Dale Rynearson
ANSLEY -- Dale Laverne Rynearson Sr., 73, of Ansley died Monday, March 30, 1998, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Ansley. The Rev. J. Green will officiate. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Grand Island.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
Memorials are suggested to the Ansley Rescue Unit or the donor's choice.
Mr. Rynearson was born on June 21, 1924, in Grand Island to Harry E. and Jeanette M. (Wagoner) Rynearson. He grew up in the Grand Island area.
He served in the U.S. Army from July 1943 to January 1946.
He married
Irene Eastman on Sept. 24, 1949, in Grand Island. He worked for Fairmont Foods and Brown Fruit of Grand Island as a truck driver. They moved to Ansley in 1961, and he worked for Broken Bow Wholesale. After retiring, he worked at various jobs in Ansley.
He was a member of the Ansley United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Mason City Masonic Lodge 170 and Platt-Duetsche Society.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Stephen of Mason City and Dale Jr. "Bub" of Mason City; four daughters, Gayle (Mrs. Lester) Gray and Cindy (Mrs. Dennis) Steggall, both of Coffeyville, Kan., Shelley (Mrs. Duane) Eberle of Mason City and Kim of Ansley; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose Callihan of Grand Island; and two brothers, John of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Leo of Albuquerque, N.M.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Harry Jr.
Roland Johnson
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. -- Roland V. Johnson, 63, of Commerce City, Colo., formerly of Lexington, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Denver.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. The Rev. Karla Sheffy will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery at Lexington with military honors.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
Mr. Johnson was born on April 28, 1934, at Lathrop, Mo., to Artie and Emma (Walker) Johnson.
He was a Korean War veteran and was a rancher in Colorado at the time of his death.
Survivors include two brothers, Richard Johnson of Commerce City, Colo., and Luther Johnson of Waterloo, Iowa; and three sisters, Ethel Williams and Effie Mae Coley, both of Waterloo, Iowa, and Joy Washington of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Romana Johnson.
Betty Van Raam
SUN CITY WEST, Ariz. -- Betty J. Van Raam, 72, of Sun City West, Ariz., formerly of Grand Island, died March 16, 1998, in Arizona.
Mrs. Van Raam was cremated.
Mrs. Van Raam was born on Dec. 28, 1925, in Grand Island to C.A. and Alma H. Snyder. She attended Lincoln Elementary School, Walnut Junior High and Grand Island Senior High.
She had been in failing health for more than a year.
Survivors include her husband, Rudy Van Raam; and one brother, Clark Snyder of Lawrence, Kan.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Wellman Jr.; one sister, Ora Mae Welsh; and two brothers, Orville and Robert Snyder.
Henry W. Busig
Henry W. Busig, 76, of the Nebraska Veterans Home died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the All Faiths Chapel of the Nebraska Veterans Home. The Rev. Roland Going will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time at the All Faiths Chapel of the Veterans Home.
Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Veterans Home.
Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Busig was born on July 31, 1921, at St. Libory to Henry and Elsie (Burnett) Busig. He attended school in St. Paul. Following his schooling, he worked as a baker at the Ernst Bakery.
He married
Marian C. Sorensen on Jan. 5, 1941.
He entered the U.S. Army in January 1943 and served with the 739th Artillery Battalion in the southern Phillipines. He was honorably discharged in December 1945.
He returned to Grand Island and worked for the Rainbo Bakery. In July 1978, they moved to Laramie, Wyo., where he worked in food service for the University of Wyoming. He retired in 1981 and returned to Grand Island in July 1988.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Rosalind (Mrs. Larry) Linstrom of North Platte and Rhonda (Mrs. Jerry) Anderson of Laramie, Wyo.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Lahners of Shippenville, Pa.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Ernest and Eugene; two sisters, Rosie and Catherine.
Florence Joy
Florence Dora Joy, 66, of 2612 O'Flannagan St., died Sunday, March 29, 1998, at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Gollaher Chapel. The Revs. Jim Keyser and Howard Rasmussen will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Grand Island Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family receiving friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Kleine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mrs. Joy was born March 8, 1932, at Ainsworth to William and Maud L. (Burris) Weber. She graduated from Logan County High School. She lived on her parents' ranch in Cherry County.
She married
Alvin Dean Joy on April 6, 1950, at Grady. They lived in Lincoln, Norfolk and Columbus before settling in Grand Island in 1963. She worked at the Drapery Den and then Home Care Companions. She made custom drapery for many years.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women's Group and the All For Fun Square Dance Club.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Melvin Joy of Lincoln; two daughters, LaVonne (Mrs. John) Obirst of Fresno, Calif., Sharon (Mrs. Roy) Page of Chantilly, Va.; three grandchildren; three brothers, Roy Weber of Shelton, Mo., Lawrence Weber of Fontana, Calif., and Chester Weber of Lincoln; two sisters, Myrle Lewis of Lincoln and twin Flora (Mrs. Leslie) Snow of Montgomery, Ala.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Paul, and her parents.
Bessie Roby
Bessie M. Roby, 76, of Grand Island, died Sunday, March 29, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services are pending with Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
David Williams
David D. Williams Sr., 47, of 2503 E. Seedling Mile Road, died Saturday, March 28, 1998, at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home in Grand Island. The Elder George Whitehead will officiate. Burial will be in the Alda Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Mr. Williams was born June 7, 1950, to Rex and Dorene (Gilbert) Williams at Grand Island. He was raised in Grand Island, receiving his education at Lincoln Elementary and Grand Island Senior High.
He entered the U.S. Army on March 10, 1970, serving in combat during the Vietnam War in the 25th Infantry Division.
He married
Deb Graus on Sept. 2, 1972.
He married
Jeanne Leavitt on Oct. 21, 1989, at Grand Island.
Mr. Williams was a member of the V.F.W. Club.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David Williams Jr. of Grand Island; a daughter, Jennifer Williams of Grand Island; three stepsons, Cade Olbricht of Lincoln, Josh Olbricht of Grand Island and Pvt. Jared Olbricht of Camp Pendleton, Calif.; twin grandsons; his mother, Dorene Williams of Grand Island; three brothers, Jerry Williams of Grand Island, Rodney Williams of Marquette, Tuffy Williams of Grand Island; and a sister, Patty Tran of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rex Williams.
