'Pete' Foxworthy
BASSETT -- Moylan R. 'Pete' Foxworthy, 68, of Bassett died Saturday, April 11, 1998, at Bassett.
Services were on Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Bassett. The Revs. Mary L. Jensen and Virginia Fleharty officiated. Burial was in Bassett Memorial Park Cemetery.
Hoch Funeral Home of Bassett was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials were suggested to the Cancer or Heart Fund.
Mr. Foxworthy was born on Feb. 19, 1930, at Carns to Roy and Etha (Strohm) Foxworthy. He grew up northeast of Bassett on Rock Creek and attended grade school there. He graduated from Rock County High School in 1948 and attended Norfolk Junior College. He then started his ranching career.
He married
Donna E. Rhodes on Oct. 22, 1950, at Stuart. He was a state brand inspector for four years and then sold livestock feed for 4X4 Walnut Grove until retiring in 1991. Unhappy with retirement, he continued in the feed business for Peets' Livestock Feed Co.
He was a member of Elks Lodge 237 of Ord, Silver Cord Lodge 224 A.F. & A.M. of Ainsworth, the United Methodist Church of Chapman and the KBR Harness and Saddle Club.
He was a Boy Scout leader in Scotia, a Greeley County 4-H leader, a volunteer with the Burwell Fire Department and served on the North Loup-Scotia school board. He loved horses and was a team roper, bull rider and pony puller. He participated in many parades with his ponies. He was also an avid raccoon hunter.
Survivors include his wife; three children, Terry and Rick, both of Bassett, and Karen (Mrs. Tom) Smith of Greeley; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Foxworthy.
Rosemary Sautter
MARSHFIELD, Wis. -- Rosemary G. Sautter, 68, of Marshfield, Wis., died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Marshfield.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Mount Hope cemetery in Scotia. The Rev. Jim Warner will officiate.
Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Sautter was born on Sept. 17, 1929, in Lincoln to George and Mame (Curran) Graham.
She married
Dr. Richard D. 'Bud' Sautter on Aug. 4, 1952.
Mrs. Sautter was a volunteer with St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of the Marshfield PEO. She had also served on the Marshfield Board of Education from 1981 to 1987.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Ann Sautter of Madison, Wis.; three sons, Daniel Sautter of Eau Claire, Wis., Michael Sautter of Chili, Wis., and Mark Sautter of Marshfield, Wis.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lynn Marie; and a brother, George Graham.
Alice Wilson
AURORA, Colo. -- Graveside services for Alice Duffy Wilson, 89, of Aurora, Colo., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Central City Cemetery.
The Rev. Nelson Newman will officiate. Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wilson died on Feb. 26, 1998, at Cherry Creek Nursing Home in Aurora, Colo.
Marilyn Carlson
Marilyn F. Carlson, 49, of Grand Island was found dead in her apartment on Monday, April 13, 1998.
Her body was to be cremated, and no services are planned at this time. Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Carlson was born on Sept. 17, 1948, in Los Angeles to Richard P. and Faye A. (Evans) Kelly. Her early years were spent in California. She moved with her parents to Columbus in 1958 and graduated from Columbus High School in 1966.
She worked at various jobs and was most recently employed at the Hall County Courthouse. She went back to school in 1993 and earned her paralegal degree from Central Community College.
She married
Greg Carlson on July 11, 1997.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Matthew Williford; one daughter, Emily Williford; her parents, of Central City; two brothers, Patrick Kelly of Columbus and Richard P. Kelly of Wyoming, Mich.; and one sister, Cathy O. Kelly of Central City.
Paul Howard
Paul W. Howard, 78, of Grand Island died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. Douglas Stensby will officiate. Mr. Howard will be cremated after the services.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Messiah Lutheran Church, the American Diabetes Association or the American Kidney Association.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Carol Howard and Beverly (Mrs. Ron) Logue; three grandsons; one great-grandson; two brothers, Harry Howard of Sioux City, Iowa, and Robert Howard of Dakota City, Iowa; and two sisters, Virginia (Mrs. Llan Nielsen) Dale and June (Mrs. Harold) Lockwood, both of Sioux City, Iowa.
Salvador Munoz
Salvador S. Munoz, 85, of 2807 W. Faidley No. 102 died Tuesday, April 14, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Harry Kurtenbach, Walter Phelan and Jacob Bauer will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Kleine Funeral Home and from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Cathedral with a Scripture wake service at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Munoz was born on Dec. 12, 1912, at Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Pedro and Sixta (Soto) Munoz. He came to the United States as a boy and became a U.S. citizen in 1975.
He married
Juanita Hernandez on Aug. 11, 1940, at Sutherland. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad on a section gang from Nov. 6, 1945, until retiring on Jan. 15, 1976.
They lived in Paxton for two years and then lived in Sutherland until June 26, 1992, when they moved to North Platte. They moved to Grand Island in June 1994 and lived at Chrysalis Lutheran Homes.
He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Robert of Grand Island, Salvador of Sutherland and David of North Platte; four daughters, Sally (Mrs. Robert) Melgoza, Rita (Mrs. James) Martinez and Rose (Mrs. Armando) Perez, all of Grand Island, and Lucy (Mrs. Benito) Sanchez of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 28 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four brothers and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by two grandsons.
Ira Gardner
BROKEN BOW -- Ira Ruben Gardner, 87, of Broken Bow died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow. The Rev. Fred Roedger will officiate. Burial will be in the Kearney Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow or the Jennie Melham Hospital Foundation in Broken Bow.
Mr. Gardner was born on Oct. 9, 1910, at Scotia to George and Iona Rose (Arnold) Gardner. He graduated from Sargent High School in May 1929 and Grand Island School of Business in 1931.
He married
Ruth Thelma Anderson on June 2, 1937, at Kearney. They lived in Lexington, where he worked for Food Center. Mr. Gardner began working for Safeway on April 30, 1941. He was transferred to Broken Bow in 1945 to manage the Safeway Store and worked there until retiring in 1972. Mrs. Gardner died in 1976.
He married
Priscilla Rasmussen on Aug. 14, 1982. They moved to Heritage Hall in Broken Bow in 1995. Mrs. Gardner died on March 7, 1998.
Mr. Gardner served three terms as elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow, was a Master Mason of Broken Bow Masonic Lodge 148 and recently was recognized with a 50-year pin. He was a member of Broken Bow Elks Lodge 1688 for 37 years.
He loved hunting and fishing and was a mountain climber.
Survivors include his daughter, Judith (Mrs. Erwin) Hoffman of Champaign, Ill.; one son, Jerrold Gardner of Mitchell; three grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Axtel of Omaha.
Besides his wives, he was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
