduated from Hampton High School in Hampton, Kan., and later returned to Burr Oak to teach school.
She married
Prin Howell on Nov. 22, 1945, and they lived in Mankato, Kan. He died in 1954.
She married
Glen Coonce on June 21, 1958, in California. Mrs. Coonce worked as a nurse's aide from 1962 to 1984 in Mankato and took care of older people in her home. Mr. Coonce died in 1967. Mrs. Coonce moved to Aurora in 1984.
Survivors include one brother, Richard Cook of Boise, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her infant twins; a brother, Robert; and four sisters, Hattie Kirkpatrick, Mary Cook, Edith Emerick and an infant sister.
Eugene Fuller
BROKEN BOW -- Eugene E. Fuller, 72, of Broken Bow died Friday, March 19, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services are pending with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow.
Warren Loftis
CENTRAL CITY -- Warren H. Loftis, 78, of Central City died Friday, March 19, 1999, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Solt Funeral Home in Central City. Scott Butcher will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Hartington Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Robert Wozny
FULLERTON -- Robert Leo Wozny, 60, of Fullerton died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fullerton. Burial will be in the Fullerton Catholic cemetery with military rites.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday with a vigil service at 7 p.m. followed by a rosary at Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton.
Mr. Wozny was born on June 8, 1938, in Linwood to Louis and Frances (Wozniak) Wozny. The family moved north of Fullerton when Mr. Wozny was an infant. He attended District 22 School east of town and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1955. He then attended business school in Omaha.
He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1956 and was stationed in Washington state and Texas.
He married
Doris LaRae Couch on Dec. 31, 1956. After the service, he worked for Boeing Aviation in Seattle. They moved back to Fullerton in 1972.
He worked for Lindsey Manufacturing, Sunstrand Aviation in York and most recently at Behlen Manufacturing in Columbus as a machinist.
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society.
He enjoyed reading and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel of Sioux City, Iowa, and Adam of Grand Island; three daughters, Cindy Wozny of Sandy, Utah, Michaela Beckman of Tupelo, Miss., and Karen (Mrs. Mark) Prorok of St. Edward; nine grandchildren; his mother, of Fullerton; one sister, Catherine (Mrs. Cletus) Werner of St. Edward; and three brothers, Richard of Omaha, David of Cameron, Wis., and Edward of Columbus.
His wife died on May 5, 1996. He also was preceded in death by two children and his father.
Virgil Nelson
NEWMAN GROVE -- Virgil Dale Nelson, 75, of Newman Grove died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at BryanLGH Medical Center in Lincoln.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church in St. Edward. The Rev. David Collins will officiate. Burial will be in Salem cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 73 of Newman Grove.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion and from 10:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Newman Grove Rescue Squad.
Mr. Nelson was born on Oct. 6, 1923, on a farm east of Albion to Victor and Ida (Paulson) Nelson. He was educated at Platte County District 61 School and attended Newman Grove High School.
He entered the U.S. Navy on March 18, 1943, and served as a petty officer in the Naval Air Command. He served in World War II and the Korean War and earned several medals and nine battle stars. He was in the Navy for seven years and later served in the Air National Guard of Colorado and the Air Force Reserve.
He married
Donna Larson on Jan. 15, 1948, in Newman Grove. He operated Nelson Auto Repair there until his retirement in 1984.
Mr. Nelson was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. He also was a volunteer firefighter.
He is survived by one son, John Robert of Wichita Falls, Texas; one daughter, Deborah Grubaugh of Columbus; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Don of Dublin, Calif., and Lowell of St. Edward.
Camille Townsend
OMAHA -- Camille L. Townsend, 27, of Omaha, formerly of St. Paul, died Friday, March 19, 1999, at her home from a lengthy illness.
Services are pending with Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Charles Criss
CLAY CENTER -- Charles William Criss, 61, of Clay Center died Friday, March 5, 1999, at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Brand-Wilson Chapel in Hastings. The Rev. Russell Houser will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Criss was born on Dec. 6, 1937, at Blue Rapids, Kan., to Walter Irving and Ethel Evelyn (Estes) Criss.
He married
Ruby Jean Constable. They were later divorced.
He married
Roberta Lee Gibbs on Aug. 2, 1975, at Central City.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta; one daughter, Teresa Anne Anderson of Texas; four stepdaughters, Linda Natel of California, June Kneifel, Laurie Cline and Kathy Holz, all of Nebraska; four sons, Charles Ray, Rodney Gene, Ricky Dean and Shane Earl Criss, all of Texas; one stepson, Lynn Smith of Goodland, Kan.; 27 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Darlene Ostrander of Nebraska; and two brothers, Wayne Dale and LeRoy Edwin Criss, both of Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, his parents and two sisters.
Charlotte Deichman
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Charlotte Deichman, 77, of Glendale, Ariz., formerly of Grand Island, died March 2, 1999.
Services were on Saturday at the Chapel of the Chimes in Glendale. Burial was in Veterans cemetery in Arizona.
Mrs. Deichman was born on Feb. 10, 1922, at Albion to Joseph and Ruth (Whiting) Swanson. She graduated from Grand Island High School.
She married
Carl B. Deichman on July 19, 1941. They lived in various states and Greece during Mr. Deichman's Air Force career. After his retirement, they lived in Colorado and Arizona.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Debra (Mrs. Tom) Hermanson of Littleton, Colo.; a son, Curt Deichman of Elkridge, Utah; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Milton Swanson of Grand Island and Paul Swanson of St. Paul.

Tyler Heins
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Luke Christopher Heins and Tyler Matthew Heins, infant twin sons of Russell and Jodi (Rylance) Heins, died Sunday, March 7, 1999, at Sioux Falls, S.D.
Services were on Tuesday at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. The Rev. Franklin Evans officiated. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery in Sioux Falls.
Luke and Tyler were born on Feb. 17, 1999, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Survivors include their parents and a brother, Austin, all of Sioux Falls; grandparents, Frank and Barb McNelis of Grand Island and Ray and Roberta Rylance of Watertown, S.D.; and great-grandparents, Ella Bollesen, Irene Knuth and Anna McNelis, all of Grand Island.
