Ronald Pulliam
SARGENT -- Ronald Pulliam, 50, of Sargent died Tuesday, March 31, 1998, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Sargent High School auditorium. The Rev. Jack Rademacher, Mike McDonald and Bernard Berger will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery with military rites by Sargent American Legion Post 104.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7:30 p.m., Friday at Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Clair Nigon
LOYAL, Wis. -- Clair John Nigon, 75, of Loyal, Wis., died Tuesday, March 31, 1998, at St. Joseph's Hospital Hospice Care Unit in Marshfield, Wis.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser and Joseph Follmar will officiate.
Additional services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, Minn. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Thursday at Rinka Funeral Home in Loyal, Wis. Further visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, Minn.
Mr. Nigon was born on Dec. 10, 1922, in Rochester to Frank and Mary (Hanrahan) Nigon. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Eyota High School in Eyota, Minn.
He married
Geraldine Gulstrand on Oct. 6, 1951, in Minneapolis. He farmed near Viola, Minn., worked for the Rochester Turkey Hatchery and at the Guest House in Rochester. They moved to Greenwood, Wis., in 1978, and he farmed until retiring in 1987. During his retirement, Mr. Nigon enjoyed driving the Amish. He had lived in Loyal for 11 years.
Survivors include his wife; eight sons, Richard of St. Paul, Minn., Daryl of Rochester, Minn., Harold of Rudolph, Wis., James and Martin, both of Greenwood, Wis., Raymond of Cottage Grove, Wis., Michael of Hansen and Stephen of Spencer, Wis.; two daughters, Kathryn (Mrs. Paul) Lindner of Rochester, Minn., and Patricia (Mrs. Scott) Brown of New Trier, Minn.; 30 grandchildren; one brother, Edwin Nigon of Rochester, Minn.; and one sister, Lorraine Pries of Byron, Minn.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Sharon Livingston
Sharon Rae Livingston, 53, of 4405 Quail Lane died Monday, March 30, 1998, at her home after a long illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Messiah Lutheran Church. The Rev. Gret-chen Diers will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the Bethphage Mission or the Nebraska Chapter of the Autism Society of America.
Mrs. Livingston was born on March 25, 1945, in Hastings to Forrest J. and Irma E. (Mettenbrink) Pollard. She moved with her family to Grand Island as a young girl. She grew up in Grand Island. She attended Howard Elementary School and Walnut Junior High and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1963. She attended Hastings College.
She married
James Livingston on Aug. 20, 1966, in Grand Island.
She had been co-owner of Sheila and Co., a woman's clothing store.
She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She was a charter member of the Nebraska Chapter of the Autism Society of America and was very involved in helping create services for disabled children and their families.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Barbara Lyn of Grand Island; a son, Jon Francis of Grand Island; a granddaughter; her parents, of Grand Island; one sister, Judy Beckler of Grand Island; and three brothers, Jerry Pollard of Grand Island, Jim Pollard of Denver and Robert Pollard of Omaha
Arlene Pedersen
Arlene M. Pedersen, 63, of 1524 N. Kruse died Monday, March 30, 1998, at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. The Rev. John D. Russell will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. Kleine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
Mrs. Pedersen was born on Oct. 18, 1934, in Dannebrog to Peter C. and Johanna C. (Petersen) Pedersen. She grew up and was educated at Dannebrog and at the Grand Island Business College. She had worked as a secretary for Platte Valley Construction Co. for the past 44 years.
She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, the Eagles Auxiliary and the Grand Island Saddle Club.
Survivors include one son, Billie J. Pedersen of Grand Island; four grandsons; three brothers, Phillip of Helena, Mont., Lyman of Buena Park, Calif., and Byron of Santa Ana, Calif.; and two sisters, Betty Gould of Omaha and Marian (Mrs. John) Bowers of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Christian, Alvin, Gordon and Edgar.
Gary Phifer
Gary Lee Phifer, 54, of Grand Island died Tuesday, March 31, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his parents, John and Blanche Phifer of Loup City; one sister, Marsha (Mrs. Ronald) Akerson of Aurora; and one brother, Gail F. Phifer of St. Petersburg, Fla.
He was preceded in death by one infant brother, Leo Philbert Phifer.
John Weil
John A. Weil, 75, of Grand Island died Tuesday, March 31, 1998, in Grand Island.
Services are pending with Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Ronald Bopp
SPALDING -- Ronald M. Bopp, 65, of Spalding died Tuesday, March 31, 1998, at the Friendship Villa in Spalding.
Services are pending at Dolce Scheef Mortuary in Spalding.
Pearl Luschei
CENTRAL CITY -- Pearl Ruth Luschei, 75, a longtime resident of Central City, died Monday, March 30, 1998, at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Solt Funeral Home in Central City. The Rev. Debra Tompsett-Welch will officiate. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Shell Creek Baptist cemetery near Columbus.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Luschei was born on March 12, 1923, in Columbus to Thomas C. and Martha Dilly Adams. She attended school in Columbus and lived there until 1947, except for about three years when she lived in O'Neill.
She married
Edward Hilmer on Sept. 13, 1939, in Columbus. Mr. Hilmer died on Nov. 6, 1946.
She married
Armin Luschei on March 29, 1947, in Central City. While living in Central City, she worked for Wilder's Cafe, the Night and Day Cafe and Armours Cold Storage and did book work for Rapid Freight Service and for a private sanitation company. Mr. Luschei died on Jan. 4, 1976.
Mrs. Luschei enjoyed canning, baking and yard work.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Marie (Mrs. Melvin) Garrett of Central City and Janet Kay Luschei of Superior; two sons, Thomas Edward Hilmer of Lancaster, Texas, and Marvin Dean Luschei of Central City; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Ethel (Mrs. Fred) Brown, Mary Lou Pennell, JoAnn Parr and Beverly Jean Gredell, all of Central City, and Pat (Mrs. Keith) Leitschuck of Lincoln.
In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Mervin Dale Luschei; and two brothers, Bill and Don Adams.
