Margaret Louise Greeley
Margaret Louise (Brown) Greeley was born on Jan. 18, 1916, in Elsie, Neb. to Andrew Jackson and Gertrude Orvada (Witt) Brown and went to her reward in heaven on Dec. 14, 2004, at the age of 88 years, 10 months, 26 days at the Chase County Community Hospital in Imperial, Neb.
After graduating from Wauneta High School in 1933, Margaret taught elementary school until her marriage on Dec. 25, 1937, to Floyd Edward Greeley. They started their marriage in North Platte, Neb., where Floyd worked for UPFE and Margaret became a homemaker. In 1946, they moved to Hamlet, Neb., where they owned and operated Greeley Service Station.
During Margaret's lifetime she worked at Rousey's Grocery Store, delivered the McCook Gazette newspaper and operated both depots for Continental Trailways Bus Lines in Imperial and Hamlet.
The career she held dear to her heart was being wife to Floyd for 61 years, mother of five children and loving the time of being a grandmother and great grandmother-they loved her tea parties.
Margaret was baptized in the Church of Christ at an early age and remained a faithful servant throughout her life. She especially enjoyed her Bible Study Group until her health started to fail.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, her parents, two brothers Harold and Ray and special nephew Jack Pump.
Survivors include sons, Jim Greeley and wife Mary of Colorado Springs, Colo., Gary Greeley and wife Dawanna of Imperial, Neb., Terry Greeley and wife Gwenn of Gering, Neb.; daughters, Patricia Roth of Portland, Ore. and Sheila Knudsen and husband Jim of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sisters, Annabel Pump of Venango, Neb., Nell Terry and husband Everett of Lake Placid, Fla., Delpha Nordhausen of Wauneta, Neb. and Marlene Gardner and husband Marvin of Salem, Ore.; brother, Alan Brown and wife Mabel of Ogallala, Neb.; special friend, Hugo Mohr; and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Margaret were held Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Westside Church of Christ, Imperial, Neb. with Bill Lewis and Randy Hayes officiating.
Music was by the Westside Church of Christ Choir.
Casket escorts were Craig Greeley, Todd Greeley, Mark Greeley, Christopher Greeley, Kerry Weiss, Sam Greeley, Arich Kanob, Jackson Weiss, Ally Bergsten, Alysa Greeley, Corey Greeley, Cody Greeley, Jami Greeley, Anabeth Lunghofer, Dylan Greeley, Shelby Greeley, Erin Baker, Jennifer Bergsten, Jordan Greeley, Jackson Lee Greeley, Rachel Greeley, Sarah Greeley, Angela Greeley, Danielle Greeley, Dana Baker, Brock Gardner, Shelbi Greeley, Abby Bergsten and Taryn Greeley.
Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta, Neb.

Tony Newkirk
Tony Lee Newkirk, 41, died on Nov. 30, 2004, at his home in Imperial, Neb.
He was born Aug. 17, 1963 at Oshkosh, Neb. and grew up on the family farm northeast of Lewellen, Neb. where he farmed and ranched with his parents.
Tony, while in high school at Lewellen Rural High School, was crowned king of the Lewellen football tiger team in the his senior year.
Tony loved the open spaces, his horses and dogs and running hay equipment in the hay field where his asthma and hayfever made the haying part of the ranching impossible after awhile.
After graduating from high school, Tony moved to Imperial, Neb. and farmed with his parents on a corn and dry bean operation near Lamar, Neb.
From there he left the farm and moved to western Kansas and was a pen rider for a large feedlot operation.
Later he joined with Younglove Construction Company traveling over most of eastern and southern USA. The company moved to northwest Iowa and Tony was in that area for a number of years doing construction work.
In 2001 he moved back to Imperial and got into woodworking with Artistic Woodworking. He made many, very good friends while working there until his death.
Tony loved to watch TV in his spare time and was an amazing history buff. He rarely missed a Nebraska football game on TV.
Tony spent considerable time helping his parents with house repair and remodeling of the house. He was also a very good auto mechanic often times working on his dad's vehicles.
He had a love of motorcycles and wanted to someday own a new Harley Davidson. His asthma, hayfever and allergies prevailed his death.
His family wishes Tony a smooth ride on that new motorcycle on his trip to heaven.
Tony was preceded in death by grandfather, Charles Briggs; grandparents, Howard and Effie Newkirk; nephew, Kasey Josjor; maternal great grandparents, Bill and Nellie Makinster and paternal great grandparents, Harry and May Newkirk.
He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Cheri Newkirk of Imperial, Neb.; grandmothers, Eula Briggs of Imperial, Neb. and Elizabeth Newkirk of Hiawatha, Kan.; sister, Cyndi Seitz and husband, Pat, of Central City, Neb.; nephews, Jackson, Jon and Joey and niece, Jasmin.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning, Dec. 4, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at the Crossroads Wesleyan Church in Imperial with Pastor Todd Burpo officiating.
Organist was Mrs. Colleen Mullanix, accompanist was Mrs. Sherri Schoenholz and soloist was Mrs. Lenore Weatherly.
Casketbearers were Ray Buffington, Harlan Kuhn, Bill Bardsley, Pat McCormick, Greg Koester and Jim Rittenhouse.
Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
A memorial has been established to the Imperial Public Library.

Doug Lee
Douglas Lee was born on Oct. 1, 1956 at Grant, Neb. He was one of four children born to John and Erna Rae Erlewine Lee.
Doug grew up on the family farm southeast of Madrid, Neb., and attended school in Madrid, graduating from Wheatland High School in 1974. Doug went to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where he graduated in 1978 with an agronomy degree.
Doug returned to Perkins County where he worked for a brief time with Don Softley in Farmer's Ag where he served as a field scout. He later entered a farming and ranching partnership with his father.
Doug was married
to Penny (Jenkins) Kosmicki on Sept. 4, 2004 at Estes Park, Colo. They split time living between Grant and the farm southeast of Madrid.
Doug and Penny had gone to Mullen, Neb., over the weekend to bring cattle back to the farm. They were working north of Mullen Saturday afternoon and Doug was rounding up a stray cow on his four-wheeler when he hit a rough spot in the terrain. He was thrown from the vehicle and was killed instantly. He had reached the age of 48.
Doug had been an involved member of the Elsie Catholic Church and taught his sons in the CYO class while they were in school. He had also served on the Wheatland School Board for five years.
Doug is survived by his wife Penny; two sons, Ben, attending school in Lincoln and Sam, attending school in Milford, Neb.; two stepsons, Levi and wife Sara Kosmicki of Chadron, Neb., and Riley Kosmicki at home; one daughter, Candace Lee at home; two step-daughters, Steph Kosmicki of Brighton, Colo., and Sandy Kosmicki, attending school in Lincoln; parents John and Erna Rae of Madrid; one sister, Teresa and husband Rick Nowak of North Platte, Neb.; two brothers, Bryan and wife Chris of North Platte and Jay and wife Dana Lee of Madrid; many other relatives and friends.
Vigil service was held Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the Grant Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church with Rev. Jim Benton officiating.
Mass of Christian burial was Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at Mother of Sorrows Church with Father Bill Grant officiating.
Burial was in the Madrid Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.

Patricia Harrison
Patricia Burke Harrison passed away Dec. 1, 2004, in her home in Irvington, Va.
Mrs. Harrison was born in Imperial, Neb. in 1912, the daughter of J. E. "Eg" and Elva Burke.
She is survived by her daughter Judith Richardson and husband, Norris; her son, Jack Harrison and wife, Marge; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband J. Paul Harrison, her parents and her brothers James E. Burke, Jr. and Edward B. Burke.
Marvin Bischoff
Marvin John Henry Bischoff was born on Feb. 23, 1927 to Fred and Ella (Haarberg) Bischoff in Imperial, Neb. He was the older of two children.
He was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and attended school in Stratton, Neb. and at St. Paul's Lutheran School on the south divide.
In 1938 Marvin moved with his parents to Loveland, Colo. Here he was confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Zion American Lutheran Church. In 1947 he returned to the family farm and farmed with his father on the south divide.
On May 25, 1951, he was united in marriage to Arlene Baker at the home of the bride's parents north of Enders. To this union, eight children were born. They resided on the family farm until 1963, when they moved to Phoenix, Ariz. where Marvin was employed by State Tile Company and Lufkin Construction Company.
The family moved to Imperial for five years in 1979 and then returned to Phoenix, Ariz. After retirement, Marvin and Arlene returned to Imperial in 1998.
Marvin passed away early Monday morning, Nov. 29, 2004, at the Chase County Community Hospital. He was 77 years of age.
Marvin was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial and served as a trustee at St. Paul's Lutheran Church as well as at his church in Arizona.
He was a member of the Studebaker Club and owned a Studebaker truck which he enjoyed working on. While living in Arizona, he assisted in building a church camp named "Camp Aloma." Marvin also loved to collect toy tractors of all kinds.
Survivors include wife Arlene of Imperial; daughters Jolee Stebbins and husband Mike of Lawrenceville, Ga., Deann Markley and husband James of Gilbert, Ariz., Marilou Bischoff of Imperial, Neb., Val Jean Boe of Pierce, S.D.; sons Micheal Bischoff and wife Mitzi of Montgomery, Mich., Jason Bischoff of Pierre, S.D.; sister Shirley Gardner and husband Larry of Imperial, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; one great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Marvin in death were his parents, an infant daughter and an infant son and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, 2 p.m. (MT) at the Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial with Pastor Ronald Krause officiating.
Pallbearers were Morris Pargas, Kirk Christensen, Craig Armbruster, Randy Schmitt, Michael McClellan, Timothy Johnson, Karl Christensen, Dr. Larry Baker, Rev. Timothy Wagner, Craig Schneitzler and Travis Kerner.
Interment followed at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, south of Wauneta, Neb.
A memorial has been established in Marvin's memory.

Marvin Greenlee
Marvin Dean Greenlee, 69, of McCook, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2004 at Community Hospital in McCook.
He was born Oct. 18, 1935 to Marion Grant and Marjorie Gladys (Hall) Greenlee at Stockville.
He graduated from Red Willow High School on May 13, 1954.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict 1956-1962.
He spent his lifetime living in the McCook area and worked for Parker-Hannifen (formally Dayco) for 31 years.
On July 9, 1961 he married
Sandra Hoff in McCook. To this union one daughter, Paris, was born. Sandra died Nov. 28, 1986.
He married
Marlene M. Junge on June 17, 1988 at Imperial.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1652.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sandra; three brothers, Gerald, Dennis and Gary; and one sister, Janet Porter.
Survivors include: wife, Marlene; daughter Paris Province and husband Rick of McCook; four step-children, Max Kaiser and wife Joni of Imperial, Alan Kaiser and wife Tami of Lincoln, Boyd Kaiser and wife Deb of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Gary Kaiser and wife Stacy of Sargent Bluff, Iowa; one brother, Oren Greenlee and wife Judy of Indianola; two sisters, Marilyn Unger and husband Ed of McCook; Janice Kelsey and husband Steve of McCook; two grandchildren; and 10 step-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in his name to KNGN Radio Station or the American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at Peace Lutheran Church, today, Thursday, Dec. 9, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Randy Wahl officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
