Kenneth Brown
MARICOPA, Ariz. -- Kenneth Carl Brown, 53, of Maricopa, Ariz., died Aug. 17, 1998.
Memorial services were on Saturday in Phoenix.

Mr. Brown was born on July 4, 1945, in Nance County to Roger and Elsie Brown. He graduated from Fullerton High School in 1963.
He married
Patricia Wiles Brush on May 3, 1969, in Grand Island. Both worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant.
The Browns moved to Arizona in 1982 and took up ranching. Mr. Brown also worked as a mechanic. He spent the past 15 years as head mechanic for Roberts Tire Co. at Gilbert, Ariz.
He had served in the National Guard, was a member of the American Legion and also a volunteer firefighter.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jason of Phoenix and Matthew of Gilbert, Ariz.; a grandson; two brothers, Robert of Salt Lake City and Bryan of Omaha; and a sister, Jean Schleif of Fairbury.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Esther Olsen
Esther Olsen, 91, of Grand Island died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998, at the Tiffany Square Care Center in Grand Island.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Island. Rev. Vern Rice will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Mrs. Olsen was born July 8, 1907, at McCook to John and Mary (Webber) Brenning. She grew up in Grand Island and received her education at Lincoln and Howard schools.
She married
Frank Olsen in 1923 at Grand Island. They lived all their married
life in Grand Island where she was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and making pictures.
Survivors include nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by eight sisters.
Pearl E. Denman
AURORA -- Pearl E. Denman, 92, a resident at Memorial Long-Term Unit in Aurora, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at Aurora.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island.
Nettie Pearl Hilderbrand
CENTRAL CITY -- Nettie Pearl Hilderbrand, 91, of Central City died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Solt Funeral Home Chapel in Central City. Rev. Dale Sallans will officiate. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. to service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hilderbrand was born Aug. 31, 1907, in Arkansas to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown. She attended rural Merrick County School and Central City High School.
She married
Frederick A. "Fritz" Hilderbrand on Feb. 11, 1925. They lived in Central City all of their married
life.
Survivors include three sons, Verlin, Dale and Merlin, all of Central City; one daughter, Carol Lynn Hilderbrand of Grand Island; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Merle; and two grandchildren.
May Rasmussen
ST. PAUL -- Ruth May Rasmussen, 82, of St. Paul, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island.
Marrianne Longenecker
AURORA -- Marrianne Longenecker, 48, of Aurora died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at her home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gass-Haney Funeral Home in Columbus. Rev. Henry Joedeman will officiate. Burial will be at Shell Creek Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Shell Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Longenecker was born May 1, 1950, at Columbus to Milton and Louise May (Lohr) Brunken. She graduated from Clarks High School.
She married
Ernest Longenecker on Aug. 20, 1983, at Clarks. The couple lived in Clarks until moving to Aurora in 1997. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Central City Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; three brothers, Carl of Columbus, Louis of Clarks, Richard of McCord Bend, Mo.; four sisters, Fern (Mrs. Peter) Boldt of St. Catharines, Ontario, Irene (Mrs. Robert) Johnston of Platte Center, Karen (Mrs. Ron) Tholen of MaComb, Mich., Sharon Brunken of Clarks; mother, Louise Brunken of Clarks.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Charles Evans
RED OAK, Iowa -- Charles Keith Evans, 69, of Red Oak, Iowa, formerly of Grand Island, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Private family memorial services were held. Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Evans was born June 3, 1929, at Grand Island to Charles and Roberta (Wright) Evans. He was raised and received his education in the Grand Island area.
He married
Jacqueline "Jackie" Churchill on Sept. 17, 1948, at Hastings. They lived in Grand Island until moving to Red Oak in 1950. He was an upholsterer and owned and operated his own business. He later worked in Lincoln at the Hill Aero Company designing and installing custom interiors for corporate aircraft.
He was a regional square dance caller for 20 years and a member of the Elks and Eagles clubs in Red Oak.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rick of Omaha and Ron of Red Oak, Iowa; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Roy Evans of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Roland Diers
Roland William Diers, 78, of Grand Island, formerly of Minnesota, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998, in Grand Island.
Services were Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church at Howard Lake, Minn. The Rev. Joel Swedberg officiated. Burial was in the Howard Lake City Cemetery.
Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home Inc. at Howard Lake, Minn., was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Diers was born Oct. 19, 1920, in Woodland Township, Minn., to Edward and Lyda (Krietlow) Diers. He attended country school in rural Waverly, Minn., for the early grades and finished the 10th grade at Howard Lake High School. He began farming in his early teens when his father died.
He married
Evelyn Christine Anderson on Nov. 8, 1941. They farmed in rural Waverly for years and then went to Lake Havasu City, Ariz., for 10 years to enjoy rock climbing and boating. He worked at the airport and the high school, then moved back to Minnesota to drive tractor and help on farm.
He enjoyed traveling and checking out the crops in the field. He loved to tell stories about being on the high school basketball team that went to the state tournament and dancing.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Zander; seven sons, Gary, Dwayne, and Darrel of Waverly, Minn., Kermit and Michael of Howard Lake, Minn., Rev. Jerome of Princeton, Ill., and Kevin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter, The Rev. Gretchen Diers (Mrs. Doug) Stensby of Grand Island; 22 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lorraine Dysart and Gladys Brandli Newton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; one son, Lyle; and an infant daughter.
