Lloyd 'Yogi' Baer
MADISON -- Lloyd "Yogi" Baer, 64, of Madison died Monday, March 1, 1999, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion. The Rev. Norman Prather will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in St. Edward.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Baer was born on Sept. 5, 1934, in Bellwood to Ben and Nell (Donohoe) Baer. He attended Bellwood public schools and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
After leaving Lincoln, he moved to Norfolk, where he worked at Nucor Steel.
He owned and operated Baer's Family Restaurant in Norfolk. He worked as a truck driver for Apache Manufacturing and then worked for Cleo Lenge Trucking until January 1996, when he became ill.
He married
Anita Jensen on Dec. 2, 1995, in Madison. They lived in Madison.
He was a member of the Methodist Church in Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Greg and Doug, both of Lincoln; one daughter, Tiffany of Norfolk; one stepson, Tony Mittelstaedt of Hawaii; three stepdaughters, Darcy Mittelstaedt of Omaha and Dena and Dodie Mittelstaedt, both of Madison; one brother, Boyd of West Point; and two sisters, Ina Lou (Mrs. Ernie) Bohuslavsky of Columbus and Donna Stephens of York.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and one sister, Bertha Mary Rauscher.
Maxine Brunzell
LINCOLN -- Maxine A. Brunzell, 77, of Lincoln died Monday, March 1, 1999, at Lincoln.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Roper and Sons Chapel in Lincoln. The Rev. Carl E. Horton will officiate. Entombment will be in the Lincoln Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from noon Wednesday until noon Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Westminster Presbyterian Church or the American Heart Association.
Mrs. Brunzell was born at West Point. She was an executive secretary for Security Mutual and Bankers Life until 1947. She was a secretary for Howard Stewart Accounting.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, Scott Brunzell of Grand Island; a daughter, Cathy J. (Mrs. Bruce) Hahn of Lincoln; four grandchildren; five sisters, Jean Gonoringer of Omaha, Joann Jones of Denver, Donna Benne of West Point, Katherine Kaup of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Janet Padrnos of Omaha; and two brothers, Jim Jerman of Worthington, Minn., and Joseph Jerman Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo.
'Berkie' Nelson
LARAMIE, Wyo. -- Roberta "Berkie" Nelson, 72, of Laramie, Wyo., died Monday, March 1, 1999, at Ivinson Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Laurence O'Toole Catholic Church. The Rev. Ray Moss will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
A vigil and rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home in Laramie.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of vigil and rosary Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Laramie.
Mrs. Nelson was born on Feb. 20, 1927, in Grainton to Peter J. and Mary A. (Nealon) Meister.
She married
Eugene Nelson on Aug. 20, 1960, at Laramie. The couple lived in Laramie, Afton, Kemmerer, Cheyenne and Littleton, Wyo. They returned to Laramie five months ago.
She was a member of St. Laurence O'Toole Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Patricia Nieters of Cheyenne, Wyo., Christine Garthe of Holland, Mich., and Teresa Nelson of Littleton, Colo.; seven grandchildren; four brothers, John A., William J., Frances J. and James E. Meister; and four sisters, Marie Smollen of Hurst, Texas, Anna Maser of Green River, Wyo., Marcie Deschene of Lincoln and Emma Krafczik of Laramie, Wyo.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert P. Meister.
Sister Mary Ann Wissing
MILWAUKEE -- Sister Mary Ann Wissing, 84, of Milwaukee died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at the Sacred Heart Clinic in Milwaukee.
Services were on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Convent Chapel with burial at Mount Olivet in Milwaukee.
The Altstadt-Tyborski Funeral Home in Milwaukee was in charge of arrangements.
Sister Mary Ann was born on June 5, 1914, at St. Libory to Gerhard and Anna (Buddecke) Wissing. She graduated from St. Libory's Parochial School and entered the Convent School of the Sisters of St. Francis in Milwaukee in January 1934.
She was the professional head cook for more than 30 years at the motherhouse, where she cooked for more than 600 sisters daily. She also spent many years of service in Chicago.
She enjoyed crafts, loved music and was an avid baseball fan.
Survivors include her sisters, Agnes Roepker of Grand Island and Clara (Mrs. Albert) Schwenk of St. Libory.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, John and five infant brothers.
Arnold Bosselman
Arnold C. Bosselman, 91, of Grand Island died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at the St. Francis Skilled Care Unit.
Services are pending with Kleine Funeral Home.
Viola Kolar
Viola M. Kolar, 78, of 1610 N. Cleburn died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Quandt will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Ord Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Eileen Schinkel
Eileen E. Schinkel, 89, of Grand Island died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in Grand Island.
Services are pending at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Leon Borgeson
HASTINGS -- Leon A. Borgeson, 59, of Hastings died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hastings. The Rev. David F. Bourek will officiate. Burial will be in Parkview cemetery at Hastings.
A rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Butler-Volland Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the Emergency Protective Shelter.
Mr. Borgeson was born on Aug. 29, 1939, in Hastings to A.G. and Lanora (Egan) Borgeson. He graduated from St. Cecilia's High School in 1957 and attended Hastings College.
He worked at Kerr Chevrolet for almost 35 years, succeeding his father as sales manager in 1974.
He married
Kay Wagner.
Mr. Borgeson was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and New Car and Truck Dealers Association. He was a mixer coordinator for the Hastings Chamber of Commerce.
He was a past member of Junior JayCees, past president of Southern Hills Country Club, past president and board of education member at St. Cecilia's Catholic School and Hastings Catholic Home School board member. He was an avid outdoorsman and a past member of Four Rivers Sportsman's Club and Hastings Archery Club. He lived his entire life in Hastings.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Shawn of Tampa, Fla., and Scott of Boston; two daughters, Denise Borgeson of Albuquerque, N.M., and Joan Borgeson of Hastings; two grandsons; one stepsister, Barbara Billingsley of Omaha.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
