Adrian Garcia
Adrian Garcia, 20, of Grand Island died Saturday, April 25, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Thomas Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., with a rosary at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Garcia was born on March 7, 1978, at Sahauyo, Mexico. He attended school in California. He moved to Grand Island in 1994 and worked in various jobs.
His hobbies included working with electronics.
Survivors include one son, Adrian Garcia-Rose of Grand Island; his parents, Joaquin and Maria (Sanchez) Garcia of Grand Island; four brothers, Joaquin, Pedro, Alejandro and Victor Garcia, all of Grand Island; two sisters, Margarita and Elizabeth Garcia, both of Grand Island; and his fiance, Amanda Rose of Grand Island.
Jeanie Groelz
Jeanie I. Groelz, 83, of the Grand Island Veterans Home, formerly of Phillips, died Sunday, April 26, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services are pending with Kleine Funeral Home.
Helen Ivey
Aurora -- Helen M. Ivey, 93, of Aurora, formerly of Fullerton, died Monday, April 27, 1998, at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.
Services are pending with Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton.
Charles Bolling
CENTRAL CITY -- Charles B. Bolling, 74, of Central City died Saturday, April 25, 1998, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Central City. The Rev. Nelson Newman will officiate. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. wake service, Tuesday at the church.
Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bolling was born in Central City to Henry W. and Eva M. (McMahon) Bolling. He graduated from Central City High School.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1947.
He married
Margaret B. Killham in 1948. They lived in Madras, Ore., and Winnemucca, Nev., where he worked in the mines. They lived in Casper, Wyo., in the 1950s, and he worked in construction.
They lived in Golden, Colo., in the early 1960s and in Greeley, Colo., from 1964 until the 1970s. Mr. Bolling worked as a self-employed mechanic in Colorado. He also worked as a mechanic in Phoenix from 1976 to 1986.
When his mother's health began to fail, he returned to Central City to help with Bolling Trailer Court. He also worked as a mechanic at Haith Motor until retiring in 1989.
Mr. Bolling was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and yard work.
Survivors include one son, Pat Bolling of LaSalle, Colo.; one stepdaughter, Sharon (Mrs. James) Tate of Denver; three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; five sisters, Catherine Blodgett and Maymie (Mrs. Bob) Flesch, both of Central City, Phyllis (Mrs. Wallace) Hannappel of Cozad, Melissa (Mrs. Vern) Nielson of Phoenix and Carol (Mrs. Jim) Johnson of San Antonio.
He was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Karen Waznick; and one brother, Phillip Bolling.
'Susy' Cunningham
ALBION -- Luella Mae "Susy" Cunningham, 74, of Albion died Saturday, April 25, 1998, at the Boone County Health Center in Albion following a year-long illness with cancer.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion. The Rev. Brian Bergum and intern Annette Minderman will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Cunningham was born on Nov. 18, 1923, at Albion to Kimball and Mary (Berney) Nelson. She was educated in the Albion Public Schools and Albion High School.
She married
Duane Cunningham on July 11, 1942, at Bartlett. They lived in Alamogordo, N.M., while Mr. Cunningham was in the service. Upon his discharge, they returned to Albion, where they lived north of town for a year before moving into town. She was a housewife and dispatched for their trucking business.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Judy (Mrs. Bill) Goshorn of Bondurant, Iowa, and Jane (Mrs. Neil) Olson of Niobrara; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Kim Nelson Jr.
'Babe' Maret
WOOD RIVER -- Alethia "Babe" Maret, 87, of Wood River died Sunday, April 26, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Center in Wood River.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River with the Rev. Larry Nothstine officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery in Gibbon.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Good Samaritan Center.
Mrs. Maret was born on Aug. 20, 1910, at Albion to Frank and Myrtie (Ganzans) Tuffs. She graduated from Wood River High School in 1929.
She married
Frank Maret on March 22, 1931, in Kearney. The couple lived in the Gibbon and Wood River area throughout their marriage. He died on June 3, 1989. She had been a resident at the Good Samaritan Center since November 1996.
She was a member of the Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include three sons, Darrell of Omaha, Kenneth of Grand Island and Robert of Wood River; five daughters, Darleen (Mrs. Ed) Staab of Orange, Calif., Margie (Mrs. Charles) Leonard of Mission Viejo, Calif., Elaine (Mrs. Mike) Batenhorst of Kearney, Nancy (Mrs. Jerome) Packer of Wood River and Ramona (Mrs. Dale) Raile of St. Francis, Kan.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one infant son, Adelbert; three brothers and one sister.
Doris Wieseman
CLARKS -- Doris L. Wieseman, 79, of Clarks died Monday, April 27, 1998, at Aurora Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Kepner-Roberts Funeral Home in Osceola. The Rev. Paul Hofrichter will officiate. Burial will be in the Osceola Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wieseman was born on Aug. 21, 1918, at Osceola to George and Martha (Wright) Bush. She graduated from Polk High School in 1936. She worked for the Hamilton County Telephone Co. from 1936 to 1939.
She married
Glenn Wieseman on March 25, 1939, at Central City. They lived in Illinois from 1939 to 1943, when they moved to a farm in Merrick County. They moved into Clarks in 1983. She worked at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City in the housekeeping department for 22 years.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Dale Wieseman of Grand Island; one daughter, Judy Glasgow of Clarks; six granddaughters; one great-grandson; and two sisters, Velma Randall of Clarks and Irene Schultz of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Hewitt; and one brother, John Edward Bush.
