Iris Fern (Pribbeno) Fuller
Iris Fern (Pribbeno) Fuller, 87, of Prescott, Ariz., died Aug. 16, 2006, at the Las Fuentes Resort Village in Prescott.
She was born Jan. 20, 1919, to Edward and Fern Pribbeno in Imperial, Neb.
She was a resident of Prescott for 56 years and worked as supervisor of the lunch program for Prescott Public Schools 21 years before retiring.
Her husband, Robert J. Fuller, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen K. (T. Wayne) Whipple of Phoenix, Ariz.; granddaughter, Dawn L. (David) Waldman of Chandler, Ariz.; grandson, Thomas W. (Christina) Whipple, Jr. of Bloomfield, N.J.; great grandsons, Brian and Andrew Waldman of Chandler, Ariz.; and a brother, Carl (Maybelle) Pribbeno of Chandler, Ariz.
Nieces and nephews in Nebraska are Kent (Donita) Pribbeno, Jackie Claus, Joan (Boyd) Mathews, Don (Amy) Monasmith, all of Imperial; John Monasmith of Wauneta and Fern (Dean) McCoy of Arapahoe. Those in Colorado are Sherry (Ray) Berlin, Scharlie (Gaylord) Faubion and Dennis Pribbeno. Those in Arizona are Gloria (Richard) Williams and Ed (Shirley) Collins.
Inurnment is planned at the Mountain View cemetery in Prescott.
Harley G. Hart
Harley George Hart, 73, of Loveland, Colo. died Aug. 21, 2006, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland.
He was born Dec. 8, 1932, in Berthoud to George and Selma "Sally" Stark Hart. He married
Bobetta Hagler on June 28, 1959. To this union, they had two sons, Tracy and Scott.
On June 26, 1964, he was united in marriage to Thena Fuehrer in Loveland. To this union, a daughter, Stephanie, was born.
In his younger years, he worked at Hart's Corner. He had previously worked for Knox Chevrolet before the change of ownership to Davidson Chevrolet. He worked for Davidson Chevrolet for 25 years. In 1980, he and Thena opened Harley's Trading Post in Loveland. He retired in 2003.
He was a longtime member of the Loveland Elks Lodge, B.P.O.E No. 1051 and enjoyed making coffee and visiting with everyone who came into the lodge. He was very passionate about playing accordion music and enjoyed spending time with his family and the family pets. His hobbies also included collecting John Deere, trains and various die-cast models, gardening and constructing birdhouses.
He is survived by his wife, Thena Hart of Loveland; sons, Tracy and Scott Hart of Arvada; daughter, Stephanie Milton and husband Steve of Loveland; sister, Myrna Hoefker and husband Dennis of Loveland; brother-in-law, Don Fuehrer, and wife, Pauline, of Imperial; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Dunn.
Funeral services were held on Aug. 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Chapel.
Viewing was held at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home prior to and following the funeral service.
Cremation was conducted following the funeral service.

Junior E. Ferebee
Junior Eugene Ferebee, the son of Sam and Maybelle (Reynolds) Ferebee, was born on Dec. 20, 1919, in Central City, Neb.
He passed away on Aug. 27, 2006, at Parkview Haven Nursing Home in Deshler, Neb. at the age of 86 years, eight months and seven days.
Junior graduated from Chase County High School in Imperial, Neb.
He continued his education and graduated from St. Louis College of Mortuary Science; received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Doane College of Crete, Neb.; and his Masters and Specialists Degrees from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Neb.
He served his country in the US Navy during World War II, aboard the USS President Adams.
He was united in marriage to Dixie Lee Jahnke, on Dec. 23, 1953. This union was blessed with a daughter, Leslie Ann.
After marriage, Dixie and Junior lived in Deshler, Neb.; Crete, Ill.; Walthill, Neb.; and then back to Deshler, Neb., where they resided until the tornado of June 2003 destroyed their home. The family then moved to Hebron, Neb. until health problems and Junior was moved to Parkview Haven Nursing Home in Deshler, Neb.
Junior was the basketball coach at Western Public School from 1954-1956, and had two successive Class D State Championships while at Western.
In 1956 he received the Lincoln Journal Star "Prep Coach of the Year Award," because of his outstanding record at a small school, developing good athletes consistently and for his outstanding qualities of leadership. He was also nominated for the Omaha World Herald "Coach of the Year" and received the Omaha World Herald "Certificate of Merit Award" in 1954 and 1955.
He was the basketball coach and assistant football coach at Deshler Public Schools from 1957-1960 and secondary principal for three years. Junior served as superintendent at Deshler High School from 1963 until 1968.
In 1968 he resigned as Superintendent of Schools and accepted a position of principal at Crete-Monee Schools in Crete, Ill. for three years.
From 1971-1977 he was Superintendent of Schools in Walthill, Neb. and in 1977 he returned to Deshler and was Superintendent of Schools there until his retirement in 1985.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hebron, Neb.; the American Legion Post #352 of Deshler, Neb.; and served on the Thayer County Hospital Board and the Educational Service Unit #5 Board.
He was an avid golfer and football fan.
He loved life and his family and was a friend to all.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dixie, on Dec. 24, 2005; brother, Dale and sisters, Catherine and Camille.
He is survived by daughter, Leslie Ann Ferebee of Hebron; sister-in-law, Donna Aschwege of Lincoln, Neb.; three nephews, Mike Gerhard and wife, Julie, of Lincoln, Neb., Robert Kelly and Jack Kelly, both of California; three nieces, Kathy Jarvis and husband, Jim, of Lincoln, Neb., Laura Mach and husband, Steve, of Roca, Neb, and Ann Bornschlegl and husband, Fletcher, of Fort Worth, Texas.
Memorials may be given to Parkview Haven Nursing Home, Deshler, Neb. and First United Methodist Church, Hebron, Neb.
Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Hebron, Neb. today, (Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006), at 11 a.m.
Burial was at the Deshler City Cemetery, Deshler.

Gary L. Todd
Gary L. Todd was born Dec. 1, 1940 in Imperial, Neb. to George and Iona Todd and passed away Aug. 22, 2006, at Mercy Hospital, Omaha, Neb. at the age of 65 years.
Gary grew up in Imperial, Neb. and graduated from Chase County High School in 1960.
Shortly after high school he moved to Omaha where he made his home. He attended U.N. Omaha and graduated with a Business Degree.
He served with the Nebraska National Guard and went to work with Western Electric until he retired. He also owned and operated a business called Fantastic Letting. His hobbies were bowling and golfing.
He married
Anna Tex on July 10, 1965, in Papillion, Neb. and to this union three sons were born: Gary, Steven and Douglas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joe.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; sons, Gary and wife Jen, Steve and wife Darla and Doug, all of Omaha; grandchildren, Michael and Zachary; brothers, Jim and wife Paula and Randy Todd; sister-in-law, Mary Todd and many other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the St. Gerald's Catholic Church in Omaha with Father Gary Ostrander officiating.
Pallbearers were Gary Todd, Steve Todd, Doug Todd, Jim Todd, Randy Dodd and Ron Boyce.
Honorary pallbearers were Michael Todd, Zachary Todd, Jack Todd, Junior Dailey and Nick Beck.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Omaha.
Memorials to the family will be used to purchase AEDs (external defibrillators) for local golf courses.

Harold Gengenbach
Harold Gengenbach was born on March 1, 1915 southeast of Grant, Neb. He was the oldest of nine children born to Christian and Anna Schurr Gengenbach. He was baptized as an infant in Eustis, Neb., on Oct. 18, 1915 at the church parsonage.
Harold grew up on the farm and attended District 76 through the eighth grade. He was confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Grant on July 7, 1929. Harold started high school at Perkins County High School but his father was diagnosed with disabling polio so Harold quit school to manage the farm and help with his younger siblings.
Harold remained on the farm where he was active growing crops and raising cattle. He later met Lottie Lange who was employed at the ASCS office in Imperial, Neb., and they were married
on Oct. 3, 1964 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial.
They lived on the Gengenbach farmstead until 1975 when they built their home in Imperial. Harold and Lottie were able to take many wonderful trips around the country in their retirement years. They later moved to the Imperial Heights retirement center.
Lottie died in 2004 and Harold was living at the Imperial Manor nursing home when he died early Monday morning, Aug. 21, 2006. He had reached the age of 91.
Harold was an active member of the Grant Zion Lutheran Church where he served on several committees. He was a Lions Club member and when he was active on the farm, he always enjoyed his lunch and card games with his friends at DeLancey's. He sat on the board of directors for Adams Banks.
Harold is survived by two brothers, George and his wife Betty and Dan and his wife Evelyn, all of rural Grant; six sisters, Lillian Logsdon, Arlene Kurkowski, Dorothy Keuten and Rosie and her husband Jack Barry, all of Grant, Eleanor Russell of Wallace, Neb., and Anita and her husband Don Most of Ogallala, Neb.; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Services were held Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006 at Grant Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Ron Krause officiating.
Music was provided by Judy Kurkowski, Lori McCloskey and the congregation.
Casket bearers were John Logsdon, Randy Gengenbach, John Keuten, Darin Russell, Lloyd Logsdon, Donn Gengenbach, Brad Keuten, Mike Barry, Burle Gengenbach, Charles Traxler, Dan Russell and Sam Most.
Honorary Escorts were Doug Lange, Don Banks, Casey Lange, Larry Raile, Kyle Lange and Barney Lair.
Interment was in the Grant Cemetery.

Harold Gengenbach
Harold Gengenbach, 91, of Imperial, Neb., and originally of the Grant, Neb. community, died early Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday (today), Aug. 24, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the Grant Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Ron Krause officiating.
Burial will be in the Grant Cemetery.
Bullock-Long Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Irvin Johnson
Irvin Franklin Johnson, 89, passed away from this life Aug. 14, 2006. He had made his home at the Imperial Manor since 1997.
He was born in Champion, Neb., on Oct. 20, 1916, to Hansie and Lily Johnson and spent his childhood there.
He married
Verna Doris Cranwell on July 3, 1938. He worked on the Ernest Cranwell farm on the Nebraska-Colorado state line before purchasing a farm south of Lamar in 1946. Their first child, Donna, was born in 1945, followed by Cynthia in 1949 and Barry in 1950. He acquired his education as a television and electronic technician and began his business in 1958. He was known for his expertise and grew to be known area wide.
In 1976, he retired from farming and built a home in Bella Vista, Ark. They purchased a home in Rogers, Ark., in 1990 and lived there until 1996. While there he gave his life to Christ and was a member of the Christian Church in Rogers.
Due to failing health they moved back to Imperial in 1996. He entered the Imperial Manor in 1997. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hansie and Lily Johnson; one sister, Theda Bopp and his beloved wife ,Verna.
He is survived by two sisters, Iona Peterson of Imperial and Eileen Phinney of Lincoln; two daughters, Donna Gibb of Imperial, Cynthia Hudgins and husband Jack of Texarkana, Ark.; one son, Barry Johnson and wife Sheila of North Platte; grandchildren, Jamie Gibb and wife Denise of Imperial, Shannon Johnson and husband Russell of Benton, Ark., Shane Hudgins and wife Teri of New Boston, Texas, Sean Hudgins of Dallas, Texas, Rene Johnson of Las Vegas, Nev. and Cody and Donelle Kimberling of North Platte and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. at Mount Hope cemetery in Imperial.
A memorial has been established to the Imperial Manor Nursing Home.
