ALLIANCE - Marguriete H. Razo, 85, passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at her home in Alliance.
She was born Nov. 17, 1929, to Benjamin and Elizabeth (Hublitz) Freeman in their family home in Alliance.
On May 29, 1948, she married the love of her life, Jake Razo. They spent 67 wonderful years as best friends. In addition to their home in Alliance, she enjoyed spending time at their lake home in Lemoyne. She loved fishing, gardening, caring for her roses, and especially spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Jake Razo of Alliance; her children, Linda Coupens and Dan (Cathy) Razo, both of Alliance; and her sister, Judy (Pete) Taylor of Alliance. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Justin (Shauna) Coupens of Chadron, Kendra (Grant) Nekoranec of Fort Collins, Colo., Ashley Coupens of Alliance, Stacey (Dennis) Hegemann of Prescott, Wis., Amy (Kenny) Pohlman of Ogallala, Tyson (Megan) Razo of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Tiffany (Ethan) Mehne of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and her great-grandchildren, Jacie and Keegan Coupens of Chadron, Camden Jeffries of Fort Collins, Dalton and Jakob Hegemann of Prescott, Savannah Pohlman of Ogallala, Sebastian and Olivia Razo of Cheyenne, and Mya Mehne of Cheyenne.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Rosemary Smith.
There will be a celebration of her life at a later date.

Margaret Ann "Peggy" McKinley, 78
Died: Saturday, November 15, 2008, in Arizona
Margaret Ann "Peggy" McKinley passed into heaven at age 78 on November 15, 2008, at home in Safford, AZ after a long illness.
Margaret was Born on a farm in Nebraska March 7, 1930 she settled in Albuquerque, NM and married W.C. "Chuck" McKinley, her surviving, loving and devoted husband of 61 years. Peggy was a community leader, a very special mother to surviving sons Robert and Scott, and grandmother to surviving grandchildren Laura Kirkbride and Lloyd McKinley, and proud of her great-granddaughter Tatum Margaret McKinley. Peggy is also survived by devoted sisters Patricia Mallory and Shirley Woods of Albuquerque, NM, as well as loving in-laws, and other family in Nebraska, and other states. She is still greatly loved and heart-breakingly missed. Donations in her memory may be made to the Mt. Graham Safe House, 1-888-269-9104.
Graveside services will be held on Friday November 21 at 3pm at Greenmound Cemetery in Saunders County.
Cleora Schwaderer, 96
ALLIANCE - Cleora Wauneta Schwaderer, 96, passed away Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at the Chimney Rock Villa Nursing Home in Bayard, Nebraska.
Cleora was born on June 27, 1919, in Guide Rock, Nebraska, to Jesse Millard and Esther Elizabeth (Guy) Kirkpatrick. She graduated from High School in Inavale, Nebraska and then moved to Box Butte County with her family in the 1930s. She attended college at Chadron State and went on to teach in rural schools around Alliance and Box Butte County. She was a “by the books teacher” but was also friendly and quirky with a great sense of humor. She loved her animals and was a good friend to all who knew her.
On Dec. 24, 1945, Cleora married George Naeve in Oshkosh, Nebraska. George was killed in a fall from a well drilling rig in 1949. She married Arthur “Shorty” Schwaderer on Dec. 14, 1958, in Alliance. They moved to Bayard in 1986 where Art passed away in 1988.
She is survived by her step-children, Jerry (Isabel) Schwaderer of Colorado, Dorothy Schwaderer, daughter-in-law, Paula Fritzler of Torrington, Wyo.; step-grandchildren, J.B., Jackie, Stephanie, Jennifer, Austin and Dart. She is also survived by her sisters, Selma Vasa, Treva Mercer, both of Alliance; nieces and nephews, Sam and Kent Kirkpatrick, Lynne Sward, Don Thomas, Raylene Carlin, Brenda Gray, Kirk Cross, and Jim Daughtery.
She was preceded by her parents, both husbands, brothers Daryl and Glade Kirkpatrick, her sister Guyla Thomas and stepson Dave Schwaderer.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at the Bates-Gould Chapel. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.

Valenda Poppe, 85
Died: Monday, November 24, 2008, in Fremont Area Medical Center
Valenda was born July 22, 1923 on the family farm northeast of Scribner to George and Martha 'Hilbers' Tonjes. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church north of Hooper. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Scribner High School in May of 1940. After graduation she continued to work for her parents on the farm and also worked for her neighbors for a couple of years. She then worked for Peterson Drug Store.
Valenda married Donald Poppe on June 1, 1947 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. After their marriage the couple moved to a farm south of Scribner. They then moved to Valenda's parent's farm in 1962 and farmed together there until moving into Scribner in 1992.
Valenda was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. At St. Paul's she taught Sunday school and was Sunday School Secretary. She was a member of St. Paul's WELCA and sewed many quilts for the church to be donated.

The funeral will be on Saturday at 10:30 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church north of Hooper. Vicar Judy Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Paul's' Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 3pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6:30pm to 8pm at Ludvigsen Scribner Funeral Chapel.
Sharon Miller, 72
CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Sharon Ann Miller, 72, of Cheyenne, died on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, in Cheyenne.
She was born on May 2, 1943, the seventh child, to Edward and Lacy (Boyer) Tschacher.
Sharon graduated from St. Agnes Academy in Alliance, Nebraska in 1961. She worked at Fox Theatre in high school, and after graduation she worked for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee. After a number of years as a stay at home mom, she went back to work, first at LaBelle’s, then American Greeting, Stage, Dillard’s, and Joslins. She then acquired her favorite job, being grandmother to her three grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her husband, John Miller, whom she married on Dec. 30, 1961, in Alliance; a son, Lee E. (Pat) Miller; a daughter, Jill E. (Robert) Morrison; two brothers, Gary and Robert Tschacher; three sisters, Alice Gerdes, Margie Brost, and Mary Jo Rotter; and three grandchildren, Andrew E. Miller, and Rachael Lynn and Dillon Reid Morrison.
Vigil for the Deceased will be 6 p.m. Monday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Funeral Liturgy will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Intement will be in Olivet Cemetery.
Lucian R. Fuhrmeister, 96
Died: Tuesday, November 25, 2008, in at home
Lucian was born in Peabody, Kansas on August 22, 1912 to George and Elizabeth (Aussaker) Fuhrmeister. He came to Fremont with his family when he was 8 years of age. He graduated from Fremont High School, then graduated from Midland Lutheran College in 1937. He received his master's degree from Omaha University (now the University of Nebraska at Omaha) in 1951. He did his doctoral work at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. During his years at Midland, he was a member of the football team.
He taught and coached in many schools. He taught in South Dakota, Iowa, and Illinois. In Nebraska he was a high school principal, and was superintendent in Ralston and Uehling. Among other Nebraska schools that he was associated with were schools in Craig, Oakland, Herman, Humphrey, Weston, and Valley. Lucian became Dodge County Superintendent of Schools in 1979.
In July of 1936, Lucian was married to Ranatta Rasmussen.

Leslie A. Walters, 62
HEMINGFORD - Leslie Alan Walters, 62, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015.
Les was born Dec. 19, 1952, to Florence (Nyquist) and Jerry Walters.
He graduated from Hemingford High School in 1971, married Chris Warren and enlisted in the Navy. While stationed in San Diego, Calif., their first child was born. After completing his enlistment in 1977, Les and family returned home to Hemingford where he started Walters Repair Service while raising livestock and farming. Three children were born to this union.
He is survived by his partner Lynn Covalt; children Tanya Betancourt, Alisa (Chad) Jones and Travis (Amber) Walters of Sioux City, Iowa; grandchildren Alexandra Allen of Lincoln, Effrain Betancourt of Clermont, Fla., and Samantha Allen, Tasha Franco, and Alanna and Connor Walters of Sioux City.
He also is survived by his parents; sister Lenni (Tim) Johnson, nieces Brook Raschke (Brian Johnson) of Hemingford, and Sara Johnson (Joe Peneton) of Arvada, Colo.; aunt Karol Nyquist of Scottsbluff; and several cousins.
Les was preceded in death by his grandparents Aron and Wilma Nyquist, Frank and May Walters, and aunts and uncles.
