Donna "Snick" Fisher, 93, of Guide Rock, died Monday at the Heritage Care Center in Red Cloud.

Mary Hanna
Mary Joan Hanna, the daughter of James Thomas and Ruth (Wingo) Copper, was born Nov. 5, 1944, at Colby, Kan. She died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at Bryan Medical Center East Campus in Lincoln, Neb. at the age of 73 years and 25 days.
Mary was united in marriage to James A. Hanna, Sr., on April 14, 1979, in Long Beach, Calif. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2010. Mary was also preceded in death by her father, James Copper; mother, Ruth Branstetter; son, Doug Green; and a brother, Eugene Elbe.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Derita Burris, of Pascagoula, Miss.; step-children, Jeff (Ginger) Hanna of Mobile, Ala.; John Hanna of Three Rivers, Miss.; Mike Hanna of Wade, Miss.; Virginia Shephard of Escatawpa, Miss., and Lonnie Hanna of Wade, Miss.; grandchildren, April (Harlin) Fore of Saucier, Miss., and Hannah (Tyler) Jacobs of Lafayette, La.; step-grandchildren, Daniel (Leslie) Hanna of Tuxey, Ala.; Crystal (Wes) Williams of Mobile, Ala.; Jennifer Hanna of Hurley, Miss.; Jamie (Tony) Hand of Hurley, Miss.; Jenna (Ron) Hinton of Hurley, Miss.; Ronald Shephard of Wade, Miss.; Melissa Shephard of Mobile, Ala., and Leslie Hanna of Wade, Miss.; sisters, Carol Larson of St. Francis, Kan.; Frances (Jim) Herren of Goodland, Kan.; Janice King of Burlington, Colo.; Sue (Lloyd) Sporing of Superior, Neb. and Ruth (Earl) Studer of Superior, Neb.; her brother, Jim Copper, of Superior, Neb.; a host of great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Petey.
Memorial services were Monday Dec. 4, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Megrue- Price Funeral Home in Superior, with Pastor Natalie Faust officiating. Music was recorded music, "Amazing Grace," "Precious Memories" and "Dancing In The Sky."
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, which was special to Mary in memory of her late husband, Jim.

Margie Zoch
Margie Caroline Zoch, 89, died last Monday at Integris Bass Hospital in Enid, Okla. The daughter of Carl and Erna (Eilers) Hinz, she was born Oct. 21, 1928, on the family farm near Nelson.
Margie was baptized on Dec. 9, 1928, at Salem Lutheran Church by Pastor Charles Bunge. She was confirmed at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on June 17, 1945, by Pastor Robert Leege. Her confirmation verse was 2 Corinthians 5:15. She attended country schools, Star and Kelly. Margie worked at the Hebron Blue Valley Care Home and the Deshler Broom Factory. During her lifetime, she lived in Nelson, Clay Center, Kan., Deshler, Denver, Colo., and Enid, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hubert Zoch, on March 9, 1989; two infant daughters; a sister, Gertrude Brandt; brothers, Jim, Leroy, Raymond and Eldred Hinz.
Survivors include her son, Harlan Zoch of Enid, Okla.; daughter, Brenda Hessman of Dodge City; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Larry Plock (Rose) of Deshler, Shirley Hinz of Lincoln and Mrs. Dick Medina (Darlene) of Deshler; other relatives and friends.

Shirley Novak
Shirley Kay Novak, 59, died last Monday in Salina. She was born Aug. 5, 1958, in Concordia to George and Edith Novak.
Shirley and her family lived in the Mankato and Jewell area where she graduated from Jewell High School with the Class of 1976.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a sister, Sharon Fowler; and a niece, Nicole Fowler.
She is survived by her daughters, Erica Collins of Salina and Demi Carlson of Hutchinson; five sisters, Brenda Dragoo, Mankato, Nancy Perez, Paola, Betty Unselt Salina, Rhonda Scheidt, Salina, and Susan Schlosser, Fargo, N.D.; one brother and five grandchildren.
Funeral and burial will be held at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetary, Mankato.

Rosina Anderson
Rosina C. Anderson was born Aug. 3, 1924, at the farm home near Jewell, Kan., and died Nov. 30, 2017, at the age of 93 years. She was the youngest of five children born to Mont and Altha (Betts) Clark.
She attended Spring Creek and Paradise country schools and graduated form Jewell Rural High School in 1942.
Rosina was married
to Frank Anderson on Sept. 20, 1943. Born to them was a son, Jerry Lee. While Frank was overseas, she spent some time in Topeka, Kan., working at the Hallmark Greeting Card Co. After World War II, Frank returned home from service and they settled on their farm northeast of Jewell. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working beside her husband with the farming and daily chores. After 49 years on the farm they moved to Jewell. Their grandson, Darrell, and family now reside on the family farm.
She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was extremely proud of their accomplishments. Rosina was a member of the Jewell Christian Church and the Jolly Mixers.
Rosina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank, in 2002; three sisters, Ruth Thiel, Dorothy Clark and Bera Heinlen; and a brother, Elwood Clark.
Left to mourn her passing are a son, Jerry, and wife, Nancy Anderson, Jewell, Kan.; granddaughter, Kathy, and Jason Livingston, Idaho; grandson, Darrell, and wife, Juretta Anderson, Jewell; three great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Anderson, Kindra Anderson and Alyssa Livingston; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation was held Monday, Dec. 4, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Kleppinger Funeral Home, 409 Broadway, Jewell, Kan. Munroe Little
Munroe Newton Little, age 89, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems. Munroe was born June 8, 1928, near Hunter, Kan., to Otte and Hazel (Rieschick) Little. Munroe was united in marriage to Kathleen Loomis on Nov. 20, 1953. They were blessed with 64 years of marriage.
Munroe attended country school north of Mankato and then began working at various locations including farming, carpentry work and sawmilling in Idaho. He also enjoyed running a combine, but his asthma limited his ability to do so.
Munroe was an avid fisherman and gardener, where he took pride in his produce and enjoyed sharing with others. He was also known for joking with his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and sister-in-law, Karen Moyer.
He is survived by his loving wife; brother-in-law, Bill, and wife, Becky Loomis, Jewell, Kan.; brother-in-law, Wendell Moyer, Jewell, Kan.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held Thursday, Nov. 30, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Kleppinger Funeral Home in Jewell, Kan. Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at Kleppinger Funeral Home, with burial in the Ionia Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Jewell Public Library.

Elsie Tallent
Elsie Irene Edwards, 93, died last Tuesday in Overland Park. She was born in Jewell County on Jan. 3, 1924, the oldest of 12 children of Robert Clinton and Velma Leone McKinney Edwards.
She earned a teaching certificate and taught in a one-room school in Nuckolls County for a year. She met Dale Omer Tallent while shopping for groceries with her mother in Hardy. They were married
June 8, 1947, at the Hardy Community Church. The union resulted in seven children.
She was active in her churches, acting as superintendent of Sunday schools, singing in the choir, directing children's choirs, leading youth groups, organizing vacation Bible schools and leading adult Bible studies. She was interested in her community and strove to give back in volunteer work. She saw need in Colorado and Wyoming with the migrant workers and organized a summer school for the children so they had a safe place while their parents worked in the neighboring fields. In 1987 she was awarded Community Woman of the Year award by the Hiawatha Business and Professional Women.
Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; brothers, Bob, George, Russ, Don (Squirt) and Bruce; a daughter, Sandra Rae; granddaughters, Erika Zancanella Shiflar and Ashley Campbell Tallent; and a grandson, Paul Shiflar.
Survivors include her children, Mrs. Gordon Graham (Roxie) of rural Powhattan, Mrs. Bob Baker (Jean) of Vacaville, Calif., David Tallent of Powhattan, Mrs. David Barnes (Cindy) of rural Powhattan, Mrs. Ed Burns (Teri) of Laurel, Md., and Mark Tallent of Overland Park; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was held Saturday at the Union Church in Hardy with Pastor Jacob Cloud of First Methodist Church in Hiawatha officiating. Interment followed in the Hardy Cemetery. Chapel Oaks Funeral Home of Hiawatha, in conjunction with Williams Funeral Home of Superior, handling the arrangements.

Martha Ayers
Martha Cornelia Angle Ayers was born Oct. 27, 1913, near Gentry, Ark., to John R. and Elva (Giger) Angle. She died on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at Brodstone Memorial Hospital, Superior, Neb., at the age of 103 years, 11 months and 27 days.
Shortly after her birth, the family moved back to the family farm five miles Northeast of Lovewell, Kan. She graduated from Lovewell High School in 1930 and soon moved with her brother, Marvin, and her parents to Corvallis, Ore., where they lived for six years. Martha graduated from Oregon State College (now Oregon State University) and began her 29-year teaching career ญญ one year in Oregon and 28 years in Kansas high schools. She taught business, typing and mathematics.
Martha married
John E. Ayers in 1949 and, with John's two sons, Jon Rodney and Richard Bruce, moved to the Angle farm, while her parents retired to Superior, Neb.
Martha and John retired from the farm in 1977 and moved to Tescott, Kan., where they lived for 18 years.
When she was 12, Martha joined the White Rock Methodist Episcopal Church and was active in the Methodist church all of her life. She was a member of the Courtland United Methodist Church at the time of her death.
She was a past member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Kansas Retired School Employees.
Martha and John moved to Courtland, Kan., in 1995 and then, in 2001 to Wilde Ridge Apartments in Superior, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Marvin; two infant sisters, Lois Ella and Gertrude Miriam; and by her husband, John. Survivors include her sons, Dr. Jon R. Ayers and life partner, Janet Bryars; Richard Bruce Ayers and wife, Linda, Courtland Kan.; Diane Ayers, Frisco Texas; grandchildren, Leann Ayers, Philadelphia Pa.; Derrick Ayers and life partner, Lynn Burroughs, Cincinnati Ohio; Lisa Hazen and husband, Matthew, Frisco, Texas; Douglas Ayers and life partner, Vicki Arnold, Kansas City, Mo.; Saundra Reed and husband, Mark, Courtland, Kan.; Lance Ayers and wife, Angie, Mankato, Kan.; Brenda Schwertfeger and husband, Jeff, Turon, Kan.; niece, Delphine Dodd, Houston, Texas; nephew, Joe Angle and wife, Judy, Jacksonville, Texas; 15 great-grandchildren: Natasha and Caleb Ayers, Jonathan Ayers and wife, Christina, Benjamin and William Ayers, Trevor Austin, Lauren Corcoran and husband, Dillon, Corinne Ayers, Katie Carlgren and husband, Bret, Neely Kohmetscher and husband, Roger, Grace and Greta Ayers, Emma, Ellie, Eva, and Erin Schwertfeger; five great-great-grandchildren, Brandt, Blakely, and Bristol Carlgren and Reed and Ansley Kohmetscher.
Martha loved her family and was thankful for each of them.
Private Graveside services were held at the White Rock cemetery near Courtland, Kan. Memorials are suggested to go to Courtland Methodist Church.
