Kitty was born January 16, 1919 in Crawford, Nebraska to Arthur and Margaret 'Chase' Johnson. She grew up in Fillmore County, attended Thayer Fillmore County schools and graduated from Ohiawa High School in Ohiawa, NE. in 1937. Kitty moved to Lincoln after graduation. 'Kitty' Irmgard Bruning met Edward Christensen and was married on March 20, 1953 at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Lincoln. Kitty was baptized as an adult at the same church. They lived in Lincoln one year while her husband attended the University of Nebraska. Later they moved to Kimball for one year, then moved to a farm southwest of Hooper that belonged to Ed's uncle, Albert Nielsen and farmed till their retirement 1983 and moved into Hooper. Kitty lived in Fremont briefly until moving into the Hooper Care Center in April of 2000. Kitty was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Hooper and the United Methodist Women.

The funeral will be 10:30am Thursday January 8, 2009 at Faith United Methodist Church in Hooper. The Rev. Susan Sanders will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials are suggested to Faith United Methodist Church. Visitation will be in Hooper at Ludvigsen's Hooper Funeral Chapel on Wednesday from 3pm to 8pm with family receiving friends from 6pm to 7:30pm .
Jerry Colerick, 76
SCOTTSBLUFF - Gerald Jerry Colerick, 76, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Golden Living Center, after a short illness with his family by his side.
Gerald was born May 19, 1939, to Ben and Irene (Kaiser) Colerick at Alliance.
He married his wife Louise July 21, 1973, at Carson City, Nev.
He was very dedicated to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; sister Karen Cody; sons Steve (Cheryl) Colerick, Jeffrey (Rosemary) Colerick and Patrick (Vicki) Colerick.
He also is survived by his niece Cheryl Sluraski and her children Megan and Nathan; and his second family Gwenn (Scott) Correll-LeVally, Debi (Vance) Fitts, Randy Roebuck and Connie (Bill) Bruhn.
Preceding him in death are his two infant sons, parents and brother-in-law Punk Cody.
His memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at The Rock Church at Scottsbluff, with Pastor Tyson Lambertson officiating.
Cremation was held.
Memorials may be given to the family to be designated at a later date.
Gering Memorial Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
Durward B. "Bud" Martin, 90
Died: Thursday, January 01, 2009, in Fremont
Bud was born May 31, 1918 at Rosalie, Nebraska and grew up in the Rosalie, Walthill, Decatur, and Lyons area. His parents were Blake and Ruby (Underwood) Martin.
He worked in northwest Iowa for several years as a farmhand. Later, he worked for the State Highway Dept. out of Lyons, NE. He also worked, as did his wife, at the Mead Ordnance Plant, driving back and forth from his home in Lyons.
On May 14, 1939, he was married to Doris Lyght in Walthill. They lived in Decatur, in Arelia, Iowa, in Wyoming, and in Lyons, before moving to Fremont in 1955. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Vrana Construction and also for Hawkins Construction in Omaha. After retiring, he worked as the custodian for the Trinity Lutheran School.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris in February of 1995, a son Marvin, a grandchild, and 2 brothers Kenton & Leslie.

The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday (January 7th, 2009) in the Church of the Nazarene (Military & Johnson Rds, Fremont) with the Rev. Tom Shaw officiating. The committal will follow in Ridge Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be on Tuesday (Jan. 6th) from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 PM. Visitation at the church Wednesday morning will be for an hour before the service.
Steven Hebbert, 51
HYANNIS - Steven Roger Hebbert, 51, died Friday, May 15, 2015, north of Hyannis.
He was born in Alliance on Oct. 24, 1963, to Albert Roger and Glenda Bertha (Bennett) Hebbert. He grew up in the Nebraska Sandhills and worked in his youth with his dad in the Hebbert Well Drilling. He graduated from Garden County High School in 1982.
He started his rodeo career in high school riding saddle broncs. He rode for over 25 years getting on his last bronc on the 4th of July 2002. Wherever he went, whatever job he had, he was always riding colts for others as he had a great reputation as a horseman and trainer. You can go to his corral today and find three horses that he is breaking or just putting miles on for someone else.
Following high school he attended Casper Community College. He worked for several years as a camp and hunting guide in the Cody, Wyo., area and then later in feedlots and as brand inspector for the Brand Committee.
He married Sara Kettle in July 1995 at West Cliff, Colo. They would later divorce.
In 2001 he moved to Harrison, where he worked in ranching. He married Kelly J. Butler on Oct. 27, 2004, at Scottsbluff. He would then move to Tennessee where he managed and operated an elk and buffalo ranch for six years before returning to Nebraska to work in ranching.
He is survived by his wife; children Calvin Robinson of Phoenix, Ariz., Casey (Danielle) McKenzie of Afton, Wyo., and Chelsie McKenzie of Scottsbluff; and grandson Adam Peterson.
He also is survived by his father and stepmother A. Roger and Bonnie Hebbert of Laporte, Colo.; sister Lisa (Tracy) Spencer of Dixon, S.D.; brother Shawn (Cindy) Hebbert of Hyannis; nieces and nephews Brady Hebbert, Mark (Danielle) Hebbert, Scott Hebbert, Taylor (Nicole) Spencer, Drew Spencer and Kaitlin (Josh) Redden; great-nephews Kellen and Kiefer Hebbert; mother-in-law Jeannie Butler of Camp Verde, Ariz.; sisters-in-law Robbin Butler of Eldon, Mo., and Vicki (Dale) McLaughlin of Peyton, Colo.; brother-in-law Larry Butler of Camp Verde; and by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Steven was preceded in death by his mother, an infant sister, and grandparents Albert and Ima Hebbert, Lyle Bennett and Beulah Imhoff.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 21, in the Hyannis High School Auditorium.
Memorials may be given to the Steven Hebbert Memorial, in care of Shawn Hebbert, P.O. Box 290, Hyannis, NE 69350; or to the Sandhills Fire and Rescue, Hyannis.

Mary Berniece Boyle, 72
Died: Tuesday, December 30, 2008, in Scribner
Berniece was born October 1, 1936 in Wallace County, Kansas to Alex and Mary 'Urban' Basgall. She was baptized at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Wallace Kansas on October 4, 1936 by Father Rodger Schmidt. She grew up in Wallace until moving to Sharon Springs Kansas at a young age. Berniece graduated from Sharon Springs High School in 1954. She then attended Hayes St. College and received her teaching certificate. She then taught school at Wallace Grade School. She married Charles Boyle on June 13, 1960 at Church of the Holy Ghost in Sharon Springs, Kansas by Father I.J. Manzo. The couple eventually moved to Scribner where they remained. After moving here Berniece taught school at Mud Creek Pebble District #25 northwest of Scribner until starting her family.
Berniece worked various part-time jobs including Lee's market, Scribner Pharmacy, Morris Oil, The Depot, and Elkhorn Valley Villa. For years she taught CCD at St. Lawrence, was a member of its guild, was choir director, played guitar and was a very active member. She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary, SEA Club and Sunshine Club.

The Funeral Mass will be 10:30am Saturday January 3 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Scribner. The Rev. Vitalis Anyanike will officiate. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery. Memorials will be established at a later date. Visitation will be on Friday 3pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 7pm at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. A vigil service will be held at 7pm at the church.
