Kenneth Niemoth
Kenneth E. Niemoth, 61, of Grand Island died Friday, March 6, 1998, at the St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Robert Harms will officiate. A family prayer service will be at 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the church or donor's choice.
Mr. Niemoth was born Jan. 18, 1937, to Fredrich and Sophia (Johnson) Niemoth in Grand Island. He grew up and attended school in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High in 1955.
After his graduation, he farmed with his father on the family farm.
He married
Lois L. Schinkel on June 19, 1966, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island. The couple lived on the family farm north of Grand Island.
Mr. Niemoth was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed horses and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Lori (Mrs. Steve) Peters of Wood River and Krisha Niemoth of Grand Island; and one son, Kraig Niemoth of Kearney.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Kenneth Condell
PALMER -- Kenneth Condell, 60, of Palmer died Saturday, March 7, 1998, at his home.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peters and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Mike McDermott will officiate. Burial will be in the Rose Hill cemetery at Palmer.
Palmer's Funeral Home of Palmer is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Condell was born Sept. 4, 1937, in Palmer to Tom and Esther (Scarborough) Condell. He grew up in Palmer and attended District 31 school. He graduated from Palmer High School in 1955.
He then attended airline school in Kansas City. He worked for Delta and United Airlines as a customer service agent at Chicago O'Hare Airport until 1981. He worked at the Lincoln airport until his retirement in 1992.
Mr. Condell married
Shirley Slaughter on Sept. 25, 1960, in West Lafayette, Ohio.
Following his retirement, the couple returned to Palmer, where they owned and operated the Country Package Store for five years.
He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Darren of Dewey, Ariz., and Shawn of Windsor, Colo.; one daughter, Kelly (Mrs. Keith) Wichmann of Palmer; his parents of Palmer; one brother, Dean of Des Plaines, Ill., and a twin sister, Carolyn (Mrs. Arthur) Davis of Palmer; and three grandchildren.
Lora Rasmussen
ALBION -- Lora Belle Rasmussen, 64, of Albion died Saturday, March 7, 1998, at her home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion. The Rev. Brian Bergum and Annette Minderman, intern, will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery in Albion.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion.
Mrs. Rasmussen was born Oct. 1, 1933, in Wakefield to Edward and LeVerne (Simonson) Herfel. She attended elementary school in Allen and Boone County Districts No. 32 and 9. She attended Albion High School.
She married
Arthur "Art" V. Rasmussen on March 22, 1950, in Fairbury. They lived and farmed in Boone County until moving into Albion in 1971.
Mr. Rasmussen died on Aug. 30, 1988.
Mrs. Rasmussen was a housewife, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church since 1953. She taught Sunday school and Junior Lutherans and served on various committees.
Survivors include two sons, Larry and Brian, both of Albion; one sister, Ferne Barr of Santa Clara, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Carl Herfel.
Robert Spencer
Robert Spencer, 76, of Gibbon died Sunday, March 8, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services are pending with Godberson Mortuary of Gibbon-Shelton in charge of arrangements.
Marian Clinch
Marian E. Clinch, 74, of Grand Island died Saturday, March 7, 1998, at St. Francis Skilled Care in Grand Island.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with the Rev. Martin Egging officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Grand Island.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., with a vigil and rosary at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be to the American Cancer Society or donor's choice.
Marian E. Clinch was born Sept. 16, 1923 to Otto and Jessie (Day) Reiners at Sidney. She grew up and attended school in Broadwater and graduated from Broadwater High School in 1941. After graduation, she taught rural school in the Broadwater area.
She married
James Williams in 1946. In 1962, she married
Thomas Clinch.
She later made her home in Grand Island, where she worked for the Hall County Jail as a matron. She retired from Delicious Foods.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was very active in Alanon and Alateen.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Williams of Grand Island and Robert Williams of Belle Plaine, Kan.; three daughters, Carol Owens of Seattle, Wash., Barbara Harrod of Wichita, Kan., and Theresa Smith of Edgerton; Kan.; three sisters, Margaret Kessler of Wichita, Gladys Berry of Bridgeport and Jessie Wilson of St. Edward; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Otto "Pete."
Dr. 'Hal' Janzen
Dr. Harold "Hal" Janzen, 78, of 4327 Cambridge Road died Thursday, March 5, 1998, at the St. Francis Skilled Care Center.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Kleine Funeral Home, with the Rev. Denton R. Jantzi officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at the Memorial cemetery in Fremont.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Dr. Janzen was born Sept. 20, 1919, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Rudolph and Florence (Ely) Janzen. As a young child, he moved to Kansas City, Mo. He graduated from Paseo High School in 1938. He graduated from the Findley Engineering College in Kansas City, Mo.
He served in the Army Air Corps at the Battle of the Bulge in World War II, and he also served in the Korean War for 10 years in the Army Air Corps.
He married
Darline R. Sprick on May 15, 1970, in Lincoln.
He graduated from the University of Nebraska Dental College in 1960 and practiced for 23 years in Grand Island, first at the Hedde Building and later building the dental office at 1909 W. Faidley.
He served as a volunteer dentist in Belize, Central America, for a short time. He was an artist and also enjoyed stain glass and jewelry making. He loved to travel and was a member of the Rock and Gem Club, the Masonic Lodge and the Air Stream Camping Group.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Peggy Holtorf of Grand Island; one granddaughter; one brother, Robert Janzen of Kansas City, Mo.; and one sister, Sue Dagby of Springfield, Mo.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walt and Rudy.
