FORT COLLINS, Colo. - William James Koester, 75, died April 12, 2015, at Center Rehabilitation.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Trinity Lutheran Church at Fort Collins.
Jackie L. Whitehead, 67
Died: Monday, August 20, 2012, in Des Moines, Iowa
Jack was born in Osceola, IA on September 28, 1944. Jack grew up on the family farm near Osceola. He graduated from Iowa State University. He served for four years in the United States Army, including two years in Vietnam. Jack spent the majority of his working career at Hoegemeyer Hybrids as a farm manager. Jack enjoyed time with his four grandchildren. In Jack's lifetime he enjoyed softball, bowling, flying airplanes, listening to music, playing banjo, traveling on the road as a trucker, and family gatherings.
Jack is survived by his two daughters, Robin (husband Russ Johnson) Whitehead of Omaha, Nebraska and Rhonda (husband Eric) Bostrom of Lincoln, Nebraska, special friend, Freda Owens, brothers: John LeRoy Whitehead, Evert Whitehead, Duane Whitehead, and sister: Loretta Hoffman.
Preceded in death by brothers Dean Whitehead and Gilbert Walters, and parents.
Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont will be Thursday from 5pm to 8pm. Private graveside service will be Friday at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, with Military Honors by the Fremont Honor Guard.

Kenny R. Stark, 43
Kenny R. Stark, 43, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at his home in Alliance.
He was born on March 22, 1972, at Grand Island to Dennis R. and Barbara L. (Huber) Stark.
Kenny was well known for his big heart (and mouth) and was loved by so many. To know Kenny was to love Kenny. His contagious laugh, bright smile and charismatic personality will be dearly missed. His sudden departure broke the chain in our family, but we know that someday we will be together again and the chain will link once more. Until then, soar Kenny and watch over us.
He is survived by his daughter, Madison Stark of Alliance, his mother and step-father, Bunny and Mark Saum of Casa Grande, Ariz., his brothers and sisters, Shawn (Natalie) Miller of Alliance, Lisa (David) Lott of Olympia, Wash., Rod Stark of Knoxville, Tenn., Kelly (Ryan) Libsack, Tracy (Claudia) Stark and Denny (Brandy) Stark all of Alliance, Jennifer (Saum) (Jeff) Vogel of Gainesville, Fla. and Jimmy (Rana) Saum of Seward. He is also survived by his grandmother, Ina Huber of Alliance and by nephews and nieces, Nick, Tommy and Dillon Miller, Fort Collins, Summer, Nicole and Brooke Stark, Knoxville, Sage Macke and Faith Stackenwalt, Alliance, Ashley Sundeen, Brocket, and Corbin and Bailey Stark, Alliance, Banyn, Cormic and Jepsen Stark, Alliance, Kaden Saum, Seward, Layne and Emerie Vogel, Gainesville, Kaylee and Rhianna Lott, Olympia.
He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, William and Opal Saum, Estelle Huber, his cousin, Andee Huber and his uncles, Gordon Stark and Gary Huber.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the Alliance Berean Church with Greg Carter officiating. As a family we are requesting that any avid golfers please wear your golfer attire. We know Kenny would’ve loved that. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.
A memorial for his daughter’s education fund has been established with Consumers Cooperative Federal Credit Union in the name of Madison Stark, 217 Toluca, Alliance, NE.

Evelyn M. Martin, 67
Died: Saturday, August 18, 2012, in Fremont
Evelyn was born April 30, 1945 in Horton Kansas to Mitchell and Betty (Taylor) Eyer. As a child, she moved with her family and lived in several different communities including Horton, Kansas; Fairbury, Nebraska and to Fremont in 1958.
On April 5, 1965, Evelyn was married to Randall Martin and Fremont has been their home. For several years she operated an in home day care, then worked for the Fremont Tribune in the mail department, and she retired as a greeter for Wal-Mart.

Evelyn was preceded in death by a granddaughter and her parents.
The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday (August 22, 2012) in the Fremont Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Tom Shaw. The committal follow in Ridge Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be on Tuesday from 2 to 8 PM, with the family present from 6 to 8 PM. Visitation will continue at the church Wednesday morning for an hour before the service.
Nicholas Berg, 84
ALLIANCE - Nicholas Joseph “Nick” Berg, 84, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, at Good Samaritan Health Care Center.
Nick was born on Aug. 2, 1931, at Sanborn, Minn., to Fred and Anna (Soukup) Berg. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in February 1952 and was honorably discharged in February 1954.
He met the love of his life, Marge Jankord in Watertown, S.D., and they were married on Nov. 12, 1955. They would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this year.
Nick was in the lumber business, which brought him to Rapid City, S.D., and later to Wall, S.D., where he retired. Nick and Marge then moved to Alliance, to manage Berg’s Jewelry and do the accounting for Taco John’s of Alliance and Chadron.
Nick enjoyed Toast Masters, one act plays, church choirs, fishing and sporting events and his beloved Minnesota Vikings, but most of all he loved visiting with family and friends.
His survivors include his wife; sons Dennis (Lori) Berg of Rapid City, Dale (Susan) Berg of Deadwood, S.D., and Don (Dorothy) Berg of Alliance; daughter Dawn Shull of Rapid City; 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by his sisters Vikki Scarbrough and Lucille Lewey, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, five sisters and great-grandson Noel Shull.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at the Bates-Gould Chapel, with Fr. John Kakkuzhiyil officiating.
A reception will follow the service in the Lyceum at Ninth and Big Horn.
Burial will be at a later date at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, S.D.
In lieu of flowers, memorials be given to Prairie Haven Hospice, 1118 Flack Ave., Alliance, NE 69301.

Jerry L. Clark, 69
Died: Wednesday, August 15, 2012, in Fremont
Jerry L. Clark, age 69 of Fremont,
died in his home Wednesday evening, August 15, 2012, after a long battle with cancer.
Jerry was born in Fremont on February 11, 1943 to Wilbur and Mildred (Potter) Clark. For many of his adult years he was a long haul truck driver and mechanic. He was a member of the Elkhorn Valley Rifle Club.
He is survived by his former wife Jackie Clark, sons Sean and wife Shirley Clark of Cedar Bluffs and Michael Clark of Fremont, and 5 grandchildren and brother Larry and wife Deanna Clark of Fremont. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter and a great grandson.

Erma Kirkendall, 73
ALLIANCE - Erma Dean Kirkendall, 73, died Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at her home in Alliance.
Dean was born on Aug. 20, 1941, in Gatesville, Texas, to Ernest and Lillian Myrtle (Griffin) Herrington.
On Feb. 4, 1964, she was united in marriage to Ted W. Kirkendall.
She is survived by her husband, her children, James Kirkendall of Crowley, Colo., Frank (Debi) Kirkendall of Mosca, Colo., and Carla Heckman of Alliance, her grandchildren, Dustin (Tabatha) Kirkendall, Nicole Carragher, Kameron (Austin) Gray, Jordan Heckman and Jeffery Heckman, her great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Alyssa, Olivia, Isabella and Sayde. She is also survived by her brothers and sister, John Herrington of Maysville, Okla., George (Mary) Kirkendall of Roswell, NM, Viola Foster of Phoenix, Ariz., Wayne (Nel) Herrington of Encino, NM and Joseph Herrington of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Charlie Herrington and Jimmy Douglas Herrington and her twin sister, Emma Jean Hooser
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Rowe officiating. Burial will be in the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery.

Died: Tuesday, August 14, 2012, in Fremont. Lucille Krusemark, 100, of Fremont, previously of Worthington, Minnesota, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Nye Legacy.
Survivors include daughter Kay (John) Schuller of Naperville, IL and three granddaughters. Daughter Janice (Dan) Wolfe of Fremont, NE and granddaughters Jennifer (Aaron) Bush of Gretna, NE and Leah (Eric) Bond of Omaha, NE and several great- grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Worthington, MN, with Rev. Gordon J. Orde officiating. Burial will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 17, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
