Helen Parker
SHELTON -- Helen E. Parker, 80, of Shelton died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary in Kearney. The Rev. Robert Flynn will officiate. Burial will be at Ansley Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday or prior to services on Wednesday.

Deloris Pohl
AURORA -- Deloris Pohl, 55, of Aurora died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Aurora Cemetery. The Rev. Al Duminy will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Miss Pohl was born Oct. 4, 1942, to Carl and Bernice (Dadey) Pohl in Olpe, Kan. As a child, the family moved to Phillips, where she attended school. Her family moved to Aurora in 1957 and she attended school there. For a short time, she lived in Grand Island. She later moved back to Aurora.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aurora.
Survivors include her son, Terry of Grand Island; two brothers, Donald of North Glenn, Colo., and Gerald of Aurora; two sisters, Carol Kaiser of Grand Island and Connie Larkin of Doniphan, and a special friend, Frank Faris.
She was preceded in death by an infant son; her parents; two brothers, Dennis and Daryl, who died as an infant.
Richard Kaelin
LUBBOCK, Texas -- Richard L. Kaelin, 67, of Lubbock, Texas, formerly of Ansley, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Ansley. The Revs. Richard Wilson and Jerry Ruzicka will officiate. Burial will be in Ansley Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Ilo Antonsen
Ilo M. Antonsen, 90, of Grand Island died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Douglas Stensby will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Messiah Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Antonsen was born Aug. 25, 1907, on the family farm in Hall County to William and Mary (Steinmeier) Niedfelt. She grew up in Grand Island and received her education from District 28.
In 1944, she was owner and operator of the Third City Sand Company.
She married
Christian Antonsen Feb. 1, 1954, in Beatrice. The couple made their home in Grand Island. After the 1980 tornadoes destroyed her home she began spending her summers in Pagosa Springs, Colo.
She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church. She was a former member of Ducks Unlimited, a charter member of Fonner Park, Liederkranz, Naamah Temple No. 108, Daughters of the Nile, Grand Island Saddle Club and the Elks Club in Grand Island. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two sisters, Hattie Peterson of Grand Island and Ida Wake of Sun City, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her husband; six brothers and three sisters.
Raymond Russell
Raymond J. Russell, 93, of Lakeview Rehab/Nursing Center in Grand Island, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Tom Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday with a rosary at 8 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Cathedral.
Mr. Russell was born Feb. 26, 1905, in Abbott to John and Carrie (Sassen) Russell. He grew up in the Abbott area and received his education and graduated from St. Mary's High School.
He married
Dora Matthiesen in June of 1934 in Grand Island.
He farmed near Abbott and worked for 22 years for the Grand Island Fire Department until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, a lifetime member of the Elks and a member of the Platt-Duetsche.
Survivors include two sons, Robert and Richard, both of Grand Island; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Evelyn Herzog of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Leo; and two sisters, Louise Ferguson and Mary Bryson.
Raymond Oliver
SHELTON -- Raymond G. Oliver, 94, Shelton, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Shelton. The Rev. Dr. Charles Spence will officiate. Burial will be in the Shelton Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Shelton Rescue Unit.
O'Brien-Straatmann Funeral Home in Kearney is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Oliver was born June 16, 1904, in Shelton to William and Effie (Barrett) Oliver. He attended school in the Shelton area. He farmed all of his life in rural Shelton.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Robert of Las Vegas, Nev.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald; and two sisters, Grace Oliver and Helen Conroy.
'Bessie' Synowski
FREMONT -- Balbina 'Bessie" Synowski of Fremont, formerly of St. Paul, died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Michael McDermott will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood cemetery in St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. at Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church with a rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
