Wilbur Kutschkau, 82, of Grand Island died at his home Saturday, March 7, 1998.
Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Kenneth Niemoth
Kenneth E. Niemoth, 61, of Grand Island died Friday, March 6, 1998, at the St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Robert Harms will officiate. A family prayer service will be at 10:45 a.m. Burial will be at the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.
Kenneth Condell
PALMER -- Kenneth Condell, 60, of Palmer died Saturday, March 7, 1998, at his home.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peters and Paul Catholic Church at St. Paul. The Rev. Mike McDermott will be officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery at Palmer.
There will be no visitation. Palmer's Funeral Home in Palmer is in charge of arrangements.
Margaurete Fauquet
BROKEN BOW -- Margaurete Fauquet, 89, of Broken Bow died Saturday, March 7, 1998, at the Jennie Melham Hospital in Broken bow.
Service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Broken Bow, with the Revs. Charles Gregory and Ron Kowalski officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the First Baptist Church of Broken Bow.

Mrs. Fauquet was born July 30, 1908, to Floyd and Rubie (Baker) Holcomb on a farm northeast of Broken Bow. She attended school in the Bethel Union community and in Broken Bow. She graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1926. She then attended Kearney State Teachers College for two years, where she received her teacher's certificate.
She taught rural schools near Broken Bow and Mason City School. She then was assistant county school superintendent under Gerald Thurman.
She was married
to J. Roy Fauquet on March 24, 1940, and they lived on a farm southwest of Mason City. In 1947, they moved to Broken Bow.
She was active in the First Baptist Church, serving as president of Nebraska Baptist Women and president of the Baptist state convention, and also serving a term on the national board.
She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Bette Fauquet of Kansas City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by four brothers.
William Gilliland
ST. PAUL -- William Gilliland, 72, of St. Paul died Friday, March 6, 1998, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lincoln.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Rev. Rosalie Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood cemetery in St. Paul, with military rites by the Carl Mogensen American Legion Post No. 119 of St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Howard County Historical Society.
Mr. Gilliland was born Dec. 28, 1925, in St. Paul to Floyd and Ruth (Westcott) Gilliland. He grew up and attended school in St. Paul and Octavia.
He entered the U.S. Army on Aug. 25, 1944, where he served in the 42nd Rainbow Division. He was discharged on Oct. 6, 1945.
After his discharge, he attended the Grand Island Business School.
He married
Elaine Andersen in 1946 in Smith Center, Kan.
Mr. Gilliland worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant in Grand Island and also drove gas trucks for Farmers Union Coop and Clayton Petersen.
In the late 1950s, he had a TV repair business in Ansley. For 17 years, he drove a truck for the state of Nebraska, retiring in 1985.
Mr. Gilliland married
Annette Keen on April 6, 1974, in St. Paul.
He played in a polka band for 17 years. He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and fishing.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. He was a past member of the American Legion Post and VFW of St. Paul, and the DAV of Grand Island.
Survivors include his wife; one son Leroy of St. Paul; two daughters, Colleen Runge and Beverly (Mrs. John) Farlee, both of Grand Island; five stepsons, Jon Keen of Hastings, Jaye Keen of Lafayette, Colo., Jeff Keen of St. Paul, Christopher Keen of Lincoln and Jan Keen of Cincinnati; one stepdaughter, Dawn Wiseman of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; one brother, Lester of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two sisters, Marjorie Holley of St. Paul and Irene Fredricksen of Stromsburg; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ricky.
Lara Rasmussen
ALBION -- Lara B. Rasmussen, 64, of Albion died Saturday, March 7, 1998, at her home.
Funeral services are pending with Levander Funeral Home in Albion.
Gilbert Skow
GIBBON -- Gilbert M. Skow, 88, of Gibbon died Friday, March 6, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Faith United Church in Gibbon, with the Rev. Mark W. Cadenbach officiating. Burial will be in the Gibbon Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Godberson Mortuary in Gibbon.
Memorials are suggested to the church or the Gibbon Emergency Unit.
Mr. Skow was born May 12, 1909, in Clarks to Rasmus Winter Soren and Bessie A. (Danhauer) Skow. He grew up in that area, attending rural schools and Central City High School.
He married
Ada Mae Campbell on March 26, 1929, in Aurora. They farmed on the family farm.
After three years, they moved to Central City, where he worked for the Hesselgesser and Myer gas station and also for Merrick County, doing road work. He later worked at the Grand Island Ordnance Plant and then the Kearney Air Base.
The couple moved to Gibbon in 1942 and he worked for Peter Kiewit at a repair depot in Grand Island. In 1950, he bought a filling station in Gibbon, which became the Conoco Station, and ran it for 24 years.
He retired from the station in 1974 and ran the family farm until selling it in 1990. He moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Gibbon in 1997 due to ill health. He was a member of the Gibbon Faith United Church.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Dale of Grand Island; one daughter, Eileen Mayfield of Gibbon; one sister, Gladys Larson of North Platte; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Lorance Smith
SHELTON -- Lorance E. Smith, 95, of Shelton died Saturday, March 7, 1998, at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Grand Island.
Funeral arrangements are pending with the Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River.
Leola Hansen
Leola "Gayle" Hansen, 77, of Grand Island, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa, died Friday, March 6, 1998, at St. Francis Memorial Health Center.
Mrs. Hansen was cremated. Memorial services will be at a later date in Grand Island. Burial will be in Sioux City Memorial Park in Iowa.
There will be no visitation. Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Hansen was born on Nov. 3, 1920, at Gregory, S.D., to Maurice and Olive (Moore) Horton. She grew up and was educated in Sioux City, Iowa, and graduated from Central High School in Sioux City in 1938. She also graduated from Edwards Business Institute at Sioux City.
She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. H.P. White for more than 30 years and later worked for Dr. Crarey. She retired in 1967.
She married
Harry O. Hansen on Nov. 18, 1959, at Sioux City, and they lived in Sioux City. She was a certified dental assistant and served as president of the Iowa State Dental Assistants.
Mr. Hansen died in 1968, and Mrs. Hansen moved to Grand Island in 1971.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge, which she served as past noble grand.
Survivors include one sister, Donna Van DeMark of Grand Island.
