Gwen Lockhart
NORTH LOUP -- Gwen F. Lockhart, 70, of North Loup died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Mrs. Lockhart was cremated. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the North Loup United Methodist Church. The Rev. Melanie Adams will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the North Loup-Scotia Rescue Unit.
Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lockhart was born on July 31, 1928, at North Loup to George and Erma (Smith) Eberhart. She graduated from North Loup High School in 1945. She then worked in Omaha for a short time.
She married
Cecil Lockhart on Oct. 12, 1947, at Ord. The couple farmed in the Ericson area for several years. They moved to Arkansas in 1950 and farmed there for four years. They lived in Fort Collins, Colo., from 1956 until 1975, when they moved to Walden, Colo. They owned and operated Walden Hardware and Sporting Goods Store.
They sold the store in 1996 and retired in North Loup. She enjoyed gardening and had many houseplants and flowers.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Steven and Tracy, both of Denver; one daughter, Carol (Mrs. Ken) Smith of Longmont, Colo.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two sisters, Darlene Schwieger of North Loup and Jolene (Mrs. Ron) Bugay of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Sharon Lofton, Connie Walkup and an infant sister.
'Morris' McGuire
WOOD RIVER -- Francis "Morris" McGuire, 81, of Wood River died Friday, July 31, 1998, at Lakeview Rehab/Nursing Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wood River. The Revs. Ray Kosmicki, Don Larmore and Tom Dowd will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the Damien Leper Society.
Elizabeth Meyer
PALMER -- Elizabeth A. Meyer, 95, of Palmer died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Worms. The Rev. Karl Ziegler will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Palmer Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to "The Lutheran Hour" and the Zion Lutheran Church Radio Ministry.
Mrs. Meyer was born on June 9, 1903, at Norka, Russia, to Peter and Margaret (Dick) Helzer. She came to America in 1906. They moved to Grand Island and later to the Worms area. She was educated in country schools.
She married
William Meyer on June 24, 1925, at Worms. They farmed and raised turkeys and chickens. Mr. Meyer died on April 9, 1983. She remained on the farm until two years ago, when she moved to Community Care at Palmer.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Dorcas Ladies Aid. She sewed hundreds of quilts for Lutheran World Relief.
Survivors include one son, Orville of Lincoln; one daughter, Adeline (Mrs. Paul) Nelson of Lincoln; 19 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Eugene and Marlin.
Loretta Schutt
SHELTON -- Loretta B. Schutt, 86, died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998, at her home northeast of Shelton.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River. The Rev. Charles Spence will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery at Grand Island.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Shelton Rescue Unit.
Mrs. Schutt was born on May 29, 1912, on a farm between Wood River and Shelton to Fred and Clara (Slattery) Cox. She attended a rural school and Shelton High School.
She married
Roy Schutt on Dec. 24, 1930, in Hastings. The couple lived north of Shelton, where they farmed. Mr. Schutt died in 1976.
Mrs. Schutt continued to live on the farm until the time of her death.
Survivors include one son, Robert of Shelton; one daughter, Barbara (Mrs. Orville) Blauhorn of Palmer; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Viola Monthey of Shelton.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Barbara Worm
BURWELL -- Barbara June Worm, 51, of Burwell died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998, at her home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Burwell. The Rev. Roger Gillming will officiate. Burial will be in Kent cemetery near Taylor.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Eberle-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
Mrs. Worm was born on Oct. 13, 1946, in Sargent to Hubert and Dessie (Gardner) Teahon.
She married
Roland Worm on June 13, 1965, in Sargent. She managed the Pump and Pantry in Burwell. She also worked at United Nebraska Bank in Burwell, the Sargent and Burwell nursing homes, the Bridge Club in Taylor and was a nurse for Dr. Weiler in Burwell. She also sold Avon.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading, collecting butterflies and flowers.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Brad Worm of Burwell and Mike Worm of Taylor; one grandson; two brothers, Wilbur Teahon of Bountiful, Utah, and Dick Teahon of Omaha; and two sisters, Patricia (Mrs. Darral) Bartley of Ravenna and Beverly (Mrs. Fred) Dubas of Burwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Lucille Beran
Lucille M. Beran, 73, of Grand Island died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, at her home.
Services are pending at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Germaine Batenhorst
CEDAR RAPIDS -- Germaine Batenhorst, 79, of Cedar Rapids died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha.
Services are pending with Levander Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids.
Robert Kemling
DONIPHAN -- Robert Kemling, 66, of Doniphan died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, at his home in Doniphan.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Doniphan. The Rev. Bill Hunter will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the Cedarview Cemetery. Mr. Kemling was cremated.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.

Mr. Kemling was born Sept. 25, 1931, to Wilbur and Laura (Goltry) Kemling at Grant. He grew up in Grant on the family farm and received his education from District 36 country school, graduating from Perkins County High School in 1949.
He entered the U.S. Coast Guard on Dec. 5, 1950, and was honorably discharged on Dec. 4, 1953, as an engineman.
On Aug. 3, 1954, he married
Anna Marie Floyd at Owensboro, Ky. The couple lived in Owensboro until 1957. They moved to Gering where he farmed. In 1963, they moved to Omaha and he began his career with an H&R; Block franchise. He moved to Doniphan in 1995.
On April 27, 1996, he married
Dona (DiCicco) Warren at Doniphan. At the time of his death, he and his wife, owned the Grand Island and Columbus H&R; Block franchises. He was a member of the Christian faith. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, his garden and being with his family. He was a longtime thoroughbred racing fan and owner.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Larry Kemling of Grand Island; two stepsons, Harold "Skip" Warren III of London, England, and J. Bradley Warren of Medford, N.J.; two daughters, Shari (Mrs. Timothy) Anderson of Shelton and Kemberly (Mrs. Chad) Loecker of Omaha; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and four brothers, Paul Kemling of Aurora, Dale Kemling of Grant, Dwight Kemling of Lincoln and Glendon Kemling of Coram, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and two brothers, Max and Orville.
